The ONLY place to buy sunglasses/glasses 11/5/2009

Super unique brands straight from Europe. I always end up walking out with at least a couple of pairs of sunglasses. They always have the latest styles and the staff is extremely helpful and will give honest feedback. Pros: Best selection, unique frames, honest staff Cons: You will want to buy too many pairs!!! more

Great place! 6/28/2009

I hate trying to find glasses that fit my face. These people found me my most favorite frames ever in like 15 minutes. it was painless and they look great! and yes if you are on a budget I wouldn't go here... but if you can spend the service and products are great. Pros: unique frames, great taste more

Great selection in a full range of prices 6/8/2009

Mr Ramini (below) was shown frames we have on sale in our store, he rejected all of them. We worked with him for 45 minutes and showed him a total of 6-8 frames all in the $225-300 price range. He was very happy with his selection. He now accuses us of only showing him 2 frames, (which then changed to 7 during our conversation) and DEMANDED his glasses at the sale price of $100 and threatened to post negative reviews unless we gave it to him. I offered to cut new lenses for the sale frame and refund the difference, he decided to post instead. In regards to our website-those frames are not in our store, they would not have been available in the time that he needed for his business trip. Fantastic selection from Europe, Excelent Service, Attention to detail... 12/19/2007

I went into Rims and Goggles looking for a pair of glasses for the first time. The staff was so helpful and gave such great advise on what looked good on me. They took so much time with me and we found 3 frames that I was having trouble picking between! They all discussed my needs, my style and what would work with many outfits and for work and going out to dinner parties, etc. I'm so happy I went in there! I couldn't decide on which to get, so I was able to get a discount when I purchased 2 of them, even though I didn't ask for it! Many of the frames there are brought back from Italy and France and are hand made, Nothing like their selection anyplace I've looked in the past. They know fashion, they know eyewear and they treated me with amazing service! I sent my girlfriend down who's daughter wears glasses and she got the most amazing glasses for her! (She loved the huge leopard bean bag in the kids section!!!) We are all great fans of this store and highly recommend it to all who want the best in eyewear. Not a store to be compaired to Sunglass Hut or Neiman's, these guys sell high end eyewear for people who want frames that cannot be found anywhere else! (oh, and I got the most beautiful eyewear chain that's like a necklace there too, so when I'm wearing my glasses, it looks like a regular necklace!)\r \r I love them, I'll be back for all my eyewear needs!\r \r \r Pros: Selection, Customer Service and Knowledge, Fashion advice Cons: Closes at 6pm most nights and I work late... only open late on Thursdays more

Great selection; high prices; good first stop to identify brands/styles you are interested in. 8/26/2007

This store has a beautiful selection of eyewear. Their prices are high: last year I bought Chanel sunglasses at Sunglass hut in Corte Madera for $40 less than the same glasses at R&G; the Sunglass staff mentioned that Chanel is supposed to be priced the same everywhere (i.e. SG hut was not discounting, so I conclude that R&G is gouging). I had the prescription lenses made at R&G, and the staff was pleasant and courteous. This is a great place to go to identify the eyeglass model you want, then you can surf the web/check other places for better pricing. Their lens prices were similar to other shops (for my expensive prescription/coated/thin etc. etc. lenses). Note: the service was markedly better when I didn't have my kids with me. This is *not* a child-friendly store (and my children are old enough to be well-behaved. Really!) Pros: Selection-unique styles Cons: Prices, average service for a high-end boutique more

Snotty staff, inflated prices 6/26/2007

I went here looking for some new sunglasses, and the staff were snotty and standoffish (this one woman and a Mr. Bean-looking man in particular). I noticed that their prices are up to 20% higher than department stores like Neiman Marcus. I was interested in a particular frame, and would have bought then, but the Mr. Bean-looking man said they don't price match AND they even REFUSE to write down the information of a particular item for you. I will never go back, and my advice to everyone is to STEER CLEAR OF THIS NASTY PLACE. :( Pros: Some fancy stuff...Chanel, Oliver Peoples Cons: There are a lot of places you can get the same designers CHEAPER and with BETTER SERVICE more

BEST of Marin..!!! 10/15/2006

I can't believe the other post... they must be crazy!! Was this person really ever in the store? I travel for my job around the world and Rims and Goggles is the ONLY place I go to for the best designer frames and excellent service. I've been going there for over 25 years and have had nothing but the best service with a knowledgeable staff that knows what they are doing for sure! I also don't know what they are saying about twice the price... maybe they are used to shopping at Lenscrafters...?! If you want the best in eyewear and frames that NO ONE else has in California, go to Rims and Goggles!!! Pros: exclusive lines, great staff, best of the best selection Cons: none, I love them!! more

double the price and smug service 11/29/2005

Smug, very expensive. I would reconsider if you are thinking of trading here. I like shopping at a place that wants my business. I received a gift from this store. Store credit only and selection was limited. more
