This is one of those hotels that makes you wish you lived decades ago. Every aspect of this hotel is perfection! The decor, the staff, the beauty, is impeccable. Without a doubt, ...

I dropped in for one night in LA and while staying at the hotel the staff wasn't very welcoming and they were a bit on the snobby side. The next morning I was planning on dining i...

Nice Ambience but Overpriced 12/29/2006

I just came for drinks and while the lounge was cozy and the hotel quite pretty, it wasn't really enough to justify the overpriced martinis ($17.50). For the same coziness with better seats, better looking people and an ocean view, I still prefer drinking martinis at casa del mar. more

Loved It! 11/19/2006

I enjoyed my stay at Beverly Hills Hotel and loved each meal from the Polo Lounge. The Salmon was excellent! I dined at Polo Lounge 5 nights straight. I even came down at night to hear the piano player, etc. It was very very romantic. Polo Lounge is definitely an awesome get away spot. Regardless of your age 21-99. It's a great way to treat yourself to something special. more

F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! 11/19/2006

Thanks to the Front Desk & Staff at Beverly Hills Hotel for making our stay F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! While in Beverly Hills on business I decided to treat myself to a 5 night stay at the Pink Palace. I enjoyed it tremendously. My suite was perfect (very relaxing). If you get a chance to stay at this hotel you won't be disappointed. The only word I can think of to discribe my experience is "paradise". Celebrity sightings were an awesome experience. I highly recommend this property. Everything was right at my fingertips, ie. great food, swimming pool, tennis, salon, spa, etc. Pros: Privacy, Limos, Concierge, Gift Shop, Salon On Location, Polo Lounge Cons: None more

Food is AVERAGE 11/2/2006

The restaurant is over rated for sure. I went here for my birthday, and it was a bit of a disappointement when it came to our meal. The atmosphere is kinda old fashioned. I guess people like this place because the history behind it. It's a nice place to have lunch and people watch, but that's only if you want to spend an arm and a leg for average food. Pros: People watching Cons: food more

EXCEPTIONAL 9/10/2006

Outstanding in every aspect. Everything during our stay, the staff, services, grounds, rooms, etc. exceeded every one of our high expections. A true treasure. Pros: Everything Cons: not one more

BRUNCH - Skip it 6/7/2006

I expected more. Come on, it is the POLO LOUNGE for goodness sakes. The atmosphere is superior (beautiful, live jazz, good service), but the food wasn't anything special. For $140 for me and my wife, I expected my taste buds to explode! But in fact, all we did during the meal was discuss our disappointment. The Polo Lounge may once have been THE place, but to us they (the cooks) are now resting on their laurels. If all you are interested in is atmosphere, The Polo Lounge has loads of it. But if you want a fine dining experience - look elsewhere. Pros: Ambience Cons: Food more

The Best 3/3/2006

The Best in LA, nothing else needs to be said. Pros: Service, Location, accomadations more

The Best Service 6/27/2005

Looking past the expensive but delicious food I would say the greatest characteristic of the Polo Lounge is the great service. It seemed like every employee in there assisted us at least once and no one was trying to rush us through our meal. They also provided a nice selection of breads and the desserts were unique and tasty. Pros: Great Service, Great Food Cons: Expensive more

Great Place - Fun and Food 6/10/2005

A wonderful, relaxing place to get exceptional food served by impeccable and very friendly staff. Sunday brunch outside is always the best. Lunch and dinner outside are fantastic. The food is consistent, extremely high quality and perfectly prepared. Been to brunch, lunch and dinner several times and always want to return. Pros: Service, Food, Ambience Cons: None more

worth the splurge 5/11/2005

this is a must-do each time we visit LA. The service is always polished, the food good, good chance of seeing celebs, and no one rushes you out. The angel hair pasta fruitti di mare is loaded with seafood, not the usual 6 shrimp, nice variety of breads in the basket, good lobster salad and tiger prawn salad. Make reservations if you want to be sure to sit outside; good luck getting one of the secluded alcove tables. The Hollywood glam atmosphere makes it a fun girl's lunch splurge. Pros: great atmosphere, good food, polished service Cons: the price more

Love Getting Drinks at the Bar 3/14/2005

it's so old-fashioned with the piano player and the all the pink decor. total throwback to another era. you'll see everyone here from longtime dignitaries to beverly hills parents waiting for the their kids proms to be over. the patio always seems to have bachelorette parties or birthdays, or in the daytime, ladies lunching and brunching. i've experienced nothing but good service there, whether i was dressed up for a night on the town or stopped in spontaneously wearing jeans. Pros: great martinis, classic ambience Cons: food pricey, mostly only valet more

Step back into BH history 11/19/2002

Everything about the property feels like you are hanging out in BH in the 1920s. Very glamorous and the decor is great. more

Brunch with the girls was fantastic 9/19/2002

Last Sunday, my best girlfriends and I decided to have a fancy "ladies about town" brunch to celebrate ourselves and we chose the Polo Lounge--and it was everything we could have hoped for (except inexpensive, of course!). Old Hollywood glamour was abounding. The mimosas and Blood Marys were delicious, the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were perfect, as was the fresh fruit. Another girl had steak tartare, and two had French toast, and we were all oohing and ahhing. We topped it off with chocolate mousse cake and an apple tart to share. It was divine. The meal was pricey, for sure. But we really felt like we were treating ourselves, and why shouldn't we once in a while? Pros: old Hollywood glamor, see-and-be-seen place, delicious food Cons: expensive more

Great Food & Service 8/16/2002

We have been coming to the Polo Lounge for a number of years. Although the menu offerings have changed, the food quality and professional service has not! We have always been pleased with the food and service and suggest those that have not yet been here to try it. Breakfast is a sleeper here, give it a shot! Pros: Food, Service, Ambiance more

Charming but Lacking 5/30/2002

If history is a compelling factor to visit a bar, then this is a must-stop. Otherwise, I found its charm to be insufficient to justify the steep drink prices and rather ordinary presentation. My cocktail came in a regular long glass and wasn't all that strong. The chips and guacamole were served in a similarly non-striking way and the guacamole was spilled over the side of its dish -- No attention to detail at all. I was expecting a lot more. Maybe it's just that our generation is spoiled by theme bars, fancy glasses, velvet furniture and dark lighting. Maybe the Polo Lounge is past its prime. Maybe its both. Pros: lots of history Cons: expensive more

  • The Pink Palace's historic dining room is lush with dark green and cream-striped walls, massive leather booths and a theatrical patio where diners eat among flowering vines, shocking-pink archways and a gorgeous knotted oak tree. Large, round tables of power brokers, lunching socialites and moneyed international playboys are the real view. With a place so full of glitz and glamour, the extravagantly priced Cal-Asian cuisine seems secondary. Seared ahi tuna and T-bone steak are part of the classic American menu, while the famed brunch is a favorite with standards like French toast paired with sour cranberries and crispy pecans.
