Found on internet and called to repair air conditioner. They called me back and told me when to expect a tech for support. Tech called about 10 minutes after the first call - and asked me if I was home. I said yes and he arrived within 5 minutes. My AC compressor was not coming on - just the fan was blowing all the time. My electric bill was going up with the heat!
Tech checked a lot of stuff and tracked the issue down to a relay on the circuit board of the unit, outside. He replaced it in a few minutes and turned the unit on. It worked! The tech suggested I have it tuned up. I tend to forget about maintenance, until I have to get it. But I decided I better keep this unit working, so I bought their maintenance plan. It was on discount - as I found a coupon on their web site. He tuned it up and charged the system with freon, oiled the fans and checked my filters (among some other tech stuff with a meter). We replaced the inside filter too. He left and I paid under $100. Now my AC only runs a few minutes, when it used to run for hours, trying to heat or cool the house.
I do not know how much of a difference this will make for my electric bill, but I bet it will go down by more than the $100 I spent to fix and tune-up my system.
Precision Air employee was very knowledgeable and thorough in his work. We appreciate his time and will see them back again in the fall to do our tune-up again every six months. I know I want to keep the electric bills as low as I can so I can buy my wife a great Christmas present.
