I had heard so many good things about this bar...but the other night, lo and behold, we went up to the front, after standing in line forever, and had to suddenly pay a cover charg...

Good Times all around 11/3/2009

Go there quite a bit for after work drinks, love it. They are pretty reasonable prices and the bartenders are way cool. I also got a gift card at lahalfoff. com which saved me like 50% on my drinks. Sweeeeeet.... Pros: Good Drinks, fun staff, good sightseeing more

Great Bar, Good Food, Great people 10/14/2009

I've been going to Q's for over 10 years, and have never had a bad experience. The bartenders are great, the drinks are ALWAYS strong, and there are TONS of TVs to watch ANY sport! Make friends with the bartenders...trust me, its worth it! Pros: Great Bar, Good Food, Great people Cons: Basic Bar Food more

Pros: goodpeople Cons: they close more

Stole my credit card information. 7/29/2008

BEWARE - Q'S WILL STEAL YOUR CC NUMBER!! Cons: steal credit card #'s. more

Great place to play pool 7/15/2008

As long as there isn't a popular sporting event on, Qs is a great place to play some pool and enjoy a good happy hour. It is a good place to watch the game, but you better get there early if you don't want to stand the whole time. The food is good, but a little pricey if you aren't there for happy hour. Sundays are the best because pool is free as long as your are eating or drinking. Pros: pool, happy hour Cons: parking, crowded during games more

Great Sports Bar and room to move around 5/8/2008

Just Moved in to town a couple of weeks ago was looking for a cool bar to hang out at. Went to watch a hockey playoff game a couple days ago. They didnt have the game on i asked them to change it and they did. I like the second floorspace. It seemed as though there was more room to roam around and i liked that. Definitely different from the bars i was used to back home. I enjoyed my experience and will be back. Pros: Good looking people, cool staff Cons: pool tables werent really taken care of more

GREAT place to watch a game!!! 4/25/2008

I went to Q's once during football playoffs, another pre-march madness to watch a huge BBgame. Both times it was pretty crowded (understandable), and both times I had a blast! Pros: gamenight, great crowd, good food Cons: parking $$$(valet), can get too crowded at times more

Good looking people playing pool, how can u go wrong? 1/28/2008

I liked Q's , because its a chill place with lots of hotties to look at. Drinks were god with good service. Just right, not too crowded and and not too dead. Cool place to hang out with friends or after work.... Pros: Pool Table Cons: Not great food more

SCREW THIS PLACE!! 1/2/2008

I went there to watch a football game with my friend. He ordered breakfast in the middle of the first quarter ( french toast with scrambled eggs and bacon) and it arrived in the middle of half time! I asked the waitress to please check on our order and she said the cook was new. When the food finally arrived, the scrambled eggs were missing, and the bacon was burned to a crisp!! I mean CRISP people, dry, cracked, BURNED. When the server set the food on the counter, I picked up a piece of the bacon and snapped at him, ""would YOU eat this?!?"" He rattled his little head and I said, ""then please replace it!!"" And the best part: they forgot the scrambled eggs. I told the server that the eggs were missing and the game ended before the scrambled eggs got back to us. Did they comp the meal? No!!!! Did they apologize? No. Did I mention the waitress/bar tender/ditzy brunette? She was the one that took our order, and instead of earning her tip she spent most of duration of the game hitting on guys and telling them ""Oh my gosh, those two people totally, like, hate me, because the cooks got their order wrong, like, totally."" She must have said told four different people the 'story' as to why we hate her. HORRIBLE, NEVER, EVER AGAIN!!! Pros: there's a door for y ou to LEAVE! Cons: service, food, place is dirty more

Great Friday happy hour! 11/7/2007

This place has the best friday happy hour! Get a group of friends together, order a couple pitchers of beer, and stake out a pool table! And the best part is there are FREE finger foods on the first floor, like mini quesidillas and spicy chicken wings! Its a laid-back, fun place to kick off the weekend. more

Good drinks, good service, good food... 6/27/2007

I was invited by a co-worker for a little Friday-after-work-relaxing. The fact that Happy Hour lasts until 8 pm is great. Another plus-they serve *FREE* finger food, and you just can't beat that! The drinks were good and cheap; $3 for well drinks! Downstairs was pretty crowded, but we scored a pool table upstairs. It was a little pricey ($14 for an hour) but if you go w/a group it's not bad. Mostly a co-ed crowd (which could be a plus or minus depending on your style). Comfy seating, sports-bar downstairs, clean bathrooms, friendly staff...All in all, I had a great time, and I would recommend it. Pros: Good prices, spacious, attractive people Cons: Parking, spending pool games more

Space to the face 5/17/2007

This place is very spacious. There are two floors and plenty of bars (getting a drink usually is not too hard). The happy hour is pretty decent and the food was good. At night the places is filled with a younger undergrad to post grad crowd and it is fairly easy to strike up a conversation. There are plenty of billiard tables and plenty of drinks to be had. Good place to go if you are feeling like you don't want to deal with the hassle of the normal hipster nightclub but still want to go to a somewhat upscale place. more

Happy Hour Cancelled by Q's!!! 3/26/2007

Went to Q's the other night w/ some friends and we were told by the doorman upon entering & by our waitress that Happy Hour was going on 4-8pm. Upon presentation of our bill later 2 hrs later (it was about 7pm) our waitress said she found out Happy Hour had been cancelled today only because there was a ucla basketball game on tv eariler in the day! So we were charged 'extra-full price' for food & drink. more

OK food, great atmosphere 11/14/2006

Love the foosball and pool tables! takes a while to get yours. food is ok. I suggest you hang out and eat at the nearby Cabo Cantina and then head to Q's for drinks and to shoot some pool. Great place to meet people and challengers for a game of billiards! Pros: Pool, atmosphere Cons: food is average more

Fun! 7/2/2006

Q's is a great place to meet new friends and catch up with old ones. Reserve a pool table and challenge the surrounding crowd to a match or down a few well mixed drinks at the bar. Spacious and tastefully decorated, it's no wonder the line wraps around the blocks on popular nights. I would recommend going on an off night and avoiding Friday and Saturday (when the line is the long and the cover charge isn't worth it). Thursday night is the best since that's when the UCLA crowd goes out. Pros: Great atmopshere, drinks, people Cons: Long line more

Great bar -- Great bouncer!!! 4/6/2005

This is a great place to hang out! You can trade money for liquor... OR SODA! Plus, the head bouncer guy (named Thomas) is super-nice. Here's a hint: Call him ""Tee-Lee"" (his favorite nickname) to get in ahead of the line! He'll think you're a friend from college! Kick ass! more

Prime pool and people-watching place 3/25/2005

This sports bar does it up right when it comes to watching the game, with a good amount of TVs and even the opportunity to select your own channel on one of the TVs. There are also a fair amount of pool tables and the per-hour price isn't exorbitant. At night, it gets packed with UCLA co-eds, especially later in the week, so plan accordingly. more

Great college bar 3/14/2005

There are always great drink specials and the crowd is all college students. This place gets packed even on weekdays with a mix of frat/sorority people and other UCLA collegiate types. The only bad thing is its proximity to UCLA, but I guess they need a place to drink after losing bad to USC in football. Pros: Drink specials Cons: UCLA more

Great place 3/13/2005

I always enjoy coming here for a few drinks, some peope, and good people watching. There's usually always a good looking crowd outside in the small patio/deck area. A good mix between older professionals in Brentwood and the UCLA crowd. Fridays and Saturday nights are obviously busy and require cover - don't really think it's worth it once they start charging that. more

Good Times 1/8/2005

My friends and I go to Q's about 3 nights a week and we love the place. No pretentious people, just a bunch of funloving, goodlooking (for the most part) people. The weekdays are great cause it's not super packed but still a good sized crowd and Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays are always packed. Get there early on the weekends, unless you know the doorguy... (we love you Thomas!) Pros: Good looking people, Fun times, Me! more

  • In Short
Q's is the kind of pool hall where how you look while shooting pool matters more than whether or not you actually make the shot. For the best view of the dark wood island bar...
