I had heard good things about Dr. Pollack and was very excited to see her, but my experience was AWFUL. I was referred to her from my OB-Gyn, and went for a ""Pre-Op"" because I needed a vascular fibroadenoma removed from my breast. After waiting an hour for Dr. Pollack to come into my examination room, she came in for less than five minutes and told me she would have the Nurse come in and schedule my surgery. I was trying to ask a couple questions and she answered them really shortly while backing out of the room like she was too busy to talk to me. When the nurse, Leslie, took me into another room to schedule my appointment, I told her I was feeling a little uneasy about it, as I had not gotten to talk to Dr. Pollack very long and had some more questions. So then Dr. Pollack came by again and I told her I was feeling uneasy, but before I even had a chance to ask the questions, Leslie told Dr. Pollack to leave, that it was under control, and she would talk to me alone for a second. So Dr. Pollack left! I was so confused how a doctor could let the nurse order her around like that, I wanted to talk to the Doctor! THEN Leslie started yelling at me about how she was the Manager of that office and she trained all of the staff to PERFECTION and that I would never find a better doctor than ""Jo"" and she would refund my copay and I could leave and go find another doctor. It was so rude, so I asked if I could return for another appointment when a family member could accompany me, and then Leslie took me out to the waiting room, demanded that the girl at the front desk refund my copay and yelled at me that I needed to leave the office and go get another doctor. I was so embarrassed, I've never been treated that way in my life, and regardless of any other reviews, I could never trust a doctor who lets their staff act like that. Please go to another doctor, there are many excellent doctors in Houston, no need to waste your time here.
Pros: Nothing - I had high hopes because of all her good reviews, but obviously Dr. Pollack has become too busy to care about her new patients
Cons: EVERYTHING! The ""head' nurse was so rude and unprofessional and Dr. Pollack let her act that way! Plus she wouldn't answer my questions about the surgery
