The menu sounds better than the food tasted. It was nothing to brag about. The desserts weren't worth the calories. The architecture of the restaurant itself was beautiful though....

Wonderful wedding! 6/29/2011

I held my wedding here in June (Rialto Room) and everything was perfect! We held the ceremony in the outdoor atrium which had a really unique NYC vibe and the dinner/dancing were in the Rialto Room. The food was amazing (received nothing but compliments from my guests, even from some 'critical' family members). Though the restaurant itself is a little expensive I found the value for money for an event is exceptionally good for Manhattan. The staff were wonderful, esp. Oscar (Manager of that evening) and Rachel (Event Manager). They could not have been more helpful to us and our vendors. I have to think of another event to plan so I can throw it at Remi :) more

not too bad 8/6/2010

came here w/ a friend after work and was thinking trying out the R/week menu. the experience started off rocky but got progressively better. first when my friend and i got to remi, the maitre d ignored us for a good 2 min trying to organize her menu stack and did not even greet us or anything. after she finally got her area organized then turned to us. i told her we made a resv. and we were seated. she did NOT give us the r/week menu but ONLY the regular one. Only after i inquired about it from the waiter did he bring us the R/w menus (not his fault, it's the maitre d's). the waiter was pretty attentive thru out the dining experience but i did ha ve to ask for water a few times... the food was excellent (had the beet salad and salmon - cooked perfectly). the dessert was nothing to rave about but nothing terrible either. all in all my friend and i had a good time... more

Beautiful Space 5/28/2010

One thing that truly stands out about Remi is the restaurant itself. It's very spacious with high ceilings and a huge floor to ceiling window that adds a touch of elegance and awe to the place. The food is equally as exceptional and everyone at my table easily cleared their plate - we had gnocchi, risotto, fish and a veal dish and absolutely everything was top notch. This is a great place to get the family together or celebrate something special. more

Everything it's cracked up to be. 2/10/2009

My family is Italian (di Roma) on my mom's side, so suffice to say I'm a little picky when it comes to Italian Food. The service was immaculate (Alessandro and the rest of the staff were fantastic), warm, welcoming and very attentive (but not excessively so). They have a full bar, an admirably extensive wine list, and soda. The bread was delicious, the olive oil tasted earthy, and the food. My goodness the food. more

I rediscovered Remi 7 years after it fell of my radar. 1/28/2009

I rediscovered Remi 7 years after it fell of my radar. Wow, I didn't know that pasta could taste this good! I'm not kidding you when I say that I was delightfully surprised with every bite. From the apps to the main course to dessert: everything I tried was STELLAR! It's a rare & welcome occassion that I leave a restaurant in NYC thinking, ""wow, that was worth every penny!"" Perhaps more refreshing was the range of dishes. There are no complicated flavor combinations or frilly garnishes or overly structured presentations at Remi--just phenomenal food made with fresh ingredients. A great wine list to accompany the meal. And the staff if excellent. You guys should open one in Connecticut. Pros: Great location if you heading to a show. Cons: we drove here...a no no in manhattan. more

Great food and service 11/24/2008

Pros: great location and great atmoshere Cons: Not too much advertising and therefore I did not know of its existence. more

Great service, food was tasty, expensive so make your boss pay 9/19/2008

The service here was excellent. I really enjoyed the seafood and the bread. It's not cheap, so make someone else pay. Pros: Tasty, Great Service Cons: Expensive more

Good food & drinks 12/30/2007

Just walked in (party of 3), no reservations, no hassle. Seating available after a brief wait which gave us a chance to grab drinks at the conveniently located bar as soon as you enter to the right. Happy hour specials available...martinis were delicious. The food portions are large - so mind what you order for appetizers. We had the rare tuna app, buffalo mozz/tomato app, portobello ravioli, lasagna, salmon and risotto special. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. No room for desert. Pros: Nice setting, close to shows, attentive staff Cons: Be prepared to park in garage more

great location, exceptional service, delicious food 12/21/2007

We were not from the area but were going into the city and needed to find somewhere to eat after the christmas show at Radio City. I was skeptical selecting a restaurant over the internet, but was pleasantly pleased with the results. Based on the reviews, location, prices, and menu I chose Remi's. Christmas in NY can be a crowd frenzie and I was nervous that the restraunt experience would not measure up during this caotic time of year. Not only did it measure up, it exceded my expectations. We were warmly greeted and seated promtly to a lovely table for four. Our wait staff were very helpful, attentive, and unobtrusive. They were readily present, attending to our immediate needs. You hardly knew they were there. Not once did we feel the need to request someting, they seemed to know what we wanted or needed (even before we did), there was no having to ask for service here. What more could you want? Our head waiter was excellent. We wanted a nice meal at a reasonable price and he senced that. He was very warm and friendly, he made you feel as though you were invited into his own home for dinner. He assissted us with wine selections, and menu choices and he was dead on with his recommendations. Pros: food, service, price, cleanliness. Cons: menu on their web site not exactly the same as in the restaurant, similar none the less more

italian 12/5/2007

Food was good, decor fine. Lived in NY most of my life and was trying to make a show. Everything was fine until I tried to get my coat for 10 minutes before asking the maitre 'd to assist me, which he seemed to ignore my request. Waited 10 more minutes until my showtime to ask the maitre 'd once more if there was something he could do. His reply was ""Areverderchi this is NY get used to it"". I dine thoughout the city on a regular basis and have never incountered this rude attitude at any restaurant that I have dined. I would have to say I will never return. more

Overpriced with average food 11/30/2007

Having read the reviews we were expecting an excellent dinner. The ambiance was fine, the service was fine but the food was a disappointment. The caprese salad was good but the pasta was heavy and salty and the gnocci was bland and coarse. Food prices were way above average for food of this quality. The nero d'avola was also mediocre. With many restaurant choices offering much more nuanced and flavorful fare at a better price we will not be returning to Remi. Pros: prompt service Cons: sub par food more

One of few great and elegant Restaurant in New York City 8/21/2007

With my family we were on a Saturday July 28, in Ew York City and our Concierge Steven Bagley from Four Season Hotel recommended to visit Remi, for an Italian experince. Pros: great services, great food, beautiful atmosphere Cons: wine list with great selection of italian and california wine and the full menu more

disappointing 8/1/2007

Visited on a Saturday night. Chose this resaurant based on reviews from this sight. Food was bland, nothing special. Nothing to rave about. Atmosphere quiet and boring, not elegant. Good service, but pushy sommlier. In general the food was just okay. Not what we were expecting, especially for the price. more

Very accomodating and warm service 4/5/2007

We were very late for our 6:15 reservation, but no problem. We called and the host said not to worry they would hold our table for us. When we did arrive at 7:00 (due to traffic) we were concerned that we wouldn't have time to eat before the 8:00 show began. This restaurant was incredibly accomodating. We had dinner and dessert in less than an hour and didn't feel rushed. The food was wonderful and the service was lovely. We would come back here frequently. Pros: Wonderful service, beautiful atmosphere, delicious food more

Good Restaurant in Midtown 12/18/2006

Remi is a very nice place to eat in Midtown. The restaurant is visually appealing with its beautiful mural of Venice spanning the length of the restaurant. The restaurant has a very nice selection of reasonably priced wines. The restaurant is straightforward and unpretentious. The proscuitto w/ melon was excellent as a first course place. The various entrees that we ordered in our party of 8 all received positive comments. The selection of gelatos is very good. We would definitely go here again. Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Group Dining more

Nice risotto 11/20/2006

I had a very nice meal here. I love the bustling atmosphere - of course you have to be in the mood for the energy. No complaints. more

Wonderful Italian Restaurant Experience!!!!!!!!!!! 11/2/2006

First time eating at Remi. Charming Venetian Atmosphere; enhanced by efficient and professional service. The menu offered unlimited choices of Italian Cuisine starting with well assorted appetizers (we loved the beet salad with goat cheese), followed by a large selection of homemade pastas (must try the pumpkin ravioli and the incredible lasagna!!!!!!!!). Our selections of red snapper and the veal scaloppine in lemon sauce enhanced what continued to be a wonderful evening experience. Fortunately we left room for tiramisu' and white chocolate hazelnut semifreddo!!!!!!! It was a great experience. more
