Absolutely disgusting!! 5/7/2008

This place is awful. The place is in shambles and extrememely poorly staffed. After being very rudely greeted at the front door, we found the cheap drinks everyone raved about. I now see why they are so cheap. I guess they assume that their patrons are going for quantity over quality. I should have just gone with beer. Pros: Ummmmm, lets see....beer? Cons: Rude staff, dirty bathrooms, terrible service, bad drinks, cover charge more

first time experience 4/23/2008

This was my first experience at red river and I think it was great. I have already started telling friends about it and planning out next visit. I didn't know names of drinks but I told the bartender things I liked and she whipped it up good and quick. The atmosphere was really fun and inviting. I didn't see any problems with the staff or facility. I thought it was great and would recodmend it to anyone. Pros: fun environment Cons: smoking inside more

Friendliest Bar in town 4/14/2008

Despite the rude doorman, the people there are really nice and friendly. It has a great at-ease, friendly atmosphere. You can have fun without worrying about impressing anybody. It was amazing. Pros: Parking, friendly atmosphere Cons: EXTREMELY rude doorman more

Love the place 4/8/2008

Alot of people ""DOWN"" Red River, I do not understand why. I have gone quite a bit and found it to be a really great place to hang out and have a good time. I have never once had any problems with any of the staff, the bathrooms were always clean, and had really cheap drinks, go in with 20-30 bucks and leave feeling pretty darn good! There is always more than enough parking. So all n all i give this place about a 9 on the 1-10 scale! Pros: great music, cheap drinks Cons: it does get a little crowded but what bar or club doesnt? more

RUDE STAFF MEMBERS!! 3/17/2008

This place has the RUDEST staff members I have ever met. #1 the Doorman is Always rude #2 they go around FINDING reasons to kick you out. The old cop at the front is a disgrase to the Precinct. He called my besfriend ""Cripple boy."" my Bestfriend has MS and was in a walker and he has the nerve to say this out loud and in uniform. Do not support this bar-- there are plenty of other bars in houston that deserve to have your business. Pros: Good Music, Cheap Drinks Cons: Horrible Staff more

red river...terrible, avoid all together 3/1/2008

me and my wife went to red river and the front doorsman treated us like total trash. they told us to get out and that i had too much to drink and i had only had 2 beers...meanwhile there are 10 other drunk cowboys yelling and being obnoxious and intoxicated that were admitted right in, the bathrooms there are terrible, they will try to get you arrested if they do not like you, and there are young and obnoxious people there. the drinks are cheap, but the discount is not worth the risk you take going there. oh and by the way, my truck was broken in there, and another time i tried again my window was busted out from some hillbilly pealing out in the dirt parking lot and busted out my passenger window and the managers told me tell someone who cares. this place is not a good place to go and if you do go there...take a taxi or take a beater car Pros: cheap drinks Cons: no managment, break ins in parking lot, rejection based on nothing more

They could do better, but they dont care 2/20/2008

Red River has been around for some time. The parking lot is in shambles, most of the employees are rude, the Harris county sheriff at the front door is not friendly, the morbidly obese guy who takes your money at the front door is bitter and rude, and the projection screen is fuzzy and can be barely watched and no one seems to care to fix it. It is full of Teenagers, nothing wrong with that, but if you are looking for an older crowd this is not the place to go. The only thing good about this place and i repeat the only thing, is that the drinks are incredibly cheap, which is the only reason to go to this place and makes waiting in line 10 minutes to get them that much more bearable. You would think that they would have another main bar there to help with the massive influx of people, but they don't seem to care. I have personally dealt with a bar in this situation and all they are doing is squeezing out every last dime they can from it . This place is one of last resort for me and will only go to it if there is nothing else going on. Pros: cheap drinks Cons: rude employees, overcrowded, filthy restrooms more

Good place to go 10/5/2007

I have been going to Red River for a while now and though I'm only 18 and cannot drink, I think it is one of the most homely places I have ever been. Yeah, the cop at the front door isn't too nice but once you pass those doors it is an awesome experience!! The music is good. They know just when to change it up. And I love how they play a certain song at the same time every night!! :) The people are nice too. I would recommend this place to any age in a heartbeat!! Pros: Good variety of music Cons: Its a long drive from where I live.. more

Pro : Red River 8/31/2007

This place its cool if you dont do nothing stupid and it your under age and drink or your drunk and get kick out well then whos stupid now. By the way who care's if the people that work there are old you gonna date them or something. lol I been going since I turn 18. Pros: You dont spend a lot of money Cons: You cant drink if your under 21 more

I had a change of heart 8/14/2007

DJ, why do you care what I think so much? You know what, I went back to this bar and actually had a great time. They play country first and then play hip hop, so its pretty diverse. I didnt even talk to any of the staff this time around although I talked to a lot of the people that go every weekend and it was so much fun. Also to the DJ that wrote that little jab... you can say what you want but Im not fat at all, Im smokin hot but you'll never know who I am... and actually you arent bad looking, but your not friendly at all. If your gonna be stuck up, Im gonna tell you the truth. I saw one of you recently and your attractive, but your not healthy and you act like an Ahole to newcomers. So thats my opinion and Im entitled. Drinks are super cheap and the place is huge and just a fun time. I may go back... its worth checking out and just because a lot of minors are there, doesnt really matter. They keep to themselves and its kind of cool they have a safe place like this to come to on the weekends. Pros: Its a cool old rodeo joint with cheap drinks. Cons: The waitresses are cool, but the bartenders, Dj's, etc could be a little more hospitable. more

Avoid Red River like the plague 7/20/2007

Went on a weeknight and the line was out the door. With under age kids. If you're under drinking age, this is the place for you. They pack 'em in and line 'em up. All under 20. Anyone over 21 however? Not a club you want to patronize. If you are naive enough to order alcohol, it takes the waitress half an hour to finally get it to you. Shots? Out of the question! Not only do they not know half the shots that are ""trendy"" these days, they will now allow you to do a shot without a waitress standing there to collect the glass after. IF you're into the kiddos and liked being stalked by officers while you drink, then you would be very confortable at this place. Otherwise, choose a more adult friendly place to patronize. Pros: None to speak of. Music old. Staff old. Cons: Mile ling lines for what amounts to a teen hang out. more

Cheap drinks, always crowded 11/13/2006

If you're looking for a place with cheap drinks and country music, this is the place. There's a cover charge (I think $5) and drinks are super cheap (50 cent beers, etc) Pros: cheap drinks, good music Cons: long lines more
