Unprofessional Teacher. Be careful with your kids in this location.

I am sad to say that I did not have a positive experience with Primrose of West Allen. First, there is a decided lack of communication and warmth in the classroom. My school-aged daugher was ridiculed by the teacher who enlisted the students to tease and humiliate her. He and the class had her in tears as they as a group harrassed her. She has been in daycare since she was four and we have NEVER had a teacher that taught the class to be mean or cruel to others. I was unhappy with how the school handled the matter when they investigated. They offered to put her in a class with much younger children instead of his class. A solution, yes, except that the teacher in the other class is engaged to the man that bullied and humiliated my child. To my knowledge, the offending teacher was given a written warning. Needless to say, we do not attend Primrose of West Allen, I and I would not recommend it to anyone. more

We have two children attending Primrose of West Allen. My son is currently in the toddler class while my daughter is attending pre-k. My wife and I have tried a few other daycares, including a Plano ISD funded facility, and I can tell you with no doubt in mind that the Primrose in West Allen has either met or exceeded our expectations in many regards. The front office staff is very responsive and communicates very well with the parents. There are many field trips, class activities, correspondence, etc. that have allowed our kids to\r expound their horizons. The teachers do a great job communicating lesson plans, keeping the kids engaged, and treating them like they were their own. Last and most importantly, there is standard set of rules that each kid,\r regardless of age, is expected to follow. Sure, there are some outliers as you would expect at any school. But the majority of the kids are well behaved, on task, respectful, and work well with others. more

Primrose of West Allen is excellent. The teachers are very caring loving and great educators and the support staff is awesome. They always make time for parent calls and correspond in a timely manner. We have had our son here for a year and a half and he loves it. We would highly recommend Primrose of West Allen. more

My son has been attending Primrose of West Allen for about nine months and is in the Pre-K class. He looks forward to going to school and seeing his teachers and friends, and tells me everyday he had fun at school. There is a great balance between play time and learning time - I feel like he will be prepared for Kindergarten and ahead of the game when he starts elementary school. The staff is friendly and professional, and they provide continuous communication about school events. I would recommend this facility. more

Great place for your children! 5/14/2013

Primrose of West Allen is an excellent environment for children. We first fell in love with Primrose of West Allen with my older son (who went there from 2 years old through kindergarten). We are now back for Round 2 with our infant son and both experiences have been great. The staff is professional, teachers are well educated and trained and the ownership is very dedicated to providing a caring and nurturing environment which promotes learning and exploration. I would highly recommend Primrose of West Allen and especially their Private Kindergarten program, which has really helped to prepare our older son for success in first grade. It's awesome! more

A very satisfied dad 1/3/2012

My 20 months old daughter has been attending Primrose of West Allen since she was 16 months. We are extremely happy with our choice even we live in Plano. The staff are all very friendly, and our daughter is anxious to go to school every day. She is very well behaved at school, and teaches us all the sign languages she has been learning. We visited six day care facilities in 75025 before deciding this one in west Allen. The area has many upper middle class families. Many don't need to write a positive review to earn $20 credit. Primrose West Allen 12/19/2011

I have had one of my children at another school, and Primrose of West Allen is top notch. Their curriculum beats those of other schools drastically. In the older classes the curriculum is about a grade level above, so my 4 year old is learning what they do in kindergarten. The meals are more nutritious as well. For lunch they only serve fresh fruits and the meals are homemade and not frozen. I have had a great experience with all the teachers and they all are very friendly and informative when it comes to my child’s day. Even my infant enjoys coming to school and is never sad when I have to drop her off. She gets very excited seeing the teachers and other babies. The happiness and development in my children are enough to say that Primrose has taken great care of them. more

Pay for ONLY good reviews 12/1/2011

I don't have very much to contribute about the school itself as I don't have experience with other daycares. From what I saw before choosing them, they are the most loving daycare. My issue is that the management is giving out $20 Tuition credit for ONLY GOOD reviews- I was upset last time I saw them do this, but didn't write about it. So.. the people on here aren't anonymos.. they are doing it for $20. How can you tell? Look at the dates of the reviews.. they appear only when an email goes out advising parents that they will get a credit for putting out GOOD reviews. more

wonderful school! 12/1/2011

primrose in west allen has been outstanding for our son. He started primrose at 3 months and we have seen his social, developmental and intellectual skills significantly increase in just a short 3 months. Most importantly each morning we drop him off he is always smiling and happy to see his teachers. Primrose is a warm, inviting environment and the entire staff is always very happy and willing to help in anyway possible. We would reccomend Primrose West Allen to any parent more

Fantastic Daycare with excellent ciruculum 1/17/2011

Our daughters have both been through the entire primrose system here in allen since they were 2 months old. From the caring and nuturing in the infant room, to the excellent teaching standard in the private kindergarten. It has been a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our oldest is now excelling in first grade, and has been advanced since day 1. Thank you for help raising and preparing our children for school. more

Primrose is our extended Family 1/7/2011

Our twins are 2 and half now and have been at Primrose West Allen since they were 3 months old to the day. As a first time Mom and mother of twins I needed a lot of help that first year. The wisdom and support we had through the teachers and staff, particularly Mrs. B., was invaluable. I know that our kids are getting a solid foundation in learning and development and we have ""partners"" in raising our kids. ""It takes a village"" and Primrose West Allen is ours! Thank you! more

Primrose School of West Allen is Fantastic! 1/7/2011

We started my son in home care and transition to Primrose when he was 3. The primrose team made the transition for my son so easy! The whole primrose staff was very nurturing and patient with him as he learned the daily routine. I wish I had known about them before so I could have started him there as an infant. My husband and I are constantly amazed with all the knowledge he has gained during the time he has been at Primrose. As a mom, I love knowing he is in a SAFE, LOVING, and FUN environment. As an educator, I truly appreciate the WELL-ROUNDED CURRICULUM. Since my son has a late summer birthday we look forward to taking advantage of spending another year at Primrose to help really prepare him for public school. Another added plus is the hands on involvement with their administrative team and owners. more

Home away from Home! 1/7/2011

Primrose of West Allen has truly been a home away from home for my children. We have been attending this school for the past two years. It was a hard transition to go from a stay at home mom to a working mom, and Primrose’s wonderful administrative staff and teachers really made it so much easier. They are always willing to check on the kids and give you updates. I have been extremely impressed by the open lines of communication and their willingness to help with any and all concerns. As a parent I appreciate the loving environment (my son ALWAYS wants to hug his teachers before he leaves) and, as an educator, I appreciate the vast amounts of knowledge the children have gained since they have become Primrose kids. Most importantly, my kids are always clean and smiling when I pick them up! more

Great school!!! 1/6/2011

This is a great school. My son has been here for 4 years now and has grown by leaps and bounds. The development both on a personality as well as academic front has been a joy. The staff is very caring, involved and cordial. When you see smiling and satisfied teachers, with a very low turnover that tells me a lot about the school. I would highly recommend this school to all. more

Extremely Satisfied 1/6/2011

From the moment my wife and I walked into Primrose, we both new that this was the perfect place for our daughters. First and foremost, CLEAN AND ORGANIZED!!! This may not sound like much but, coming from other pre-school visitations, this should rank high. If a preschool cares this much about keeping the environment clean/organized, only imagine what they can do for your kids! The educators work well with all kids and are fully involved with every child's progress. My youngest daughter (2yr) has already shown vast improvement in interpersonal skills, vocabulary strengthening, socializing, and cognitive recognition. Every morning it has become routine for our youngest to come in and, with a big smile on her face, say ""school today?"" and ""I see my teacher today!"" With Primrose, we know for certain that our daughters are in good hands. more

Excellent ChildCare 1/6/2011

Primrose West Allen is like an extension of your family! We cannot say enough good things about this school. We have 2 children who go to this school and have been since they were infants. As working parents, we wanted to make sure that our children were in the best hands possible and we found exactly that at Primrose West Allen. Our oldest child actually wants to go to school every day and loves her teachers and friends! We are constantly amazed at the excellent education she is receiving in such a warm, caring and inviting environment! more

We aboslutely love this Primrose!!! 1/6/2011

We wouldn't take our children anywhere else. We have been at this daycare for over 3 years, just enrolling our youngest at this school for an additional couple of years. We love all of the teachers, and staff. The facility is always very clean, and the staff is very friendly and caring for our children. The kids love to go there each morning, impressing us at home every day with new things they have learned that we weren't expecting so soon, such as Spanish words, adult-like conversations, and maturity. We absolutely love this school and highly recommend them to anyone we can!!! more

Wonderful facility! 1/6/2011

My 3 year old started here shortly after his birthday, and was working on potty training. They helped motivate him to completely learn, while making it a positive experience. The teachers have a heart for children and have been wonderful about keeping me updated on his progress and any trials that happen during the day. He loves going to school and learning new things, and will often tell me about what they are learning when I pick him up. The staff are always friendly and work hard to know all of the students by name personally, which says a lot to me about how the facility is run. more

My Daughter Has Learned So Much! 1/6/2011

My daughter just turned two and has been with Primrose for almost a year! She loves it and has learned so much. \r I am so grateful for how loving they are to her and it makes me feel so good to know I can be working hard throughout the day and she is happy and content. \r \r I can say that there are schools out there that are less expensive but my husband and I through experience honestly know that you get what you pay for. We get so much more from Primrose than we would at any other school.\r \r more
