Highly Disappointed! 6/9/2005

People rant and rave about Q4U, so we decided to try it out. Being from Oklahoma, we know good BBQ. Unfortunately, that is not what we got. I asked the waiter if the ribs really were that good. He challenged me to try them saying I've never had better. They were really fatty, not much meat. And the sauce wasn't that great either. I told the waiter I had better and he acted so offended. Sorry, but I was just being honest. They weren't worth this cost or the drive. Cons: service, taste, quality more

Best BBQ Ribs in Utah 3/24/2005

Q4U is THE best BBQ in the Southwest. The R-I-B-S are THE thing to get here. Three days later, and reheated, these ribs are still better than every BBQ in the state put together. But, pass on the brisket (chopped), and pulled pork. Both were dry and neither tasted very good. Get the hot links (prepared with green peppers and onions), coleslaw, yams, and cobbler, in-that-order; forget the beans. The sauce is good (better than any store-bought). For the Yuppies; get all this to go. This is not a date place! It's for the serious fan of 'Q. UPDATE: You must try the pit-roasted whole hog available only on Fridays 5-8 p.m. Too far to go? These are the best pork bbq ribs in Utah. They are huge, tender, moist, flavorful, and consistant every time. Their cole slaw is to die for. Get the yams - soft and sweet. Try the links - sauteed in onions and green peppers - delicious! Forget the bread, beans, pulled pork, brisket and decor - This place is all about ribs. BBQ FANATIC FINDS KING OF RIBS AT Q4U!! 6/21/2004

I am a die-hard fan of BBQ Ribs. 4 years ago I discovered the BEST bbq ribs were to be found in my home state of Utah at the almighty Q4U. I travel in conjunction with my job, and I have been to many, many BBQ restaurants during my travels. Q4U remains the unchallenged KING of BBQ ribs. I order a full rack everytime I go, I eat until it hurts, and take home the rest. When I get back home 30 minutes later, all I have to do is open my take home box and the tantalizing aroma makes me want to eat the rest, even though I am still stuffed. We love Q4U! Meat is tender and the sauce is yummy! My daughter (the picky eater) can't get enough, she loves the sauce that comes on the wings she says its better than candy. After moving to Utah, I was very excited to read the City Search reviews of Q4U. I am from the South and my first order of business was to find a good place to get my Bar-B-Que fix. Unfortunately, Q4U is not the one for me. I found ribs to be dry, the sauces average at best, and the side dishes completely unimpressive. Factoring in the high price and cave-like setting, this place would be at the bottom of my dining experiences here in Utah. Cons: , over-cooked, over-priced more

Recently I read here some critics review that must have hate on their mind...perhaps they didn't pay attention to the diversity of it's employees or they just had a bad day! This past weekend I attended the Rock'n Ribs Fest only to confirm my belief in the best BBQ Utah has seen...The Q won 2nd place in Ribs, 1st Place in in the ""open"" category, with the pork prime rib...awesome selection! The Q also won the overall competition and ""Grand Champion"" ...this says a lot for this little ole place over in West Valley...can't get much better than that! bad service 8/11/2003

My husband and I also brother in law and his wife when in to eat dinner we had buy one get one free all we had to do is buy 2 drinks each well first the owners wife comes out and in a loud voice tells us we can only use one of the coupons we are on 2 separate check why can't we use both she never returns to tell us any different. when we go to pay they over charge us so we asked why they tell us because we had corn bread well no one ever told us it was extra. no big deal i wont ever go back agian and i will also tel my friends about there bad service. more

I had the sampler and it wasn't as good as I had expected. The pulled pork had no flavor, the brisket was alright though. The ribs had very little meat and were just okay. They don't give you much suace so BEWARE!!! Halfway through my meal I ran out. Also the sides I had seem to taste store bought (bread, potato salad). For $15 it is not worth it. The portions are not very large either. Cons: price, not much sauce, low quality sides more

I have been there several times. The food is pretty good. I like the sampler. It has been a long time since my last visit, because they don't give you extra bottles of BBQ sauce to put on, at the table. Cons: no extra BBQ sauce more

Southern home cooking just about says it all. Good barbeque. Barbeque sauce was not too tangy. There are items without the sauce. Open seating. You order, then pick it up at a window. Served on paper or plastic. The food was very tasty. I like almost all barbeque. I liked this. So did my family. more

I love the food at Q4U. The service is also top notch. Things that would make Q4U Top Location, Location, Location and did I mention the Location. I would have absolutely no reason to travel to this part of the valley if it where not for Q4U so I guess Kearns can thank Q for keeping them on the map so to speak. Bit overrated 2/26/2003

I am from the South and have eaten my fair share of southern foods. The ribs tasted more like they were boiled then cooked on the grill to get a smokey flavor. This place is a bit overrated in my book!!!!!! more

This place is not for everyone, thank God. Let the locals go to Tony Romas and leave this little shack for me. Tommy and his wife are great and they are finally getting a little respect. It is a good reason to go to Kearns. Pros: good BBQ, not for everyone more

This is the place! Everything on the menu is wonderful. This is not a gross overgeneralization, this is fact. They don't just have good ribs, they have good everything! The sauce is incredible, (especially the spicy sauce) and compliments the fine Tennessee Hickory smoke that is used. The owners have a passion for great food and it is obvious by the quality.
