HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! 11/29/2008

My son has been going here since he started going to the detist at a very early age. Dr. Pretzer is a warm, friendly and personable individual with a gentle manner. He listens and guides for correct trreatment choices. I have great faith in him and this practice. My son has had only positive experiences, and really feels comfortable with Dr. Pretzer. We wouldn't see anyone else in Raleigh. This practice is everything a parent would hope to find for their child. more

They've given my daughter a positive attitude about dental care 10/26/2007

I came in looking for the phone number & thought I'd comment on the one review I see here. We were VERY nervous and upset about the no parents policy when our daughter was tiny-- she's been seeing Dr. Parrish from the very beginning. But the practice came HIGHLY recommended from every single person I talked to, so we toughed it out. Now my daughter is a teenager and I can't praise this practice and its policies enough. My daughter feels responsible for her own teeth and understands everything she's been taught by Dr. Parrish. After the first couple of visits she went back alone with barely a whimper-- and she was barely talking at that point. I think it's because they talk to the kids throughout their examination-- rather than over their heads to their parents. They're also extraordinarily patient and let a child acclimate to the examination area before starting the exam. I don't really know how they do it, but I know that my daughter has always had a MUCH better attitude about dental care and dentists than I did as a kid. An autistic child would be a different matter and I have no idea what sort of challenges that would involve, but in situations like mine, I highly recommend Dr. Parrish and his coworkers. more

Super dentist environment for kids 8/9/2005

This pediatric dentist group is really a neat place to take your kid. The whole place is very kid friendly, with attractive murals painted onto the walls in the waiting rooms, and a staff who is committed to children. The only downside to this group is that parents are not allowed in the patient area to be with their kids. This is most likely because the patient area is rather large, with lots of children being seen at once. If they let one parent back, all the kids would probably clamor for theirs, too. As a parent of a special needs child with autism, however, I did not feel comfortable with this set-up. Other kids may be fine, but my child needed a parent with her in that dentist chair. This is why we stopped going to this group. We still highly recommend them to other parents who aren’t concerned about their no-parents-in-the-patient-area policy. more
