Editorial review from Citysearch 2/4/2014

I want to say what an awesome man Dr. Putney is. My son and his partner adopted a son last year and Dr. Putney is so good with him. Even when NaNa takes him in with 100 questions about this and about that, Dr. Putney is so kind and caring. He answers all my questions and makes me feel better without any judgement at all. My grandson is the hit of the office when he goes in and everyone remembers him by name and treats us like family. Ms. Rita is the best!! I myself use his PA and she is awesome. Very caring also!! I would recommend and have Dr. Putney's office many times. more

Fantastic doctor 2/8/2011

My family and I have been going to see Dr. Putney for 5 years, and he is an excellent doctor. He actually cares for his patients and what is going on in their lives. He has always been very responsive and attentive when there is an illness. He takes a whole health approach to treatment. He even calls personally when there is a major issue or he needs to discuss test results, instead of leaving that to his nurse. Which leads me to my only reservation about the practice-his nurse. She has a very poor bedside manner and is just plain rude at times. Almost as if you are bothering her or being a nuisance when you call about an issue-whether it is a prescription refill or any other question. She talks at you, not to you. Recently, I have found myself hesitating to make an appointment with him, or even call, because I do not want to have to deal with her poor attitude on top of being sick. So, a great doctor, no fantastic doctor, who's nurse tarnishes his reputation a little bit. more

More than just a family doctor... 12/12/2010

Wonderful Person! Doctor That Truly Cares!! 8/15/2010

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Putney for years. He is a very caring and outstanding physician. Not only do we trust his judgment we consider him a dear friend. Every time we go there, he and his staff are wonderfully cheerful and eager to help us. My family appreciates Dr. Putney, Nurse Laura and everyone that works there. more

Great Doctor AND Staff 1/25/2010

I've been seeing Dr. Putney for many years - he does have a great memory and sense of humor - as well as being an excellent physician. Plus, he has an extensive set of colleagues - he was able to point me instantly to a lower back specialist when I needed extra attention. \r And, the office staff is incredible. I recently needed to see Dr. Putney for a very bad chest cough, but Rita helped get me in to see the nurse - and called back to offer me an earlier appointment due to a cancellation. \r To me, this is what personal healthcare is all about. Pros: Friendly, Professional more

Great Doctor, Poor nursing staff 1/19/2010

My huisband I I love Dr. Putney, But when you call in for a script and the assistant doesn't call you back to let you know a script has been called in there is a breakdown in communication. If you get to talk to her she is rude. This doesn't look good for the doctor... Pros: Kind and Caring Doctor Cons: Nurse can't be bothered to return calls. more

Wonderful office 9/17/2009

I have been going to Dr. David for almost 20 years. He has always taken the time to answer all my questions and has a very caring manner. His staff is very efficient. If an emergency comes up they have always worked me in. Pros: Fantastic response to calls or questions more

Awesome Doctor 10/27/2008

Dr. Putney returns calls personally rather than just having his nurse do it. I have left messages late in the day asking just a simple question and he has returned my call the same day and a couple of times it was after hours. He is sincere in his interactions with you and is very straight forward in his answers to any question you may have. more

A doctors office that is more like a factory 10/8/2007

This was an extremely busy and impersonal office. You have to see 5 different people just to get your paperwork completed. The doctor was competent and even asked if there was anything else that I needed assistance with (a level of service unheard of usually in physicians) however I have been trying to get a follow up phone call on the meds that he prescribed which are NOT working and we are playing phone tag. I do not need a physician/nurse that is not able to get my care to me in a reasonable amount of time. I will look elsewhere for another physician. Pros: Doctor seemed to actually want to provide service. Cons: Everything else - the impersonal nature, the wait, the lack of follow up, the factory nature of the office more

Family Practice...Medical 6/13/2006

We recently moved to Texas. This Family Practice Associates (referred to me by a caring specialist that I have been a patient of for a few months) is on the list of doctors from the insurance company where my husband works. \r \r After calling the Family Practice office to see if they were taking new patients, the answer was yes. Then the lady on the phone asked what insurance I had. When I told her (after all, the names of the doctors are on the list in my insurance book), she said that they do not take any new patients from this insurance. When I asked whether I could just pay them and be reimbursed from my insurance company, she said that it is against the law in the state of Texas. The way she spoke to me was not polite. I have worked myself in doctor's offices in two other states and am a grandma in need of medical care. What has happened to being polite? \r \r Since when is paying in cash against the law??????? \r \r If this is the way a patient is treated when calling the office, I guess this office is NOT one that I would recommend. \r \r Perhaps the doctors ARE wonderful, but the office is the face seen by the public. \r more

Gotta Love 'Em 4/3/2006

The first time I saw Dr. Putney, I told him of my upcoming plans to go to Las Vegas and get married. When I saw him again months later, he asked about the trip. For all I know he made a note of it in my file, but either way the fact that he asked (and quite possibly remembered) made me feel important. I have been his patient ever since, and have also referred several friends his way. They have all been satisfied with his care as well. more
