Black Raspberry plant 8/3/2016

My wife received a plant for Mother's Day. She planted it - died. Called Ponderosa & was told they would replace it & send it on Mon., (this was a Thur.), so it wouldn't sit in a hot warehouse. I asked to purchase one at the same time. I was told no charge since we had a problem! THREE weeks later we got it & was ONLY 1 plant, not 2 & the box said 2 plants. It was wilting & my wife planted it & it died! My wife has plants from 1977 & was moved twice. She has at least 1 hundred plants, she KNOWS gardening. We feel that we were cheated - TWICE. Our email is My name is Gene McIlroy. IF Ponderosa is reading this - you have my phone #. Due to too many unwanted & crank calls I won't put the # here. I am willing to give it to you, just not here. We are not at all happy with this situation! more

Where's the rhubarb?? 6/5/2016

Just bought a Gro Fast rhubarb that's grown and packed by Ponderosa Nursery in Hamilton, MI, from Home Depot. Got it home and opened the bag that was supposed to have two rhubarb stalks, and there's nothing but a bag of mulch. No rhubarb at all! And they have no email address or phone number to contact them. Shady... more

Great. friendly place! 6/5/2008

Love to go to Ponderosa for their friendly service. We used to go to a competitor in nearby Holland, but we got sick of the rudeness. We've always felt welcomed, and will continue to return there. Oh, and previous poster "Bev", you're an idiot for giving Ponderosa one star for something that's obviously the fault of your local retailer. more

Ponderosa Nursery in Mass Retail 3/11/2007

I live in St. Albans, WV and our local K-Mart store is selling pint size containers with 'cultivated stock' of Gro Fast Perennials - grown and packed at Pondersa Nursery, Hamilton, MI. My internet search for this company lead me to your website, for they have no site of their own. I purchased a perennial Lupine plant which was not in very good shape, however I was set on bringing it home, putting it in the nursery part of my house with other seedlings and plant starts to get it in shape for spring planting. The plant has shown no signs of regrowth. My quandry is (1) will this Lupine plant root system grow again this season for a spring planting, if not this spring, will it ever regrow and is it worth keeping? (2) if the plant dies, is there any type of money back guarantee from Ponderosa Nursery? If so, how do I obtain it? I think Ponderosa should know that some of the retailers they are selling to are not adequately handling their product and therefore, no one is profiting. I'm sure that the unsold inventory will be trashed and what a waste of time and natural resources. Maybe retailers such as K-Mart could donate "last legged" plants to groups in the community for a Green Friendly world. I apologize for having to use your space to air my frustration. Great Little Nursery! 10/28/2005

I like going to Ponderosa Nursery. They aren't that easy to find, - kind of off the beaten path, - but their plants are of good quality. They are helpful. They have Christmas Wreaths, Door Charms, - etc. for sale in the later part of November and December that are very well made, long lasting and very pretty. We also get all of our wood chips from them in the spring. more

we just keep going back 9/26/2005

It’s a little bit of a drive for us to get to Ponderosa Nursery, but we’re really impressed with the staff, selection and quality of the plans and landscaping materials. What a wonderful value for your money. To me it’s really worth the drive. I’ve always been, and am sure to continue to be impressed! more

very helpful 8/21/2005

What a great selection of different plants. I really like the variety they have to choose from. Since I don’t have the greenest thumb in the neighborhood, it’s nice to know I can ask many questions and they are always willing to supply me with an answer, even if I have to wait while they find out! more

Lots of Options 8/12/2005

We go to Ponderosa Nursery in Hamilton every year to get bark for our landscaping. I'm always amazed at the options you have, not only in plants, but just in bark colors alone. Maybe it's the same everywhere, but Ponderosa seems different. They are always asking if they can help you and they have a cute little dog there - it just seems so homey. more
