I went to The Sofa Co based on a coworker's recommendation.....I placed an order with them on 4/10 and was told it would be completed in 2-3 weeks. I got a call yesterday (exactly 3 weeks from when I ordered -- yay!) saying it was ready and they could deliver it tomorrow (which is now today, Friday) from 6 to 9 am. Awesome, right? \r \r Too bad whoever I spoke with put Saturday in their system even though they told me Friday. I took the morning off of work, waited in my apartment, and when no one showed up in the time I was told over the phone, I left 2 messages asking where the delivery was, assuming it was running late. On my third call, I finally got a hold of someone who told me it is in their system for tomorrow. When I asked them what they could do for my inconvenience (the person I spoke with not only said TOMORROW yesterday but also said FRIDAY, both of which are TODAY) and my taking time off of work and rearranging my schedule, I was told they cannot do anything -- their system has the correct information. And the earliest a supervisor could get back to me is Monday (in 3 days!). Wow, they appreciate my business, don't they? Unfortunately, my handwritten note in my planner doesn't count and my recollection of our conversation. I now know to tape record my conversations with them in the future. Uhhh....what future? No matter how great a product they may have (I don't even know if it is good since I haven't gotten it yet), if you offer bad customer service, there is no way I am returning or recommending you to anyone. Good luck to anyone who decides to order with them -- ask them to send you a screen shot of their system when confirming delivery so you have ""back up"". Cons: Really bad customer service more

I went to the SM location and bought a couch on clearance from their warehouse. The next day they call me and tell me that the sofa was sold two weeks ago! I needed the couch for the weekend because I had just moved and had a friend coming from out of town. The owners said if I bought a new couch, they would give me a $100 discount. Big deal. That's the price of shipping. What a scam. more

The Sofa Company is just AWESOME! The styles are on trend with plenty of options to fit your budget. It is totally customizable, and their team is there to help you. The customer service is OUTSTANDING! Angela, Ryan, Hannah & Peter are so friendly and helpful (and patient too-- I had trouble making decisions and they were just great!) Pete's a great guy . you should consider yourself very lucky to finally have this guy on your side. God help the ones that are on his bad side. there are very few people in this world like him. he didn't deserve the treatment you people gave him initially. Although he's had a change of heart in your case and everything is settled, i am not quite as forgiving. He's always been truthful, fair, and easy-going, and always gives his fellow man the benefit of the doubt regardless of ones status in life. rarely, does he make any derogatory statements about anyone. i hate to see anyone mess with a guy like him. therefore, i'll never use your services especially after reading all the other reviews online nor will i remove this review either. i do not wish to be contacted about this any further by anyone. i've requested Pete not give you my number but i will give you five stars only because he requested i do so. Shame on you in the first place. i bought my sofa elsewhere and i am very pleased. more

Custom made both our sofas. WE LOVE THEM! So much we had two ottomans made. Can't wait to see them. extra firm and the right height is the way to go and no where else will they do that except at The Sofa Company. I had a great experience at The Sofa Company! They have a lot of different styles so I really got the feeling walking out that I was going to have something that was all my own, rather than a pre-packed department store look, even though I was kindof nervous because I couldn't see what I was buying beforehand. Our sofas came earlier this week and I feel great about everything we picked out! The sales person really helped guide us to the right stuff! Pros: Great service and selection, good prices! Cons: No parking lot, had to park on the street. more

i'd been looking high and low for a new sofa and couldn't find the exact one i wanted. i liked the sofa design but didn't like the fabric, or i liked the fabric but hated the color. i'm glad i ended up getting mine at the sofa company. there were so many designs and fabrics to choose from. the people were incredibly helpful and friendly. most importantly, my new sofa is great! it looks good and it's really comfortable. if you're looking for a new couch, i highly recommend this place. whatever your style, there's no way you won't find what you're looking for. more

I ordered a sectional and a chaise. Sofa took 8 weeks to finish. On the first delivery, only the sectional showed up and the delivery had no idea about a chaise. The sofa's quality was bad, much worst than the ones they have in the showroom. the cusion sizes were all too small, they have gaps in between them, should be flushed instead. I informed customer service and they said I would have to bring to cushions back to their factory to have them redo the. It's suppose to take 2 weeks. It's been a month now and they're still not done. How long does it take to make 3 cushions??? \r \r Stay away!! Go to Plummers instead! Cons: bad quality, bad customer service more

A friend of mine had the couch that i wanted for my new place. It was one of those european high end brands. I couldn't find it nor did i want to spend a lot of money so my friend referred me to the Sofa Company in Culver City. The Sofa Company made a copy for me with modifications to fit our needs/place. we get compliments on it all the time. Its beautiful and functional! It was a great experience from start to finish. the sofa company is THE BOMB! i had a fat lounging chair and ottoman that i bought on the east coast. it is such a big piece and it's an eye popping color so i thought there was no way i could find anything to go with it in my new, bigger living room. i went in there with really no idea. the designer working there was great and she was able to take a piece they have and modify it so it would match. the ultra suede is the BEST and most practical. get the teflon coat... it's so worth it. great service, prompt delivery, they do it all. two thumbs up!! more

We bought a couch here a few years ago, and we've been extraordinarily happy with it. We've got a bit of a strange living room layout--the couch had to both take a 90-degree turn and fit below some low street-facing windows. Also, the dimension tolerances were tight, since we wanted to fill a wall all the way to (but not touching) a wall heater. The sofa that they shipped us was exactly what we were aiming for. It fit perfectly into the spot and is very comfortable--to the point where we'll now recline with a laptop out in the living room rather than work in our home office. The best part is that the couch has held up great during 3 years of use. That, plus the fact that we were able to fully customize the style, fabric, and color will keep us coming back. more

I saw something that I thought would be perfect, but outrageously expensive, for my living room in one of those expensive Italian furniture stores on Robertson Blvd. The Sofa Company made a copy for me (with modification to fit my living room) for a fraction of the price. It's beautiful and functional, and even better after the custom fit. I was very please with my purchase. This is my go to place for furniture big or small. The Sofa Company has got to be the perfect shopping experience! Very helptul, no pressure, practically any sofa imaginable and great prices! Peter, as everyone seems to know, is wonderful! He was extremely patient, very knowledgeable and beyond competent. The delivery guys were very helpful too, making sure the sofa was where I wanted it and that I knew how to work the pump for the sofa bed. Most delivery companies drop and run! The sofa and extra pillows are very well made and they will definitely be My Upholstery Company from now on. As soon as we can find the fabrics, we will be having more cushions and a chair made! After spending weeks searching for a sofa I was ready to give up. All the stores I went to had so many limitations, and their selection was so small. And if they did have custom options, they took like 10 - 12 weeks to have anything made! Then one day I was driving home and passed ""The Sofa Company"" on Lincoln and the search was over! They have so many options that it was easy to find something I really liked (although a challenge to narrow it down with so many options!!). I finally chose the ""Kahuna"" style because it was extra deep and they could make it the right size for my place. I just recieved delivery this week and its exactly what I was hoping for!!! Peter was THE GREATEST! I brought my mother to the store to buy her first sofa in 35 years and needless to say it was an ordeal. Peter was so patient and understanding. He gave her lots of choices and recommendations then all of the time she needed to make her decision. We were there over 2 hours and Peter made it a wonderful experience. Pros: customer service, variety of choices Cons: hot in store more
