Regal Crossgates is what I would consider to be the premier update mega movie plex in the area. Since they closed the other theater located in Crossgates, it has become the movie ...

Imax that is the bare Iminimum 3/6/2010

The Imax theatre has a screen that is about 40% smaller than an actual Imax screen. They would be far more honest to advertise 'slightly bigger than average' screens. The projection work for the movie Alice in Wonderland was awful, the contrast was too dark and the sound was frequently distorted. Projection issues may be an isolated incident but I doubt it. The 3D glasses that were provided to view the movie with were cheap, shoddy and too small... another example of the theatres lack of concern for itt's customers. The restrooms were rather foul in both odor and appearance. The concession stand prices are very high even compared to the normative high movie theatre prices. The chairs are not comfortable and packed in too tightly. Aside from the awful , this theatre has many qualities which are merely mediocre. Pros: Easy crossgates mall location Cons: The theatre dishonestly boasts an Imax theatre more

It's really ridiculous! 5/31/2002

As ""5/8 Anonymous"" wrote, the ticket prices have increased. This really is ridiculous especially since you can go to Hoyt's 12 (same mall, only upstairs) and see a movie for less ($7.75). Even though Hoyt's 18 does have more screens, more choices in snacks, and stadium style seating to pack heards of people in, the comfort and screen of the 12 is perfectly acceptable. They are showing all current movies -albeit maybe not the same ones necessarily- but why am I going to pay $1.25 more when I can just go upstairs and see a great movie. OR, better yet, see the same movie but go 15 minutes drive time further away to Rotterdam, Schenectady, Clifton Park or downtown Albany and pay $2-$7 less and get the same thing???? That extra $5 or so can pay for the popcorn and drink!!!! What a rip off! Pros: multiple selections, frequent times Cons: expensive, crowded more
