Ramsi's 3/30/2006

Ramsi's Cafe on the world is noable first of all for its decor - I especially like the room with lots of books, many in strange languages. The cuisine is from all over the place, with somewhat of a mediterranean and Middle Eastern emphasis. I particularly recommend the delicious Italian Antipasto Festival; I would avoid, however, the Carribean Jerk Chicken. more

If you want something not mainstream, Ramsi's is the place for you 3/24/2006

Ramsi's is a quaint restaurant that is sure to be open when everything else is closing up shop after night at the theater. The food ranges from American to Chinese to Mediterranean. This is the place I head for Iranian which is not on an abundance of menus in Louisville. So throw in your Buckhead's towel and head to Ramsi's. more

A unique offering of flavors from around the world 3/23/2006

A popular restaurant in the Bardstown Road area, Ramsi's is a great option for those days or nights when you aren't really sure what type of food you are in the mood for. If you are hungry for Chinese or Mexican food and your husband has a hankering for Mediterranean, Ramsi's is the place to go. The cafe serves a wide variety of ethnic food...the first-timer will spend a good amount of time going over the menu. Many menu options are combinations of flavors from areas oceans apart. The atmosphere is quirky and casual (no uniforms here...servers look like they just strolled in from the street, wearing shorts or t-shirts or whatever suits their fancy). At their busy times, there is a feeling of controlled chaos. There is not much standing room for those waiting for tables. The friendly hosts and hostesses will say that you can wait at the bar or go next door to the bookstore and they'll come get you when your table is ready (no pagers here). Prices are very reasonable, too. Odds are that you'll want to come back again soon! more

Excellent Eclectic Mix 8/10/2005

If you want a wide array of choices the next time you go out to dinner, you have to check out Ramsi's! You'll find a little bit of everything here: Cuban, European...even tuna salad! No matter who you take to dinner, they're bound to find something delicious. The brie cheese appetizer with walnuts and honey is to-die for!!! There's a nice wine list, and desserts too. It's a fun place for a group, but still romantic enough for a date. The waiting staff is efficient, friendly, helpful, and doesn't rush you so you can enjoy a chatty leisurely dinner. The only problem I have is that it's a pretty crowded place furniture wise. Of course, they have to fit plenty of tables in there since it's so popular! more

Travel the world while you dine! 8/9/2005

If you want to travel the world to dine for a reasonable price this is the place. The menu will take you a while to read, plus it will take you a while to decide due to the fact that everything is great. A favorite for someone that does not like to go out on a limb is the CUBeAN Burrito. It is basically like it sounds, a burrito stuffed full of black beans and cheese topped with queso (a lot of people ask for chicken in it). There is enough that you will have plenty left over. Some other of my favorites are the Thai Noodles (with tofu even though you can get chicken, shrimp, or have it made vegan) or the pastafari (pasta with grouper tossed with fresh tomatoes in a coconut milk sauce). However if you just would like something light the Cafe on the World salad is great. It has fresh greens with roasted veggies on top with goat cheese. It is usually served with pita bread and pesto on top that is wonderful. For the amount of food that you receive this is great. Take advantage of the new dining area outside. It is a great area to enjoy the scenery! One last plus is that this stays open late on the weekends for a restaurant of this type! more
