Best

Tasty, friendly and fast.

Worst

Decent prices but food is subpar. Orange chicken made with scraps of overcooked chicken meat. No rice given either.

Excellent Thai 6/17/2008

Some friends of mine took me out to LA the other day for Thai food and it was so worth the trip. We had a number of dishes, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Volcano Chx, Spicy Fried Rice (not so keen on this one had a weird spice that didn't quite sit right with me) Reg. Fried Rice, Chx Satay, Tom Yum Soup (too spicy for me, but still tasty) and sticky rice with mango. Everything was delish and the service was excellent. Parking was a bit weird (valet to drive your car a foot) but thats LA I guess, and only 3 bucks so no big deal. more

very mediocre 5/24/2008

we got take out from RCA, so we can't comment on the service. the food was mediocre - i'd stay away from the seafood all together. tom yum was flavorless as was chicken satay. papaya salad wasn't bad, but the shrimps were kind of gnarly (we asked them for no shrimp, though something was lost in communication). drunken noodles were entirely passable. cheap, but i don't think i'd go back even for the price. Pros: cheap Cons: food more

Amazing Thai 4/6/2008

The three dishes we got as first timers to RCA was Panang Curry Chicken, Angel Wings and Crab Pad Thai. I have to say all three dishes were excellent! We asked for spicy and indeed we got SPICY! RCA is a bit far for us but we will definitely make a worthwhile trip once a month to dine there. Best of all, we found a Thai supermarket nearby and we got our Thai Tom Yum Ramen. It's a must try for Thai food lovers! Pros: Tasty authentic spicy Thai food Cons: Not the best neighborhood in LA area more

Good place for late dining. 1/15/2008

I've been to Red Corner Asia several times. The service is ok, however the foods are outstanding. I'd recommend the Crispy Duck Larb or Papaya Salad. Pros: Late Dining Cons: Unnecessary Valet Parking Service more

Overall, a satisfying experience 11/2/2007

The video on Citysearch was compelling enough for me to give this place a try. I took my here for my wife's birthday and we ordered a bunch of dishes. Of the things we tried, the dishes I would order again are the volcano chicken (just cause it's on fire and fairly tasty), the crab pad thai (our favorite dish), crispy duck with panang curry (it's a bit spicy), the chinese broccoli and crispy pork, the fried rice and the tom yum soup. I wasn't a huge fan of the steamed mussels and my niece did not care too much for the spare ribs. The food is good but the service could have been a little better. We were waiting awhile before they took our order but after that, everything was ok. The decor of the restaurant was nice and the prices for the dishes were as good as all the other Thai restaurants in the Hollywood area. Pros: Nice menu variety. Crab Pad Thai. Comfortable atmosphere Cons: Parking and inconsistent service more

Progressive and Traditional 9/12/2007

I am a foodservice proffesional and am often highly critical about Asian establishments, but RCA stands out. I've eaten there twice and both times the food was excellent. My wife is Thai and adamant as to what qualifies as Thai food or Thai food for Farangs, which is the source of many culinary arguments between us. The menu covers an array of traditional Thai dishes that equivocally ""Thai Soul food"" as well as the those that are still traditional but influenced by Japanese, Chinese, and Indian cuisines. I've eaten those too many times to feel adventurous so I ordered the Volcano chicken, One of RCA's signature dishes. I also ordered the Rad Na for my wife's sake, and the Angel wings, because I had still yet to try those. Each dish was amazing. The Angel wings Trump any buffalo wings from any sports bar, grill, or Pizza parlor anywhere, hands down. The Rad Na was as good as any I have had and generous in portion size. The Volcano chicken though was something to behold. The Presentation was dramatic to say the least, and our servers dexterity was put to the test as she maneuvered through the tables with a whole chicken being licked with flames on a sizzle plate. The chicken was stuffed with assorted vegtables and were not overcooked mush. The chicken was moist, and the skin was saturated with flavor that I imagined was brandy or soju which must have also been used to create the flaming presentation. My wife loved it too. It was unarguably not a fusion dish, and I won our ongoing debate that New Thai creations are still Thai food thanks to this one dish. My only complaint is that I wish there had been more vegetables stuffed into the fiery bird. Pros: Well lit you can see your food! Lots of seating, progressive/classic dishes Cons: Service could be improved, this might be a retention problem I've only eaten there twice. more

yumma yumma yumma 7/25/2007

You can enjoy some delicious food guilt-free, bring your friends and have a good old time. Anything on the menu would be a great choice... more

pretty good stuff 7/25/2007

Had only the extremely basic pad Thai and a Thai iced tea - don't hate. I had a good meal though, and thought the place was pretty cool... more

What a disappointment! 6/27/2007

After reading all of these great reviews, we were really disappointed with the food at RCA. Yes, the decor is a bit cafeteria like and yes, the tv?s are out of place, but if the food was top notch it wouldn?t have mattered. We love Thai food and this was our fourth attempt since moving to LA from San Francisco. The only item remotely good was the chicken coconut soup, which was excellent. The calamari was awful: very fishy and sliced way to thick. The fried tofu was tasteless- seemingly without even any salt and pepper. Salmon was also fishy and overwhelmed by the very low grade shrimps that sat atop it. We really got the feeling that all of the fish products were very low grade. The phad thai was also terrible- and don?t ask me how but it was runny. Definitely will not go back. Pros: Tom Gha soup Cons: everything else more

Best Thai food in hollywood and the best service and mangement in the business!! 4/23/2007

Great food , Great enviroment, the best service in town..... Very clean and wide selections. Must see for yourself. more

Relaxing & Comfortable, an asset to Thai Town 4/18/2007

I live, work and mostly play in Thai Town. This is the best place you can eat comfortably and relax in a more spacious setting, there is room between the tables. I do every week and often see my friends there. Pros: Lots Cons: I do think the wine list needs attention, perhaps a little more variety would help. more

I really wanted to like this place 3/11/2007

As a Thai Town resident for 4 years I've tried all of the thai places around here. I went to RCA twice and both times were a let down. Bad service...they practically ignore you. I had to go up and ask for the check myself both times I went. The food is ok...not great. Not as good as a lot of the other thai restaurants. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is that it's trying to look hip. I will never go back there. There are too many amazing thai restaurants within a block from RCA. Pros: brightly painted Cons: below average food and service more
