I am sure glad I found these negative reviews before I went to meet up with these people! I saw some of their properties and they certainly look nice, but it isn't worth it to put up with the horrible landlords and legal issues. I have to say I have lived 7.5 years of bliss at my current abode in Santa Maria, but unfortunately need to relocate to SLO or at least Five Cities to be closer to Cal Poly come Fall. more

Maybe nice for owners, BUT BE VERY LEARY OF ANYONE DEMANDING MONEY BEFORE THEY SHOW YOU A RENTAL PROPERTY! These folks want $10 per person BEFORE you can view a property!!! OMG, what?!? AN ID, OF COURSE. A COMPLETED APP, SURE, but money BEFORE you see the property?!? How cash-strapped and desperate are they to be the ONLY management company that expects you to pay to SEE a rental?!? Scary and exactly what EVERY national consumer adviser says to STEER CLEAR OF! more

Gone overboard against landlord/Owner 9/7/2011

Pope Management seems to have read previous reviews complaining about refunding deposits, because now they are favoring the tenants over the owners when it is the owners paying Pope for their services. Pope has fought us, the owners, when we have been more than fair on allocating costs for cleaning and damages caused by the tenants. We shared costs 50-50, but Pope actually suggested to the tenants they seek redress in the courts to recover less than $500. more

WARNING LABEL 5/2/2008

This rental agency should come with the guarantee of ""DO NOT Expect to be Treated Fairly Upon Your Departure"" . Undoubtedly, what is presented to you as your ""Security Deposit Reconciliation"" upon your move-out is an unjustifiable outrage. The longest-term tenants gets absolutely no leeway for the most ordinary everyday wear and tear. They are demeaned for their living standards if they dare insist they did leave the home clean. No matter how pleasant and problem-free your tenancy had been, once it becomes time for your deposit to be fairly refunded, Dr.Jekyll becomes a pompous Mr. Hyde, one with lawyers on retainer. BEWARE - THIS WILL NOT END UP TO BE A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE! more

This was the most unprofessional man I have ever dealt with! He tried to pad costs for everything! He is rude, would not respond when issues happened to the property, and I he did try to point fingers at me ...Like are you sure you didn't break that waterheater? \r Run far from them.....there are most more trustworthy property managements in the area! more

And of course, they cheat you out of security deposit by always padding carpet cleaning costs, even when the carpet is not worth the amount of carpet cleaning. more

behind the professional front necessary to barely avoid legal action, an extremely unprofessional, and discriminatory enterprise. you will find extensive difficulties in obtaining your security deposits refunded fairly, as a matter of course charged with excessively ""padded"" cleaning/repair charges upon move-out. any and all repair and maintenence of your rental is dependent only upon a personal estimation of your financial value as a tenant versus the legal requirement. albeit the best properties and property owners, the sub-standard business ethics sooner or later to be encountered in doing business with this company far outweigh any immediate advantage to be found in occupying their above-average rental properties. widely known among local renters for their unfair business practices based on personal prejudices. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! more

HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE ALL THE OTHER RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY MANAGERS WE VISITED BY A MILE, NOT ONLY IN THE FINE QUALITY OF THE MANY STYLES OF RENTALS THEY OFFER AND THE CARE SHOWN TO BE TAKEN IN THEIR MAINTAINANCE THEM FOR THE MORE READILY RESPONSIBLE , MOST WILLINGLY WELL RECOMMENDED AND THE MORE ABLY QUALIFIED APPLICANT AVAILABLE TO SIGN THEIR YEAR LONG LEASES VERSUS THE MONTHLY AGREEMENTS OFFERED BY THE OTHERS WHICH ARE SO MUCH HARDER ON THE PROPERTIES, BUT ALSO FOR THE MOST WELCOME SURPRISE OF THE OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFERED WITH FRIENDLY SMILES ALONG WITH COURTEOUS, EFFICIENT AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICE OFFERED US NOWHERE ELSE WE HAD VISITED.
