Decent Vietnamese, excellent value, good service 8/4/2008

pleasantly surprised to find near authentic vietnamese in san francisco. pho was very good. you could taste the cinnamon and star anise. iced coffee with condensed milk was also very good. hostess was very helpful with our touristy questions. would definitely eat there again. Pros: good pho, rice and noodle dishes...excellent price...good decor more

The Best Imperial Rolls! 8/20/2006

I've just been here once but I had a great experience. The imperial rolls are the best I've had in SF so far - very fresh and tasty. The vermicelli and pork was excellent too. And you can't beat the prices. Pros: Food Cons: parking more

Great food, big portions, low price. 9/22/2005

Order the #1, thats all there is to it. Big bowl of noodles that just has so much flavors, espcially the soup. The bowl of noodles is especically good on a cold day (its like that everyday in san francisco.) Prices are very reasonable, $6 for a huge bowl of beef noodles. Pros: Cheap, Noodle Soup Cons: Parking more

My favorite vietnamese place... 7/13/2005

Basically I either come here for #1 or the imperial rolls over vermicelli noodles. #1 is the extra large boll of pho (noodle soup) with flank steak, tripe, and beef balls. Its all about the broth, once you have a sip, its hard to stop. Pros: Pho, Soup, Price more

Fresh Food 5/24/2005

Fresh ingredients and tasty food. Great place to eat. Not a fancy atmosphere, but the food is worth a visit. more

delicious 5/20/2005

Try the five spice chicken rice plate - to die for, or the imperial rolls. This place is cheap, delicious, and fast. clean, too. Don't get the pho, it's hardly above mediocre, the rice noodles come in one big lump at the bottom of your bowl. Pros: cheap, delicious Cons: bad pho more

absolutly YUMMY! 7/17/2004

This place has the best pho and rice plates EVER! If you have never stopped by for a lunch break ... YOU ARE MISSING OUT! I love a little spice in my food, so i recommed the Satay Pho or the Curry Chicken Pho/Rice plate. Also check out it's ""sibling"" PPQ Dungeness Island on Clement street. Pros: one word ..YUM! more

Great for lunch 12/3/2003

The menu's the same, lunch and dinner, but I love this place for lunch because the room is so light and airy. High ceiling, white walls and lots of daylight. The food has been amply described by other reviewers: solid execution with excellent value. The service is perfunctory, but not uncaring. Also, PPQ is very family-friendly. Many large asian family groups lunch here; gringos are equally welcome. more

Try the 5 spice chicken and imperial rolls. The chicken is super crispy yet still moist and tender. The imperial rolls are fried to perfections. All for a great price. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Bad parking more

PPQ4U 12/20/2002

Great place to eat. I usually go there once a week with my friend. We love that place. My friends go there to eat now too. I recommend #1 or #15 on the menu, those are my favorites. Cons: Parking more

Best Viet Food in the Sunset 9/22/2002

Where else can you get a GOOD bowl of pho or a plate of bbq pork over rice in the sunset?? PPQ is the place to go...This is one of the few pho places that I actually enjoy! Imperial and shrimp rolls make for great appetizers..I enjoy the rare-flank steak pho best...but most everything is delicious. For dessert...have a cup of vietnamese coffee (make sure to order in the beginning to let it drip) or the 3-colored drink! GREAT PRICE more

wonderful Vietnamese food 6/13/2002

Hearty portions of meat and veggies in their noodle soups. Their broth is very tasty. The Vietnamese coffee and the three-color drink are both delish. The imperial rolls are also very good. more
