Best

I have lived in my fair share of apartments thru college and even post college. I went into the Regency Park office the other day and was quite straight forward letting them know...

Worst

The living space is nice, and the landscaping and everything is usually kept clean and nice, but the management is awful. We had our door replaced over a month ago and it's still...

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/8/2013

If you have an extra hour or two a month to debate the management team on issues like laws regarding mold abatement. Plus you are cool with having one staff member tell you one thing then another saying the contrary or perhaps you enjoy when you explain your frustrations having someone laugh in your face (although in her defense, she did tell me she is know for laughing at random). \r This is the place for you. \r If that's not for you don't move here and if you do live here, I am happy to share with you what it takes to force them to deal with things like mold (took me 3 weeks but I can tell you how to do it much faster now that I know the laws that I had to research and prove to them).\r \r more

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. The management, especially the manager, is the absolute worst and is unreasonable, unaccomodating, usually absent, and just plain rude. I would never recommend anyone living here. Crickets infested my apartment over a week and a half ago and they are JUST now spraying inside my apartment. Went in person several times, called, left four messages for the manager, and now 10 days later I hear back from them. They refuse to compensate us for the days we were unable to live in our apartment due to the crickets FALLING OUT OF THE CEILING FANS AND INTO OUR BEDS. They just gave us BS excuses as to why they can't do anything about it. Regency Park has the worst customer service EVER. I usually never write reviews and was okay with my living situation until recently when they pushed me over the edge. Do not move here. All I hear about is how they screw you in the move-out, so I have more fun times ahead with the worst apartment manager in the world! :D more

TENANTS HAVE LITTLE RIGHTS. REGENCY ABUSES THOSE RIGHTS. 4/8/2012

I wrote this in response to one of the reviews on apartmentratings. com. They charged me $1100 for new carpet along with other various fees on move out. It seems like there are many people who have a similar story that I have. This is what I did to help myself, and hopefully it can help you. REMEMBER- TENANTS HAVE LITTLE RIGHTS. The Landlord has the most rights in the rental situation, and Regency Park knows how to ABUSE those rights. PLEASE READ THESE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU CONSIDER THIS PLACE. It is very serious. more

Best office staff! 5/1/2011

I have lived in my fair share of apartments thru college and even post college. I went into the Regency Park office the other day and was quite straight forward letting them know what i was looking for as far as space, bedrooms, amenities, and price; as i am a well seasoned renter. Obviously coming off as a bit demanding, but , hey, a girls gotta stand her ground. Well, much to my surprise, the guy helping me, Brian, was AMAZING! He helped answer every question, took me on a tour of each unit i asked to see, even if it was clear i wasn't renting that particular unit. He was GREAT!!! It is because of him, i signed up for an spacious 1b/1b right there [which i have NEVER done]. Thanks, Brian, you're the best! more

Unethical management- BEWARE!! 9/15/2010

I had narrowed my search down to 2 places, Regency Park was one of them. It was the end of their business day, 6:00 p.m. and they were getting ready to close up. Melissa told me to just fill out an application and leave her a check so they could hold it for me overnight while I decided. I gave Melissa a check for $170. After getting home and reviewing my budget and measuring my furniture, I realized that this will not be a good fit for me. That and the reviews for his place are terrible. People were getting attacked and mugged in the parking lot! The very next morning at 7 a.m., I emailed Barbara and kindly requested to disregard my application, and said that if she needed me to pay the application fee, that I could bring by a separate check for that amount after work. Their office had been closed, they did not lose any possible renters in the time i left at 6pm until the time they opened the next morning at 8 a.m. Barbara said that they were cashing my check and I would lose my "deposit". i told her that's not what i understood from my conversation with Melissa the night before. She said to give her a check to hold it for now and if i changed my mind, she could just tear up the check. But at least if i gave her a check now, she could hold an apartment for me. Barbara acted like this was some foreign concept and refused to work with me, so I stopped payment on my check. There is no way I am going to hand over $170 to them for nothing. NOTHING. They did not process my application, run a credit check, lose out on a renter, NOTHING. Their office was CLOSED from the time I left to when I contacted her the next morning. How is that legal?? Now they are trying to put it on my credit report which will affect my rental history. How can that be legal? They need to train their staff so they are all on the same page, so one person doesn't tell you 1 thing and then you find out that was a lie and you are now on the hook! more

Beware of the contract 6/8/2009

After we signed the contract, they made some changes to it requesting that we initial it. In talking with the lawyer, she said that was illegal to make any changes to a fully executed contract without consent from all parties. Also, my roommate extended/ renewed the lease without my knowledge. I went to the office with concerns that I would be held responsible for this. They offered and recommended for me to sign a roommate lease to protect myself. I signed a roommate release so that I could move out at originally scheduled lease term. I signed the release knowing that I would give up any chance to get my deposit back. It was tied up with the lease that my roommate extended/renewed. Then a few months later, after my ex- roommate decided to move out, I received a bill for the damage she did to the carpet. Not only did I loose my deposit, but I owed for the damage she did eventhough she extended/renewed the lease. These people say one thing and do another. Wolves in sheeps clothing. Seriously, beware of these two-faced office people. more

Not too happy 3/6/2009

The living space is nice, and the landscaping and everything is usually kept clean and nice, but the management is awful. We had our door replaced over a month ago and it's still not painted. They came to paint the inside and they said they'd be back the next sunny, nice day to do the second coat inside and the ouside. Well, lets just say it's been two weeks now with mostly sunny, warm weather, and we have yet to see them... If you are looking for a nice close community, this isn't the right place for you. I don't even know the people who live beside me and have been blamed for a noise disturbance when my family was sound asleep in bed, but still got a lease violation notice... Management is rude and act like you're a burden to them no matter what it is you're discussing with them. The only plus about this place is that it's really dog friendly.... We can't wait to leave! Pros: Nice living space, dog friendly Cons: limited parking, rude management, more

Manager is lame 12/27/2008

This place is very gorgeous indeed but I had soo many issues before I even moved into the place but couldn't back down because of fear over losing the deposit. We had issues finding a cosigner that was compliant and met all the ridiculous standards (as recent grads we were allowed this), which is our problem, I understand. However, Christy (I believe) was terrible at giving us accurate information- failed to mention that we needed an account number for our electricity before receiving the keys.. we didn't find out we were good to go until the Christmas eve, I remember asking her if everything was okay, she said yes. We come the 27th to move our stuff with a uhaul from San Marcos but were denied our keys due to this problem, there was nothing that we could do without this account number and Austin energy had been closed since christmas eve, but we had filed for service online. The general staff was pretty considerate about the situation but the manager (Barbara I think) would not even come out of her office to talk to us about it. In reality- not a big deal having to change our move in date but the fact of the matter is that Christy failed to give us important information about move in and Barbara didn't have the decency to even come out of her office although we had asked to speak to her personally. Due to "fair housing laws" we weren't even allowed access to our garage. They tried to turn the situation around on us, I'm not really looking forward to their rudeness in the future, I will be complaining to corporate even if it doesn't really do anything... Pros: nice and good sized apartments, new, good deal, location Cons: staff does not know much, manager is rude more

Nice Big Apartment Place 8/1/2008

I really like what you get for your money at Regency. It IS kept up well, and the staff is actually nice and comes across as genuine. I think honesty is a good policy to have, and if they were short staff I don't see the harm in them saying so. I like having a good relationship with apartment staff and it does a tenant good in the long run. If I had an emergency, I might be concerned if it wasn't taken care of quickly. I've pretty much always had repair work done in my apartment in a good response time, but haven't asked them to do much technically. The apartment is great for my needs and the location is so convenient I must emphasize. I recommend getting a reserved space so you never have problems parking. I plan to be here at least another year or two depending on my plans and priorities. Make what you will of this review. It's a pretty place. more

Don't be fooled 6/3/2008

The location of the apartments are nice, and they keep the landscaping always meticulous, to say the least. However, the management is disappointing. Every time you ask for a maintenance request, not only do they make it seem as if you are burdening them, there is always an excuse (from management) as to why the request is (or will not) be executed on time. There came to a point that it took over 8 days to unclog my shower that I had already attempted numerous times to combat with Draino. I was provided with excuse after excuse (short staffed or what have you) as to why my request took so long to remedy (while in the meantime I hade to take over a week's worth of showers in a smelly and clogged tub). In the end, the only response that I got was a reiteration of the lack of staff and, therefore, lack of service through the apartment. The only way that I can express my frustration is to say that I have been in Austin for 8 year,s 5 of the first in dorms and college apartments. The last two year was with a wonderful apartment complex for which I provided rave reviews. I am not even the bit particular about minor details about apartment living. However, when it comes down to it, not only was the management rude and defensive, but they made me feel like my concerns were somehow not valid and a burden. Even after contacting corporate, I received a letter reiterating the excuses as to why, somehow, their services had been exceeded, and my small maintenance request not only invalid, but also a burden on an obvious mis-managed business. I will never deal with this company again and cannot wait to take my living experience, money, and effort, elsewhere... Pros: Convenience, Location, Curb Appeal Cons: Management, Customer Sevice, Ethic, Overall Satisfaction more
