Great place for celebrations 2/5/2011

We consider ourselves lucky to have been able to celebrate my husband's birthday at Randolphs last week. We made reservations and they reserved the table right in front of the fireplace. This was an absolute ++ for us, especially since Denver was experiencing sub-zero weather. The staff made sure that we felt welcome by attending to our every need. From management (Joey) and our waiter (Pablo) and to the rest of the staff. Our food was exceptional and we had a wonderful time celebrating an otherwise ordinary day. more

Truely Amazing!!!!! 1/26/2011

I had the most amazing experience at Randolph's!! The service was incredible! Pablo our server was extremely attentive and personable! The manager on duty, Joey made sure we were takin care of and was a joy to talk to! Truely wonderful to have the staff be so focused and involved in the customers needs! The food was cooked to perfection! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for AMAZING service and GREAT food! more

Horrible 12/8/2010

I've had horrible but by far this is the worst experience I've had. My friend and I wanted to be at the bar and order from the bar menu. It was not a busy night but we waited at least 45 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink. We order our drinks and the bartender disappeared, leaving us and others waiting to be served. He returned after ten minutes and finally after 15 minutes we got our drinks for a total of 60 minutes of waiting around. We had menus and were ready to order food and the bartender completely ignored us for about 25 minutes and we finally asked him to take our order. Our food arrived in about 20 minutes.....it was mediocre, nothing special to boast about. The service was horrible! It was not a happening night for the bartender to be having such a difficult time multi tasking. The manager was unfriendly, horrible attitude as well...he did not step in to help this guy who was obviously stressed over 5 people at the bar. The atmosphere was okay, all hotel guests. I would not go back, even if I was paid. I expect good service and if I don't receive it, at least compensate the bad service with a nice attitude. HORRIBLE! more

Fabulous from beginning to end 7/19/2009

My spouse and I tried this restaurant for our 20th anniversary. The food was fabulous! We ordered the crab appetizer, the scallop bisque soup, the seasonal pasta dish (which was hand rolled tortellini in a lemon sauce) and the salmon with crab stuffing special. I honestly don't remember having such a great meal anywhere else. Even the bread and honey butter was great. The service was a little slow because there was only one waiter and there was a huge conference/party, but it made the evening a little more paced and enjoyable. Parking is suppose to be free in the back of the restaurant, but I think you have to valet. It was a little unclear. We ended up finding a spot on the street. The outdoor patio was nice. Lots of traffic, but good people watching. Will definitely return to try their happy hour and/or their jazz nights. Pros: Great food, outdoor patio Cons: Parking more

YUMMY! ""Nuff Said! 6/12/2008

I've read a bunch of these reviews...and must comment... more

relax everyone 6/7/2008

I agree with below, except my food wasn't so good I was just in hte bar, the burger would be good, but the fries were cold, and it took 5 minutes to get ketchup and it was in some little cup. Where was the rest of the bottle? Everyone there was real stressed out and freakin out all over the place. I was nervous just being there. Pros: burger Cons: weird vibe more

ummm... at least they have good food 6/5/2008

""wow"" and ""ugggh!"" Pros: Get this Chef out of there! This restaurant isn't worthy! Cons: Everything but the food, except the frickin chicken! more

i got sucked into the happy hour 4/12/2008

Well I'm a linecook that's bounced around denver's fine dinning scene for a few years so when I went to get my lips wet at Randolph's the other night I was literally blown away. They were giving away a $1 menu and half off wine(wich is the best thing a line cook in denver could wish for) so I sat, drank and ordered some food.I got a lamb chop that was beautifully caramelized with a shallot marmalade and somesort of aged balsamic(that the pure vixen bartender new absolutely nothing about the age nor brand of the balsamic)and a crab cake that was served with parma prosciutto and a black truffle aioli. The food took a little longer then I expected but it was well worth the wait. The lamb was cooked perfect with an essence of mint and the crab cakes had so much crab they should just call them crab burgers. So I had a glass of wine and decided to order there chicken from the restaurant menu. The bartender warned me that the chicken would be a wait for the cooks pan roast it on the bone and carve it to order.I was extatic when I heard this. The lines on the plate were incredible. The chicken was cooked so perfect, the skin crisp and salty and flavored with butter and some extra virgin olive oil. It was presented boneless in thy and airline breast. Literally the cleanist technique I've seen on a plate in Denver. The chicken was wrapped around a strudel of vegetables wich again the bartender could not tell me what was in it, but I tasted fresh peas, caramelized onions(not talking about an onion that got put on top of a griddle for five minutes) but sugary reduced sweet onions, and tomato. There were whole basil and mint leaves ontop of the plate that every couple bites I would accidentaly get one on my fork and it lit up all the flavors from the plate I was devouring. The only bad comment I have to make about this is it could of used more sauce. All in all I could not believe my whole experience. All the while I sat at the bar starring at an empty dinning room asking myself why??????? Pros: Geat food, great wine deals Cons: A little slow, and waitstaff needs a bit more knowledge more

Terrible brunch; outrageous ripoff 3/23/2008

We got there in time for our 2 pm brunch reservation, and were informed that all they had was seating in the bar, which was dark, crowded, and invested with those tiny-ass cocktail tables. I'm a big dude, and I wasn't about to park my big ol' behind at one of those postage-stamp sized tables, so I told the hostess that, despite our having a reservation, we would wait for something to open up in the main dining room. This really seemed to fluster her for some reason, but twenty minutes later, we got seated at a more suitably-sized four-top in the main room. Cons: Many more

Great Food, Easy to get to and no crowd 3/9/2008

I thought the food was excellent, so did my date. I have been eating all over town and there are only three restaurants that I will give 5 stars to. The food was excellent, the service was above average (they ended up not charging the corking fee when the manager offered to decant my wine and could not find a clean decanter). Overall, one of the best dining options in town. I recommend the tuna appetizer, it is the best tuna dish in town. Pros: Excellent Food, Easy Parking, Nice Staff Cons: Like has been said, there were only 4 other tables seated when we came more

A Must 8/24/2007

As the first dinner out for my wife after the birth of our twin boys three weeks prior, and my favorite sister being in town from Chicago, I clearly was looking for a great place to eat. This place certainly did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated like royalty. The host, manager, busboy, and server all came by to assist us with our twin boys. (We had no idea you could flip over a highchair and prop them up on their car seats.) The food was amazing and they were perfect portions. Our server recommended the tuna squares (I NEVER would have ordered them!) and they were absolutely to die for. We also agreed that the mussels were the best we all had ever had. I'm not even sure if they were PEI, but they were great. We ordered two entrees for the three of us. The portions were good but might not have been enough if we had not ordered two apps. Not a problem though as it was perfect for an early evening dinner. We ordered the lobster ravioli. We could not believe how much meat was in the ravioli! Incredible! The sauce that it sat in was PERFECT. We also ordered the chicken breast. I never order chicken at a restaurant but my sister insisted because of it having a creme-fraiche topping. It was actually very light and tasty. The tomatoes were also a great. I have dined at some great restaurants in Denver and would recommend this place to ANYBODY. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the bar on another occasion. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!. Pros: Great all around service and easy parking! more

if you are over 60 and have no taste buds.... 8/11/2007

When we arrived... at prime time on a Saturday night there were only two other tables with people at them, both of the ""elderly"" crowd... the menu was extremely small, but I ordered the grouper and all I could taste was the extreme amount of pepper they put on it. If you want a fine dining experience I would NOT recommend this restaurant. If you are over 60 and have no sense of taste and like a completely silent and empty restaurant that charges you a fortune try this one. Cons: everything more

good food 8/9/2007

I came here for lunch on a weekday. The place was practically empty so you don't really need reservations. It was chilly the day that I went, but the patio area would be nice to sit at when the weather is nice. I had the angus burger which was pretty good. Prices are a little high here--you're definitely paying for the ambiance. Service was good. Pros: good ambiance Cons: pricey more

I will be back for an other try! 1/18/2007

As I am new in town and used to Swiss service standards, i was quiet impressed about the level of served food and quality of service. more

Great Thanksgiving Dinner!!!! 12/1/2006

A great day to have the perfect meal.....And it was!!!!! The service was perfect, the turkey was the best.... more

Worth another trip 9/26/2006

I haven't been to Randolph's in over a year, and I was glad we came back! The dining room was beautiful and intimate, yet still airy and open. Our server was polite and seemed to know everything about wine (even though we don't). The best part was definetely the food. Every dish was fantastic, especially the angel food cake for dessert. The warm berries were delicious. We can't wait to come back. Pros: service, ambiance, food Cons: Couldn't find anything wrong more

A memorable dinner!! 8/30/2006

There is always something to celebrate at Randolph's Restaurant & Bar!! That's why I enjoy so much going there! Last night with some friends, I stopped by the restaurant & saw that it was quite busy due to a special contest: the ""Speakeasy Classic Cocktail Series"". I tasted a very good Manhattan Cocktail (thanks to Brenden, the bartender) and had very nice appetizers and a lamb sirloin with strawberry fig purée and Haystack's mountain farms goat cheese! It was just FABULOUS!! A very nice ambiance, good service and fantastic music! Thank you for this great time!! more

Best Cocktails Ever! 8/30/2006

Have you ever been to Randolph's? My first in this place but not the last one! I went there with some friends to sip a martini after work (1 advice: try their signature drink: the Rosebud) and have some appetizers. I tried the smoked trout pate and the tuna squares...that was fantastic! Do not hesitate: highly recommended to everyone! more

Full Service Treatment 5/17/2006

Pompous greeting (lack there of is more appropriate) with condescending actions to follow. WE had to ask if we could be seated, the host looked at us for a moment then asked if we had reservations (I phoned and they said no reservation needed) saying no he said ok, but walked away. The host with manager to said go ahead seat them. At bar area (didnt ask smoking/non-smoking) next to smokers.. I said no I'm allergic to cigarettes - without conversation (bar tender suggests table on other side, host replied angrily about sitting near smokers - there weren't smokers on that side!!!) and directed us outside. Not so bad, if you like homeless people watching and the sun wasn't out yet. This restaurant deals with people patronizingly, I refused to eat there. Pros: not sure Cons: unfriendly, parking, available seating more

Waste of Time 4/18/2006

My family and I went there for Easter Brunch. What a waste of money. First off my party of six was seated outside. Not a big deal but they should have warned me that this was a possibility. Luckily it was nice. If it were raining would my reservation not be honored? The food was okay but not worth the $. The service was so-so. We had to ask for plates to be taken off. For a supposed upscale restraunt this should not have taken place. The patio is nice if you like homeless people watch you eat. Pros: Parking, Patio Cons: Price, Quality, Patio more
