Long wait, doughy crust, bad customer service 7/19/2007

We walked in to order a large pizza with 2 toppings and a caesar salad to go. We were told it would take about 20-30 minutes. We waited a little over an hour. At the 45 min mark, we walked up to the counter to check on the order. They said, the cooks hadn't even started on it. They got on it at that point. There was no apology, just indifference. They were not friendly and had no customer service skills. When we got the pizza home, the crust was doughy. The salad was ok, at least. The dressing was given in a separate container, so the lettuce wouldn't get soggy. Of course, a salad is not hard to put together. I would not go back to Romio's on Greenwood. I might try a different Romio's location. more

You can count on the pizza! 10/6/2006

I'm fortunate enough to have a boss that buys myself and my co-workers lunch once a week. We frequently have Romio's delivered. We order pizzas, salad and bread sticks. The pizzas are consistently good, nice toppings and yummy crust. The spinach and greek salads are always good. However the standard dinner salad is iceberg lettuce that doesn't always look too fresh. The bread sticks have a nice garlic butter spread, but the bread can often taste old. Delivery at lunch time is 99% on time. Dining in house is a standard experience. The interior decorative effects create a somewhat dark and depressing atmosphere. It is not always as clean as it could be. Parking can be hard as there are only a few spots for Romios and the McDonalds next door is very strict about their lot. Stick with the pizza and you are good to go! more

Romio's Pizza & Pasta 8/16/2005

A city this size allows/forces one to construct one’s own categories of particular food/beverage experiences, and there are enough solid coffees/coffeeshops/cafes that you can micromanage exactly the outcome you want. You trade down two percentiles in one category to trade up in another. Although there are substantially fewer solid pizza options, there are enough that compromise (even if ordering alone) becomes inevitable. I usually give up the struggle and order from Romio’s. Henceforth, I speak of the basic pie (traditional crust, cheese, and toppings). A pizza suffers delivery like every newborn slapped by a doctor. Even at its worst, however, a pie delivered from Romio’s is substantially better (and greasier) than the best available from most other places. The crust is doughier than I usually like, and the sauce slightly sweet. The cheese, however, and whatever its artificial content, is vicious (having the nature of vice). Lots and lots of vicious cheese. Wonderful. more
