First of all, anyone who complains about having to volunteer at a co-operative pre-school clearly doesn't have an idea of what a co-op is about, because yes, you do have to volunteer your time. That's kind of the point. I was working part-time when my child attended, and found that it was not hard to take care of my commitments, and people were willing to work with my schedule, which was nice. It was also very nice to go in and see how things operated, and the teacher was wonderful. She is very good with the kids and uses a gentle and friendly approach with them. It's a small building, but the space is well-used and things are taken care of. The facility is clean, and the parents were great to work with. I had no complaints, and never felt 'deceived'. If I hadn't gone back to work full-time, my child would still be attending.
Pros: parental involvement, great teacher
Cons: more time-consuming than traditional preschool
