Wish you could give -5 stars. So I wrote a review two years ago and was asked to take it down in promise for a job, so I did. But being that I didn’t get a job here and thank goodness I didn’t cause nothing about Dr. Shukla’s attitude has changed at all. He is still a very bipolar depressed borderline schizophrenia case. Here is my review from two years ago that still hold true today.... “This is the worst place you could ever bring your dog (pet) to or work for that matter! Needles are left lying around and not properly disposed. Dr. Shukla is all about the money and does not care about your pet. His surgeries are cheaper than most places but that’s at the risk of losing your pet. His surgeries are a “butcher service”. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT bring your pet here. You are better off going to a doctor that really cares about your pet. The equipment is outdated and old, not to mention it’s dirty!! Dr.Shukla never washes his hands, I mean NEVER! This place is disgusting and should be shut down for sanitary reasons. Beyond disgusting! Save your loving pet some trauma and please go somewhere else. DO NOT GO HERE! “ When working there we never shared or let Dr. Shukla touch food. He would touch it and then put it back after seeing patients or going to the bathroom without washing his hands. It’s sad that he literally followed in Dr.Roy’s dirty footsteps. We should all pray that Dr. Shukla retires quickly, so more animals don’t have to die in his care. Don’t be cheap with your pet care and come here to save a couple bucks cause you could lose your pet forever. more

I love rahway animal hospital. if my cats arent feeling well i am told bring them right down. dr patel is always kind & concerned. my experience with other vets felt very clinical & cold. i highly recommend rahway animal hospital more

I have gone here for years. Mike the vet tech knows how to handle my dog with love and kindness, I cant say enough nice things about him and Dr. Patel. Always have been great to my Pugs. Recommend Highly. more

I just recently had to find a new vet after moving to the area and I couldn't be happier. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I called for an appointment and they took me in the same day. Dr Shukla is a great doctor and has always spent a great deal of time with me in the room explaining everything. I feel very comfortable here and will continue to refer people. He doesn't charge up your bill just to make money, he truly cares about his clients. more

I bought a puppy and took my pet there for its first visit first I called for an appointment and the girl on the phone was so rude as if I was interrupting her then I get there and the doctor barely spoke a word of english I could not understand a word he was saying it was so embarrassing there prices are reasonable but it look likes dump and smells terrible on top of that I had my 5 year old son with me and I hear nothing but curses coming from the back I will never take my pet there again it was the worst experience and my pup will be treated by a much cleaner and respectful vet and staff more

Only compassion, honesty and great care for your loved pet at Rahway Animal Hospital. Your pet deserves honest care from honest vets and that is what you can expect from this group. Dissatisfied with the care at another local vet, an acquaintance suggested Rahway A.H. After meeting Dr. Shukla the 1st time, I knew that is where my cat deserved her care and I changed with NO regrets. I recently had to put my sweet little girl down - she was almost 18. Dr. Shukla and his staff helped me make my decision based on facts and not emotions. Everyone there works hard and treats you and your pet with respect. The ladies at the desk are so compassionate, the kind man that helps to handle your pet with care, other staff, and of course, Dr. Shukla. He takes the time to explain so you understand. I am certain that when I am ready for another cat, I will be back at Rahway Animal Hospital for care. This is a genuine review from a local Rahway resident. more

My little dog almost died and with the caring help and compassion of Dr.Patel, he is back to normal...Thank God ! The staff is wonderful at Rahway. Trish, Magda, Mike, Sandra and even Dr. Shukla have always been kind and helpful. The doctors do not try to rip you off. They do what they can and will not run the bill up if there is no hope. I have brought previous dogs to Dr. Patel and have always been satisfied with the care. Good or bad, he always tells you the truth. As the animal owner, I could always make an informed choice. I love this hospial ! more

I have taken my 2 dogs to this vet for years now. They take very good care of my dogs. My dachshund has a allergic reaction to one of the vaccanations and Dr. Shukla always keeps her there to keep an eye on her for a few hours for no extra cost. I highly recommend Rahway Animal Hospital more

Good: They really care about the animals! Affordable, they don't use the love you have for your animal against you!. Bad: Not Applicable!. Improvements: To Rahway Animal Hospital NONE! More Places should be like them!. Other: After 9 years I put my best friend to sleep, RUSSELL a 9 year old Bishon, they made his last days comfortable and tried everything they could to save his life! When nothing else could be done they showed us compassion, never rushed us and were wonderful to our entire family! Russell will be missed terribly! I trust Rahway Animal Hospital, from the administrative staff to the Doctors, the very best. I will continue to use them for my other Chloe, because I know she will be in good hands! Good: Service, Atitude of Staff, Prices. Bad: Far away from my home.. Improvements: Should moved near my home.. Other: I bought my puppy from shak a paw, they gave me the papers and gave me option to go couple of hospitals, i choose Rahway Animal Hospital, and i am so glad i make this choice.They treat me as queen, they gave me free samples of revolution and Hill's food. I was soooo happy, i am supose to go back after 3 wks, i can't waite.. more

Dr. Patel almost killed my dog. After he spayed her and she was left with a suture in her uterer that tied off the flow of urine from the kidney to the bladder, resulting in kidney failure. This was a ROUTINE spay. (There is no need for sutures to even go near the kidneys or bladder for a spay). This is clearly sloppy, meatball surgeon work. My pup also developed a life threatening infection called Stump Pyometra, caused by e-coli bacteria due to use of non-sterilized surgical tools. You pet may be healthy going into Rahway vet, but your lucky if they come out of that place alive. more

i volunteer at an animal shelter that uses rahway animal and the vets have saved many sick animals. they are seen right away-refreshing change from big 'supermarket' vet clinics that i have personally dealt with. i now bring my animals to rahway animal hospital more

My 3, sometimes 4 dogs have been patients of Dr. Roy and Dr. Shukala for many, many years,over 30 years and Dr. Roy was a magnificent vet and now Dr. Shukala is equally as well! I have had many experiences with both vets and now w/Dr. Shukala. He is always, available for me to come to him. I would recommend him to anyone. As for his front desk personnel.....since Trish left, it has gone down the drain! They are the most unprofessionional bunch of young people I've ever come across. Though I speak up for myself, I have witnessed them being rude, unprofessional and tacty. The absence of Trish is truly evident. That unfortunately is a loss to the animal hospital. more

I visited with my pup and was disappointed to find out the front desk girl trish wasn't there any longer,she was the best and really enjoyed her work and it showed..the place isn't the same does anyone know where she went? I would go there. she really kept the place together,and a really great attitude more

I had my dog spayed and the doctors were wonderful...they took very good care of her and the two girls at the desk were absolute sweethearts they answered all my questions more

complication after neutering..not enough pain med given,poor pup in large amount of pain. insufficient med records and under medicated for an antibiotic prescription ..the dose was enough for a cat. do not go to dr. patel. more

Service received with half a smile. Staff did not seem to be enjoying what they were doing and it showed. Hard to understand the two doctors because they both had very thick accents. Procedures being done were done well however they were not explained in depth. If needed okay place to go but in bad neighborhood and building is falling apart/ more
