This was our 4th trip to this hotel; the first with the grandchildren. We picked the hottest week of the year, but the temp. In room was wonderful. We had 3 adults and 3 nine and ten year olds. We saw Amana and Kolona over 5 days, despite the heat. We had a 2-room suite Nd it was great. Had a few problems with the lock but the staff was extremely helpful, and entertaining! We shopped and the came back and the kids (and adults) played in the water park in the afternoon/evening. Food was good in restaurant. We definitely will continue to visit! more

I just returned from visiting the hotel & water park with my 12-year-old daughter and three of her friends and, after reading several negative reviews prior to our trip, felt compelled to write a rebuttal. The hotel staff was friendly & patient, and we found our room to be updated, clean, and comfortable. The ice machine on the 2nd floor was 'out of order', but the one on the 1st floor was working. The girls had a great time playing at the water park -- going down the slides, playing on the 'lily pads', and playing water volleyball/basketball (they also created their own games); and the water was heated. They also spent a lot of time playing at the outdoor playground. There is a mini-golf course on the hotel property, but it was closed for the season; it did look well-maintained, though. A snack bar was located in the water park, and we were also able to have Godfather's pizza delivered there. Before leaving, my daughter asked if we could come again. I would definitely bring them back! We had a special deal through the Quad City Times, so the value was 'excellent' for us. more

Upon check-in we were greeted with a smile. The facility appeared clean and updated. Our rooms, on the second floor and in the first wing up from the stairs, were adjoining. This hotel was originally built in the 1970s...and as such the rooms are average by today's standards and the bathroom may seem a bit small. The rooms are updated with flat screen TV's, super comfy queen beds and bedding, and well lit. The only complaint is one I have of most every hotel in that the a/c cycles on and off with no constant low fan to provide white noise. The waterpark is geared for those 14 and younger....maybe even 10 and under. It is not huge, but the weekend crowd did not seem to overwhelm us. The tube slides are great..one very fast and dark, one slower and lit with LED lights. more

I take my kids here every chance I get! It's the only indoor waterpark in the area. Even on an off day the waterpark is in very reasonable condition and concerns are always addressed quickly. They staff is always pleasant and takes care of any issues no matter how small as quickly as possible. When we have stayed and not just gone for a day trip the rooms are clean and quiet. Beds are quite comfy! There is onsite overnight security every night to ensure a quiet restful nights sleep. In the warm months there is also mini golf on site. Never a bad time! more

We stayed here for to ring in 2010 with our children and we had a BLAST! The water park was very clean, great rides for our 4 an 5 year olds and also good slides for our 10 year old. My husband and I even went on the waterslides and had a great time! The hotel rooms were recently re-done and the decore is great and the beds are WONDERFULY comfortable! We even ordered in breakfast the next day to our room and we got a TON of food for all five of us for just $30!! The staff there were very nice and over all it was a great way for our family to locally escape this snowy winter and do it at a a very reasonable price. more

We really enjoyed this hotel, Yes the waterpark is not huge but that's kinda what we liked about it, it is much easier to watch after younger children. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was clean with everything in working order. We booked in advance with a no cancellation policy and got a great rate so it was worth it. Didn't have any complaints! more

Can't say enough about this hotel. It is a great time for the kids and adults alike! The waterslides were a blast and they even have a ""zero entry"" area for small children. Our 2-year old just loved it. The hot tub was great for the adults -- no kids are allowed at all in the hot tub. NIce little break for us! The beds are comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the price was amazing. It helped that I got a discount through work but even the normal price was a really good deal. Their food is incredible; but don't expect a free breakfast -- that isn't included. No problems though because we were on the road early the next morning. Our daughter left her pillow in our room and we called the next day and they already had it in guest services bagged up with our name and room number. We came back through a week later and they had it ready to go. I was very impressed and would definitely stay here again. more

We went to the waterpark/hotel and had a great time! The pool was clean, there were lifeguards at every appropriate spot. Our kids ages 8,7,5 and 5 had a great time. They were able to go on the big slides and had soo much fun! We ate there, and it was ok. The adults only hot tub was wonderful and in close enough proximity you could sit in it and watch the kids. The beds were great - I haven't slept that well in ages. The staff was very accomodating and took care of any needs we had. more

We have worked as a contractor for Walker Asset Management for over five years now. They are by far the most professional and ethical management company that we have ever conducted business with and are always very responsive to the needs of both their property owners and tennants as well. more

The kids wore themselves out going down the waterslides and playing at the waterpark. Exhausted, we all fell into the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on in a hotel, and there was a ""pillow menu"" to also choose from. The hotel is also conveniently located by several restaurants that offer dine in, carry out and delivery. It was an excellent night! more

We have also been to the indoor water park in dubuque at the Grand Harbour hotel but this is a MUCH better deal...the slides are great...im getting too old for em though! All I have to say is we will be ther again, the rooms are $149 with 2 double beds but is is well worth it for a night of fun for the family...and the kida eat FREE at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. What a deal! more

The hotel was nice. The room and bathroom were clean. The room could have used an airing out. The beds and pillows were clean and comfortable.\r The fun pool area was not so much fun.....unless you were a polar bear! The water was freezing cold. We were only in the swim area an hour.It really was sad to see how run down it was becoming because it is a very cute idea. We did try to make the best of it. We did learn later that the cold water had something to do with the boiler not being started. We tried the game room out of 6/7 games only 2 were working. And the snack shop was only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No breakfast is service so you have to go next door to eat.\r This is a very commercialized area...Amana Colonies is for tourist. more more

It was VERY busy but the hotel managed to stay on top of things. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 11/1/2013

we stayed in this hotel but didn't get in until 10:30pm (no reservations, just traveling through the area) and left at 5:30am so I can only say that the front desk staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable for a great price. more

Would love to come back and take our grandkids so they can enjoy the waterpark. Very clean. The restaurant had great food at reasonable prices more

The beds! I worried the mattress wasn't as firm as mine at home...I slept like a baby and am considering changing to a softer bed and the pillows! more

The kids love the waterpark.\r The hotel is right off of I-80 and a short drive to the Amana Colonies. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/26/2013

We booked this hotel because it was the only hotel with an available room within 30 miles of our son's college (parent's weekend). We did not use the waterpark but the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. more
