This is a typical doughnut joint. They're open very early and the doughnuts are good enough. Krispy Kreme they're not; traditional overly-sweet, puffy, glazed or over-stuffed with sugary goop they are. Doughnuts are not alike dough nuts; they're either good or their average or their stale; these are fresh (in the a.m.) and biting into them is like biting into the perfect yeasty fried O. On the other hand, Rainbow also touts their hotdogs, which my sister in law said were beyond awful. If I could repeat what she said about the hotdogs, I would, but I can't. Suffice it to say: don't try the hotdogs, but if you're craving an early morning doughnut, this place is as good as any other Cambodian-owned doughtnut hut. If you want the perfect doughnut, go to Krispy Kreme. If not, this place is as decent as any other on the doughnut highway. Oh, and it's directly located on Gilman, 1/4 mile from the Gilman Street I80 onramp.
Pros: Okay donuts, plenty of parking.
Cons: Only mediocre donuts, crappy neighborhood, bad hotdogs.
