Rude staff. Just wanted to enjoy a nice dinner with our daughters (birthday of the youngest one). Everything seemed to be started very well, we got a table right away. \r \r The server asked us about what to drink? We asked one beer for each adult and juices for kids (me, my wife and my mother-in-law, age 78, visiting from Europe). The server asked promptly for our all IDs. No problem ... I've shown my ID and my wife ID, but our mother in law did not have any ID as she left her passport at home. However, our waitress told us that she cannot serve her alcohol since we cannot provide proof of her age. \r \r We thought this wouldn't have been a problem, given that she was visibly old? How could one think she was below 21 ?? \r \r As you can imagine, we were kind of stunned ... However, we thought that could have been a slight misunderstanding, and we asked nicely for the manager to come, but the manager repeated the same thing: her restaurant would lose its license if she would give alcohol to a person not having an ID. \r \r We thought the situation was a bit ridiculous as this never happened to us before in any restaurant (asking a senior for an ID, nevermind refusing service based on this). Anyway, we didn't want to argue legalities and stuff like this in front of the other customers so we gently left.\r \r Later on, (we went to Olive Garden nearby, with a super-nice staff) our spirits went up, and we kind of ended up making fun of the whole situation so the evening turned out well in the end ... \r \r But still, this is by far the worst experience we had in a restaurant, but I thought it deserves a review so other potential customers (and possibly the management) to see this and take what conclusions they find appropriate. more

Kid Friendly ambiance, entertainment, and food. The quality of food is average and lacks flavor, but younger kids seem to love this place. more

This place is awful! Customer service poor and slow. Everything screams give us money! From the retail store to the attempt to get you to buy a membership to the over priced (and not that great) food. Everything is insanely expensive. I ordered tomato soup and it tasted like Campbell's. Gross! We had a salt and pepper shaker on our table who's tops were smashed in. I think they keep the place dark so no one can see that they haven't swept or vacuumed in ages. Very limited choice of food. The volcano dessert is $14.99! Oh and if you want fries you have to pay over a dollar or stick with greasy potato chips. Funny that they call it Rainforest Cafe and pretend to care about the rainforest when their gift shop is full of made in China items. more

Pass this place, Go to the cheese cake factory instead 5/6/2010

So we get seated at 6:20, 15 minutes later our waiter Jorge comes over to offer us menus and disappears, 15 minutes after that he comes back and takes our order. So we've been at the table for 30 minutes now, no drinks, no appetizers, its 6:50. After Jorge takes our food order he disappears again not to be seen again for 20 more minutes at which times he tells us ""your food is in the window, I will be right back with it"", 20 minutes later our food arrives ice cold it is 7:30, 40 minutes later our bills arrive its now 8:10. The food was mediocre at best. If you enjoy extremely slow service, terrible wait staff, over priced mediocre to poor food and a loud obnoxious environment then go for it. Otherwise, go to the cheese cake factory ,which is right across the parking lot from this waste of time! Cons: Mediocre food, terrible service more

Reservations routinely ignored 1/30/2010

I was a restaurant waiter and manager for 6 years, and I've seen a lot, but today was the first time I went to a restaurant where reservations are (a) accepted, but (b) routinely ignored.\r \r It's fine if a restaurant doesn't want to accept reservations; they have that right. If you're on a schedule and need to be able to make a reservation, choose a less busy restaurant that accepts them. Also, it's understandable that sometimes on busy nights a restaurant gets behind and can't seat reservations quite on time. \r \r But accepting reservations, and then making absolutely zero effort to seat reservations before walk-ins, is stunning, outrageous and unacceptable. But that seems to be the norm at Rainforest Cafe in Southcenter. \r \r I had made reservations the day before. When we arrived shortly before our reserved time, there was a long line. I walked to the front and said we had reservations. They told us the long line was for people who had reservations! Another one of our party didn't believe it, and went up separately and asked again, and was told the same thing. \r \r It took us over half an hour to reach the font of the line. The party in front of us did not have a reservation, and was amazed that we had to stand in the same line. They were seated before us. \r \r We were not the only people who had reservations and were amazed to be told to stand in line. We saw it happen to others while we waited. \r \r One person with a reservation, and who said he was on a schedule, became quite irate about it. The employees took it in stride; they seemed to have a LOT of experience getting that kind of reaction from customers.\r \r Again, it's fine if Rainforest Cafe is so busy they don't need to accept reservations. Good for them. But if that's the case, DON'T ACCEPT RESERVATIONS!!!!!\r \r The food was excellent, but excellent food is available at many, many restaurants. Avoid this one if you want to make a reservation. Pros: Good food, fun for kids Cons: Reservations accepted but routinely ignored more

Love this Resturant!~ 1/20/2009

I absolutely love this resturant. The service is great, the food is great, and might I mention the fact of the scenery! This is my third visit and I will continue to drive an hour and half just to go eat here! Great family environment! I'm not easily impressed, but this resturant is impressive to me! Very unique! Did I mention the food is delicious?! more

Great lunch in the jungle... 5/10/2008

After reading some questionable reviews, we were hesitant to go and almost made arrangements to order an appetizer only. We decided to have lunch, and were not disapointed on any level. The service was excellent, and the food was fantastic. Well worth the trip! Kids or no kids, this place is filled with fun and magic... There are animated animals in this jungle atmosphere that reminded us of Las Vegas, with not too-loud jungle music, as well as impressive aquariums and rain mists everywhere. Great food! Pros: Unbelievable atmosphere- Cons: Very dark- poor lighting for pictures more

If this Place Gets 3 1/2 Stars then McDonalds Should Get 5 Stars 3/30/2008

Come on people, we need to keep our rating standards higher than this. This place is totally annoying with its poorly conceived animal automatons running through the same loud, boring and hokey action loops over and over and over again. It's Chucky Cheese with high prices, bad service, mediocre food and crowded seating. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this place Pros: Its In the Mall Cons: McDonalds is Better more
