Rik Rak Salon

I bought one of those Smart Circle cards that you $60 for and then an array of services. Let me just say that it was the worst spent $60 of my entire salon and spa experience and I have been at many spas. The receptionist had no idea about the services when I called to ask about the spray tan. She left me on hold forever. When I arrived to do my nails the woman treating me acted like she was annoyed to do my nails. She was extremely unfriendly and rude. My friends nail tech did not speak English but as least she was polite! It was as if we were not considered real paying customers because we had this card. If I had liked the place, I would have become a client because it is very close to where I work but I would never even think of stepping foot in there again. The salon and spa experience should be relaxing and people should be polite and hospitable. Plus, the prices are out of this world high for the service given. more

This is a beautiful salon. Unfortunately i had a very bad experience with Leticia, the lady that does the eyebrows. I actually found out here in the reviews that she was the best of miami, so i went. the first time i went she did a fairly good job, i found her very unprofessional because she was all the time on the phone and with the door open talking to other people, i didnt mind because i liked the way my eyebrows came out. the second time i went, she is on the phone talking to a friend, telling him how her friend is in love with him!! and talking about nonsense while doing my eyebrows.!!!, it was so rude, she yells from inside the room to talk to people outside the room, talks really loud on your ear, this was the most uncomfortable visit i have ever had at any salon, very unpleasant and unprofessional. I paid $40.oo and on top of everything my eyebrows ended up uneven!!. i called the salon and spoke with the manager, who was a really nice woman. But this other lady is the most unprofessional person i have ever seen in my life. I could not believe it. more

my girlfriend went in and got her hair done by the owner, he did such a terrible job on her hair that she was depressed and crying about it all night, she's a beautiful olive skinned beauty, this guy made her hair pale white on top of that the hair is very dry, it seems unrepairable, beware of these people, they dont know what they are doing.... Cons: bad experience, no refund, bad work, big egos, stay away at all costs more

I got my hair done by this guy called""Ric"" it was the worst experience of my life, first of all he was 45 minutes late, he applied something on my hair and left me in a hot dryer for 45 minutes, then he put what seemed to be a whole gallon of conditioner on my hair to mask the fact that my hair was burnt, 3 days later i cut off 7 inches of hair...my compensation for all this??? I had to pay 350$ for the worst haircolor and styling i've ever gotten in my life....as a consumer I have a right to warn others of what they might get at this place....BEWARE Pros: parking Cons: really expensive, disorganized, really bad hairstyling and color more

I went to RikRak and had the best cut/color I've ever had! My previous stylist had turned my blonde hair a brassy orange and used a ton of toner on it. Carlos turned it from brassy to a beautiful natural looking blonde without any kind of toner at all! He also convinced me to try some long layers, which I was very skeptical about. However, I must say that I am glad that I listened to him...he knew exactly what would look great with my face and complexion. Having had an awful experience at my prior salon, Carlos was a welcome change! I would highly recommend him to anyone! Also, Red did an amazing blowout on my hair! Everyone was really great at the salon. The only drawback is that they seemed to be kind of behind schedule, but as far as I am concerned it was well worth the extra 30 minutes or so I ended up waiting. I got my hair done by ""betty"" and was very disapointed, she loaded my hair with chemicals and left me under the hair dryer for almost an hour, she then proceeded to cut my hair into very short feathery layers, the finished work looked horrible, I told her I wasnt happy with the hair and she didnt seem to care, I paid 245$, I learned a very expensive lesson...not everything that glitters is gold more

I went in for a color correction, I had to wait 1 hour before someone would take me in, the person that finally did my hair was very uncaring, I tried to tell them what I wanted but they seemed offended, they put color and bleach in my hair and left me in a dryer for 45 minutes I had to get up and go find the stylist who was serving me only to find her talking with her friends outside, when my hair was finally done it looked horrible, it was full of brassy yellow and orange tones, I was so dissapointed, I will never go back, the lady that did my hair goes by the name of ""betty"" Cons: bad work, took so long to get started, beverly hills expensive more

I went in to get my haircut and not only were they 45 minutes late they didnt give me what I wanted, I took a picture of the haircut I wanted and was very specific, the guy didnt care, he started hacking into my hair with no direction whatsoever, to make matters worse i have curly hair, this guy dried my hair with his hand, I left with a frizzed up horrible mess, my compensation for all this? i had to pay 180$ I already posted once and it was removed I dont think its fair, Im a consumer and I have a right to be heard.... Since I have moved to Miami, which was about three years ago, I have been in search of the best blonde highlights. After three years of unsatisfying color, I have finally found my man. With just one appointment with Ric last month, I can happily say that my long blonde hair has never looked better, EVER. The color is a perfect sun kissed blonde, the cut is exactly what I wanted, and on top of all of that, its soft and so healthy. I went to Ric for the first time about a month ago--best decision I have ever made. Since my natural color is pretty dark, and I color it to be very blonde, my hair is either an ugly yellow color and fried or vice versa. After one coloring, my hair is shiny, healthy, and a beautiful color. Its been about a month, and my roots are barely showing. Anyone in Miami with blonde highlighted hair (there are a lot of us, I know!) NEEDS to go to Ric, his color and cut cannot be beat. Trust me, I am very picky when it comes to my hair, and Ric is the master at blondes. Pros: The food bar has really yummy food and the shampoo girls are awesome. Service is great. I have lived in the Miami area all of my life, but travel all over the world. No one has ever colored and highlighted my hair as well as Carlos at Ric Rac. It doesn't matter if he has to spend 30 minutes or 3 hours, he will make sure the color is exactly as it should be before you leave. I highly recommend Carlos for those who want to cover up that grey hair. You won't find that typical tempermental personality with Carlos! I have been to every stylist at Rik Rak and was ready to find another salon until I tried Javier. The most professional and talented stylist I have ever seen. I am a world traveller and have been to the best salons in Paris, New York, London and Caracas. There is no one who can compare to his cuts and color. Extensions that are unbelievable. If you want long gorgeous hair he's the only one!!!!! World class!!!! more

i have been to a number of stylists in miami and betty is one of my favorites. she takes the time to understand and clarify what her clients want and offers honest feedback and options concerning style and color. she is an exceptionally talented colorist and creates a very multidimensional dynamic look, in a very efficient manner. what she has done with my color has taken other stylists twice as long to do! she gives a great haircut and remains true to the client's vision...if it doesn't come out exactly the way you want, she is open and receptive to making those subtle changes that are sometimes necessary. i am really impressed with her skills and the fact that she's all sortsa friendly and smiling! more

I was VERY unimpressed with Rik Rak. Maybe it depends on who you go to, but I thought they were way overpriced for mediocre service. I have short hair with simple layers. The girl that cut my hair charged me $80 for a trim - when it clearly states cuts start at $65. And she actually screwed up my hair cut. I need to have someone else properly blend the layers - she was terrible. I always know that my hair is in good hands when I go to see Carlos. I completely trust and value his expertise regarding my hair. I love the fact that he is willing to tell you exactly what colors and styles will work for your features because so many other stylists out there will just go along with what you tell them to do regardless of whether it looks good or not! He is a very fun and interesting person to talk to, and he makes you feel very welcomed when you go to see him. If you want the best, go see Carlos! more
