Prima Donna Restaurant

Very friendly greeter and staff. The menu has a lot of entrees that you cant find somewhere else although they are a little pricey in the $25-$30 range. My veal wasn't a huge portion but did fill me up. Fiance had a huge chicken dinner with plenty leftover. All in all we really enjoyed it and will go again. more

The food is alright. Two problems... the prices are for a grand restaurant. $18.95 for eggplant parm? Are you kidding? That should be about $10 - even $13 at a great restaurant. \r \r They were out of shrimp, t-bone steaks, and something else. \r \r Will never go back. For that price I can go to Nakama or some place a LOT nicer. more

We went to La Prima Donna to celebrate my fiance's 30th birthday. Our party consisted of 5 people. My uncle wanted lasagna which they did not have. My aunt wanted ravioli or manicotti which again they were out of stock. My fiance ordered veal, but the waitress brought chicken. I order the Linguini with Clams. After one bite I realized the clams were old and had a very foul smell and taste. I hated to complain, but I sent the food back. I wasn't sure if I even wanted another entree. The waitress suggested to me that the chef could make a similar dish with shrimp. It was fair, but much better than my original choice. When the bill came the waitress stated that rather than charging $4 more for the shrimp, they would just charge me for the less expensive clams. I feel like that if old clams had been served at another restaurant the entree would have been taken off of the bill. However, the paying for the meal did not bother me, it was the poor tasting food. The salad that came with the entree was less than spectacular as well. It looked as if something that might have been served at a fast food restaurant. The manager was very nice and gave us several bottles of their signature salad dressing which was very good. I appreciated the kind gesture but do not think I will return to this restaurant. \r A friend recommended the place but warned that they're quite slow. Well, that's an understatement.....they were RUTHLESSLY slow. We had decided to place an order for to go, to bypass their slow service- it turns out that tactic did not work after all. It took the restaurant 1 hour and twenty minutes (after placing the call) to cook us two plates of average-sized seafood pasta. But get this: when we got to the place, there were only two couples eating at the whole restaurant (Sunday night, around 8ish)...so, we wondered why they took forever to put together a couple of plates that were just ...okay?? A few more things: seafood portion was okay, not exactly teeming w/ shrimps, scallops but then, it was only $24.95. The sauce was kind of bland, not enough spices and the linguine was a little overcooked. \r \r Finally, our main waitress was apathetic, totally neglectful. While we were waiting for our food, I asked the waitress to give me the menu in case I wanted to order the dessert.. At first, she was pleasant, gave me the menu...to never being seen again until 10 minutes later. I had to flag her down; by this time, she looked annoyed when I asked about the strawberry shortcut, such as how long it would take to get it (like would it have been another 20 minute wait (FORGET THAT!) after getting the pasta- like who knows how the kitchen staff (dys)function in their 'does not make sense' slow-mo fashion??) did I disturbed her, interrupting whatever the heck she was doing? God, the NERVE of her putting on such an attitude- she sure got it at the end when I told my husband to ding her on the service tip. Luckily another (older) waitress, a lady in her 40s, stepped in...helped us out, etc..She was pretty good- maybe if she had helped us earlier, it would have mitigated the mounting, hair-pulling frustration as it was growing by the minute after waiting, waiting, waiting.....\r \r Pros: a good local grub Cons: obnoxioulsy slow- don't arrive too hungry, eating the tablecloth may be too tempting more

On Friday evening the restaurant was nearly empty and it took a long time to get served.\r My Master Card showed a bill for $71.28 which should have been $78.40 minus $19.00 for my Entertainment Card discount for a total of $59.40. I left a $10.00 tip on the table and marked that on my bill and my receipt. I called and relayed that information and was told that a 20% gratuity was automatically added on even though I had designated my actual gratuity when I signed the check. I can't believe the servise I got. The food was even better. This upscal romantic restaurant is my favorate... A bit pricey, but worth every penny... I would recomend the Primadonna anytime. more

The Primadonna restaurant has great foods with prices that aren't high at all. The service is tremendous. It is a top of the line Italian restaurant. more
