Mediocre pasta, baby-boomer crowd with nice cars 9/16/2009

The food here is average, but the prices are above average. It is an attractive restaurant though with a nice patio and an indoor fountain. This is one of Louisville's hotspots for the 40+ crowd. On any given night you can walk by and smell the expensive cigars and ooh and aaah at the fancy cars parked outside, especially on the weekends. The service and the pizzas are good. Pros: nice cars parked by it, patio, now famous location Cons: overpriced more

Wow! -- a meal I'll never forget!! 8/14/2009

What an amazing evening. Not just the food, but the whole ambiance of the place. I couldn't get enough of Porcini's fabulous entertainment and service. We must have been the last people to leave. My ""date"" is still talking about what an unforgettable time she had. Pros: Fantastic service Cons: Can't think of any more

Clueless In Louisville 5/2/2009

Derby weekend has been a nightmare the last two years...I won't return. Not only can't they seat you within 2 hours of your scheduled time, they can't find the time to give you an update, they don't buy you a drink for the inconvenience. If you want to eat dinner there, schedule a breakfast time and you might actually get a table. Loved the place in year one, the last two years have totally sucked. Pros: The food, when you finally get it, is pretty good Cons: There is zero customer service orientation here more

Good food but dissapointing service. 11/27/2007

It may have been from being dissapointed from the start. We had done a search for seafood restuarants and this one popped up (may not have been a citysearch result). It was a good Italian place with excellent atmosphere and did have a reasonable selection of seafood items, but not what I would classify as a seafood place. I selected the scallops which was a special and they were excellent. The fried artichokes were also a very good appetizer. The waitress did well until the main course came but then forgot about us. We got more service from the bus boy after that. As service is just as important to me as the food, I can give no more than three stars. Pros: Great food. Cons: Poor service. more

Italy comes to the Bluegrass 6/1/2004

Great restaurant, especially for entertaining out-of-town guests. Atmosphere is casual but classy. Food was outstanding and authentically Italian. The calamari was excellent and the wine list is outstanding. Highly recommended for special occasions. Pros: Food, Music, Overall atmosphere more

Can't miss! 2/9/2003

My husband and I always enjoy Porcini and consider it one of our top three restaurants in Louisville. Food is excellent; especially the mussels and pastas. Their wine selections are bountiful and don't pass on the tiramisu for dessert! The service is attentive and knowledgeable. If you must wait for a table, the bar is a great place to pass the time. It's also a fun place to people watch! more
