We have eaten here 3 nights in a row. I have had grilled shrimp a la grecque sauce twice. It's one of the best shrimp meals I've ever had. more

My family and I went to the Red Snapper in this past weekend, and we were very surprised and impressed with the service and food. I had the Seafood Platter and was excellent to every bite. My wife had the Blackened Snapper and it was great, I know this because I ate some of hers as well. It is no problem to give this establishment FIVE STARS for me. Thanks for a great time and great meal. We will be back again on the next trip in the area. more

Fresh seafood like they claim in their menu! Red snapper has great fried appetizers. Both fried calamari and fried vegetable I have tried were good, lightly fried and not too greasy. My fried snapper and fried oyster were definitely fresh. Oyster had it's fresh sweetness in a crunchy breading. Waiter took our orders and was very flexible when I requested fried oyster rather than fried shrimp with my snapper. Drinks were constantly refilled. Food portion was huge. more

Red Snapper is a great restaurant on the beach for lunch. I know it is a seafood restaurant but they have the best chicken fried steak sandwich I ever ate. It melts in your mouth. I have tried a lot of steak sandwichses and have never found one to compare to Red Snapper's. more

This restaurant IS as good as it gets. This fish is tender, the dishes are full of buttery goodness. I ordered the Red Snapper New Orleans. It was delicious. My husband ordered the Crab Florentine. It is worth the trip. We also had the Fresh Lump Crabmeat cocktail. For dessert we ate the Blueberry Cobbler. It was delicious. We dined on a Friday evening about 6pm. more

Absolutely love this place! I have been eating here since the 80's.. Always seems to have very fresh seafood. Love the fried snapper/shrimp combo. Get the fried chips too!! Also amazing gumbo. Very tasty!!! We try to go on Thursday nights for the pecan crusted red snapper. If your in the area give this place a try. You won't be disapointed! more

After a visit to a client site I drove down a couple minutes to Surfside and ate at the Red Snapper. There isn't much in the way of restaurants in the area but I'd heard about this one before. I had the gumbo which tasted as expected. Not the best gumbo but not the worst. I had the jumbo shrimp which were butterflied and deep fried quite nicely. Their fries are fried sliced potatoes and quite tasty. Overall, I thought the food was decent and would go back again. The exterior and interior isn't much but that is part of the charm of it. more

This is an amazingly good seafood spot in a small beach community. The prices are perfect for this kind of getaway and the seafood was fresh as could be. I read some of the other reviews and hope that the people that think it is overpriced will be sure to stay in the big crowded city where they belong. I started with the tasty Warsteiner then I had a garden salad and finally the Shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo... the bread was soooo goood too. My friends had the New Orleans Snapper and the Grilled Snapper, I tried the Grilled and found it to be very moist and tasty. I am back in DFW now and can't wait to go back to try the Jumbo Shrimp! more

It's hard to find good seafood in NW Oklahoma so when we are on the coast, I eat as much as I can. We were staying on Galveston Island and started looking on the west end for a good fish joint. We found one! It's a fair drive to Surfside Beach from mid island but the trip was worth it. The restaurant is a casual almost family atmosphere. It was clean and neat. The servers and staff were attentive. The beer and wine list were good. Mrs Eva had the snapper New Orleans - the Alfredo sauce was good and the fish was nicely prepared. I had the snapper Pontchartrain. The fish was lightly breaded and baked, then smothered in the sauce. Both dishes were very tasty. We were well pleased with our dining choice and enjoyed the experience very much. more

My wife and I had a nice quiet dinner. We shared a bottle of wine and my wife was surprised that they carried a Malbec. The red snapper was delicious. Wish I could have given our waitress a score of 10. She was attentive to our needs without hovering and paced our meal perfectly. I am sorry that I didn't get her name, but will definitely ask to be seated at one of her tables next time. We live in the area and will definitely return to this establishment for dinner in the future. more

Red Snapper is the ""Upscale"" restaurant on Surfside Beach, but still maintains a casual atmosphere. Seafood menu more than just ""Fish & Chips"", with specialty dishes, all cooked by the Owner/Chef. Food is excellent, prices about average for quality and variety. Very busy on weekends, in season, so may be short wait to be seated. Try it, you'll like it. more

If you are looking for good fresh seafood when in Freeport, then this is a great place. Had some of the best fried shrimp I have ever had. Salad was good,and our side order was home fries, which were actually homemade potato chips - they were a very pleasant surprise. Will definitely go back again. more

very tasty new orleans style sea food. < $20/per plate. Gwen was so nice, she served me with dignity, even thought I was tanked because the bronco's lost their game to the Ravens. She must have really liked my wife, she gave her a very large peanut brittle that Gwen is trying to promote. It's good, I recommend it, her and the Red Snapper. more

The Red Snapper is in an unimposing building right off Blue Water Highway in Freeport. But there the brush with average ends. The food is great, with friendly service and reasonable prices. We often stop there to eat on the way to Galveston, or we will pick up to go. Either way the experience is superb. It is not to be missed. more

Had lunch here today and I must say it was just excellent. I had the broiled shrimp and it could not have been better and I would say extremely fresh. The service was also just excellent. Lunch was around $20.00 with a drink. more
