taking my pets there for years 2/9/2011

Best veterinarian ever. Really knew each of my pets. I am in my late 20's but have had my pets going there since I was in elementary school. He and his staff were always kind to my as a child and have always been extremely helpful and caring in times when we were concerned about our pets' health. I don't ever remember waiting long in the waiting room, or being pressured to buy anything. I no longer have pets now, but my parents still use him even though they no longer live in Pasadena. I wouldn't recommend anyone else! more

RBAH Specializes in Individual Attention 6/14/2010

I am the owner and doctor at Red Bluff Animal Hospital and I am sorry we didn't exceed your expectations Shoreline887. Your experience is the exception, not the norm You can check out more reviews by searching yahoo local. In fact, it was a client who disagreed with it so she brought this too my attention when they were looking for our web site. As an explanation, and not an excuse, my other doctor was on vacation the first 2 weeks of June so I was by myself. Also, a technician, who was expected to come back after having a baby, chose to stay at home and I have another technician on vacation. To top it all off, I have had a severe outbreak of Parvo in this area and these patients require a lot of time. That being said, you did admit that you did not have to wait long to be seen. We schedule routine health exams and vaccinations for 15 minutes. If your animal is sick, we schedule 30 minutes or even 45 minutes. If your pet requires more time, then we will make arrangements for you to drop off your pet so we can give them the time they require. You said we are always crowded but have you ever wondered why? There must be a reason they keep coming back and obviously we failed to show you what that reason is. We are constantly trying to improve. Where you greeted immediately upon arrival? Where you escorted into the exam room promptly? Did the technician pet your dog/cat before asking you a history? Did they draw blood and run any tests prior to getting the doctor? Did the doctor acknowledge your dog/cat and pet them. Did he seem genuinely interested in your pet? Did he ask you if there were any issues that needed to be addressed. Did he explain what he was looking at, ie. Ears look irritated, teeth appear healthy, Lymph nodes within normal range, etc. Did the doctor tell you what to expect after the vaccines? Did a technician hold your pet while you checked out and offered to carry them to your car for you? Was the receptionist pleasant? I am not saying we did all these things, I am saying this is just some of what we are trained to do. I have a great staff and they are trained to do everything they are qualified to do so I can do on the doctor tasks. Most people don't realize how expensive it is to run a Veterinary hospital. I can charge higher prices, I can sell you products you don't need, and I can run unnecessary test. Instead, I try to keep my cost as low as possible by seeing more patients. I believe in the quality time not the quantity time. Once again, I fell short with you so I do hope you give me and my hospital another chance to demonstrate to you why we are busy and why our clients keep coming back. Pros: I agree, it is service Cons: I need a bigger facility with more doctors more

Great doctor, great staff 6/10/2010

I also loved the fact that I was seen on time. I loved the fact the doctor didnt waste my time or my money. Yes, they were busy but there is obviously a reason. Like restaurants, the bad ones are always slow but the good ones are always busy. When my dog Rascal needed is yearly shots, I was seen on time, the nurses ran the tests and got his shots ready. The doctor came in, petted Rascal, found his favorite itchy spot, then began his exam. He noticed he needed his teeth cleaned, gave him a clean bill of health, and gave him his shots. The nurse held him while I paid my bill and even offered to help me carry him out. Where do you find service like that? The next visit my Rascal was sick and throwing up. The nurses started some tests, once again the doctor came in and petted Rascal first. He asked some questions and recommended running blood tests. I couldnt afford the test so he gave me some doggy pepto and some antibiotics and said if he gets worse or if doesnt get better in 3 days to call. He didnt make me feel guilty because I didnt have enough money. Guess what, Rascal was better by the next day. I have recommended Red Bluff to my friends and people I work with. If you want great service, to be seen on time, and for the doctor to actually acknowledge your pet, then you need to bring them here! Pros: SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE more

Red Bluff Animal Hospital lacks individual attention 6/7/2010

I love the fact that I don't have to wait long to be seen at this clinic but the amount of time the doctor spends in the room is minimal. The place is always crowded so I can see why he does this but if my animal were sick and didn't need just vaccines I think I would take him somewhere else to get more personal attention. Pros: Don't have to wait long Cons: Too crowded and Doctor seems rushed more

Red Bluff Animal Hospital is CARING 8/20/2009

I visited for the first time when my yorki needed treatment for his skin allergies. I told of how another vet over medicated and cost a fortune for treatments. They were great and gave me exactly what my yorkie needed without a huge charge. My dog and I are so appreciative. more

Very good care 4/15/2009

After having one vet for 25 years and just recently moving to a new area, my aging dog needed some care from a new vet. I consider Red Bluff Animal Hospital a great place. The two doctors that have seen my dog showed great care and knowledge. The staff was indeed superb. I and my dog are very lucky. more
