Fun day for my kids! 7/6/2011

I have taken my 3 kids here numerous times, but today was our best experience ever! We LOVE the hands on parts of the zoo. My 2 year old touched a baby goat for the first time, and my 4 year old twins got to touch a baby llama. They were over the moon about this. My advice to other moms, get the season pass if you are planning on going more than 3 times. And come early, the first wagon ride (free) is the best. Also I just picked up a newsletter today that said there are 2 new exhibits and paddleboats coming this month...so my crew will definitely be back! more

the reston zoo rip-off 6/22/2010

overpriced big time. rude staff. 1 bathroom each and 1 porta-potty for hundreds of guest. are you kidding me? then want to charge 4.00 each for a pony ride. take your kids to chucky cheese instead, then have them watch discovery channel on animals,or animal planet. lots cheaper. more

Reston Zoo 9/19/2005

The Reston Zoo is very family friendly and perfect for younger children. It is almost like a petting zoo. There is a wagon that takes you around the safari area were you can see zebras, antelope, bison, ostrich, and lots more. My kids just love it there. It is also a great place to celebrate a birthday party and the staff is super friendly! more

A Zoo in your backyard 8/18/2005

The Reston Zoo is a cute little place to take the kids to. Kids can see zebras, antelope, bison, ostrich, alligators, donkeys, emus, camels, reptiles, waterfowls and more. The staff in this zoo are very lively and involved. The biggest attraction is the capybara, a giant aquatic rodent from South America that is not found in all zoos. A wagon takes them around the park to show them all the animals and they can even feed some animals!! The zoo is open daily 9 to 5 and there is a fee of $8 for kids and $10 for adults. Kids below age 2 can come for free. All in all its a great educational journey for kids and adults alike! more

fun with animals 8/11/2005

This zoo is not your typical zoo - you can almost think of it as a petting farm. It looks small, but you can actually spend quite a bit of time going around and feeding the animals, especially the little goats. There's not a whole lot of animals, but there are a couple monkeys, reptiles - with a snake feeding, lots of ducks, deer, goats, sheep, and best of all, there's a safari! They actually drive you around, and in this safari are camels, zebras, ostriches, and little deer like creatures. It's so random because it's off a highway, and there's houses nearby whose backyards are right next to the safari. You can actually stop to feed the camels and zebras. Crazy but true. The only negative is that the feed costs you can extra $10. more

Good close-up fun 8/11/2005

Reston Zoo, formally Reston Animal Park and Pet Farm Park, allows the visitor to get up close to many species of animals. While all the common petting-zoo animals, such as sheep, llamas, pigs, and horses, are on display, there are also many animals not found in conventional petting zoos. These animals, such as monkeys, giraffes, and other exotic wildlife, are unable to be touched, however. Despite its many name changes, Reston Zoo has continued to remain a good, albeit pricey, alternative to the National Zoo in DC. more

Fun, Fun, Fun 8/9/2005

This is a great way to spend an afternoon with the family. Reston Zoo offers a wide variety of animals. You can get up close and really learn about them, you can even feed them. There is plenty of parking and plenty to look at. It is located near Lake Fairfax and is easily accessible on the corner of Route 7 and Baron Cameron. Your kids will enjoy it. more

Great zoo for little kids. 8/6/2005

REston zoo is a pretty big petting zoo, they have baby animals, deer, llamas, ostriches, emus, camels, alligators, birds, and small monkeys. There are hay rides included in the entrance fee. This is a fun place to take younger kids who want more interaction with the animals. Entrance fee is $6 for kids under 12 and $8 for those older. This zoo is right near the Water Mine as well. Perfect location for a fun filled day! more
