Small town book store with big town service 10/19/2005

The Raven Bookstore is one of my top picks for bookstores in Lawrence. Some of their most interesting features are their friendly staff and how they are willing to order any book from a larger supplier if they dont have it in stock. Unfortunatly, the customer that just wants to walk in and find a book is not as welcome here as in other better stocked stores. The limited selection is the only flaw I can see though. more

Nice Bookstore 9/29/2005

The Raven Bookstore is located in downtown Lawrence. This is a very nice bookstore. The bookstore is always in a great order and well maintained. It is smaller sized bookstore but they always have the new books in stock. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The bookstore also holds different events during the year. more

The Raven book store is a locally owned book store that specializes in mysteries; however, it also has good travel, current fiction, and children's sections. The owners and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. They also sponsor readings and guest authors. Support a local store and shop at The Raven. more

I love this little bookstore 8/17/2005

Tucked away in downtown...this little bookstore is so cute. It reminds me of the movie " you have mail" The staff is so friendly. The store is organized and easy to find books. The books seem a little pricey, but I don't mind investing a little more in a locally owned shop. more

A nice hometown bookstore 8/10/2005

While it's not the hugest shop like a chain store, The Raven is one of my favorite bookstores in town. The employees are super friendly and will help you find a book or order one for you. They have release parties for Harry Potter just like the big chains and they're probably more interesting anyways. The store is quaint and the selection is limited, but they will always gladly order any title you wish from the supplier. I love shopping at the Raven! Almost as much as Edgar Allen Poe! more
