Everything For The Household, Except The Kitchen Sink! 12/22/2006

We cannot go to Lenox Square, without dropping into the Pottery Barn. Always new merchandise, and ideas. Last year we found the super-sized Martini Glasses, we just love. Classic design, weight, and holding a perfect Martini. We've replaced window treatments here, several times over. And we always have to buy a candle or two. We also like their sister store, West Elm, at Atlantic Station. A little pricy, but they have the goods! Pros: Great Houseware Assortment! Nice Candle Selection! Cons: Can Get Pricy! more

Pottery Barn Review 2/24/2003

I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the pieces I ordered by catalog . . . I was told these weren't PB standard items, and were therefore manufactured "private label" and sent from that distributor's location. In other words, they had no control over the quality. The sofa I ordered looked like it was sewn by the blind. Additionally, the leather chair and ottoman I ordered did not match each other. I was told they have no control over that either. Be careful! Pros: great styles, good shipping/del. Cons: misrepresent colors, store not helpful, low quality more

The polished glow of success 6/3/2002

What upwardly mobile 20 to 30-something doesn't covet Pottery Barn's sparkling martini sets, sumptuous chenile bed throws or scented candles? The smell of success wafts throughout the store. The sales people curtly help you find the perfect gift for a friend's house warming party, and you'll probably end up taking home something for yours as well. Nothing original here, but that's not surprising. Pros: neat, clean, it's what you expect Cons: too neat, too clean, it's what you expect more

Editorial

  • In Short
One of Williams Sonoma's three retail branches, Pottery Barn started with dishware and crystal, and then expanded its inventory to include everything from shower curtains and linens to leather couches and bed frames. Everything is cool, in a spare, semi-rustic way, and the chain's customer-service philosophy and on-site decorating advisors ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
