Quilt Patch

I went in there recently and came face to face with 3 different employees - 2 were cutting fabric, but not with customers. NOT ONE of them said a word - nobody even looked up or said hello, and there was only 1 other customer in the store. I felt very uncomfortable. When I was paying she acted like she couldn't wait for me to leave. They seem to be very unhappy or they hate their jobs. more

I took my first quilting class (beginner) last nite with Leslie. I was surprised at how helpful she was considering I came to class very tired and a bit brain dead after a long day at work. She started by having us make templates to understand how the pieces fit and THEN showed us an even easier way that now made sense. After class (it was around 9:00 p.m.) she offered to stay and help us pick fabrics. I think that lady is a mind reader. She had us start with something we love and then build from that. I started with something that had colors I wanted but I really didn't love it -- with a few questions she helped me find something I really really loved and then the remaining fabrics. Most people would NOT have the patience or desire to help a total newbie at after 9 p.m. When I left she was still patiently helping everyone who stayed find just what they wanted when they really didn't know just want they wanted. I'd give this lady ten stars! Beautiful fabric -- but more import more

I have been in the Quilt Patch numerous times and have never had any of the people there offer to help in any way, and have found them to be very unfriendly and pretty arrogant. Maybe if I had been looking for a top-of-the-line Bernina they would have been more polite, but I was shopping on a more limited budget. Yes, they have a lot of fabric, but I left without buying anything and went to another local quilt shop where people couldn't be nicer! more

I really wanted to like The Quilt Patch. Fred does a great job servicing Bernina Machines, but unfortunately can no longer take drop off service. Service is by appointment only and the first available for him to even look at my machine was over a month. Every time I have been in there, the staff has been incredibly unfriendly and some are downright rude. I am not a quilter, so I guess they have some sort of bias against non-quilters. The fabric is gorgeous, but because I feel so unwelcome everytime I go in there, I would rather take my chances buying fabric online. I will not return. This store in old town Fairfax has tons of fabric to choose from. Its a delightful place to visit and take your time searching out the perfect fabrics for your quilt. Everyone on the staff is very pleasant and works with you to make it easier to choose what you need. more
