wow! I love this place. I think it is great. For all those who complained about the service, I think it has changed tremendously. They are all VERY nice and helpful. I thought the pizza was very tasty! Mushroom one was bomb! Patio seating! LOTS of beers on tap! TV for sport games! I would recommend it most certainly! Pros: PIZZA,SERVICE,ATMOSPHERE more

Good Pizza Rude Management 4/19/2009

I called my pizza in for pickup and the person who took my order could barely speak English so it took a little longer to get my order in, then when i arrived i walked in to see the manager yelling at the counter person. I have worked in the service industry before and i have yet to see such terrible behavior from a store manager. i don't think i will be going back to pizza roma unless i get desperate Pros: Super Good Pizza Cons: Mgmt Is rude more

Great pizza but terrible management 4/18/2009

Like many of the other reviews, I too want to like this place, as the pizza and environment is wonderful. However, the management, especially the older lady are terrible and down right rude to customers and employees. Since when is it okay to yell at employees in front of customers??? Also, they claim to be eco-friendly, but there is nothing eco-friendly about this place except the corn made compostable cups that go directly in the trash can and not in the compost. I'll continue to go back, but only to check if there is new management, at that time I will start eating their delicious pizza again. Until then I would recommend going to another pizza joint. Pros: Pizza and beer selection Cons: management and lies of eco-friendly environment more

good food, One horrible server! 10/16/2008

Unlike the last two reviews, I do like Pizza Roma, granted I'm more into the cheese pizza then the other options. But what I like the most is when I walk in a see the short red-head-semi-butch working the counter. I know undoubtedly that I will be leaving no tip on this visit. This women has no people skills, is unabashedly rude and acts like a spoiled brat when asked for anything. When others are working such as the short black girl, I gladly leave a tip, but for her I make sure she sees a big fat zero every time. Pizza Roma would do a great service in canning this women! A word to the wise, trying smiling more, and being polite, and you'd get a tip. Pros: good food Cons: Short red-head server more

Pizza needs improving. 10/12/2008

Like some of the other reviewers here, I too want to like this place. The owners have spent a considerable amount of money on the restaurant, and opened up an adjacent sports bar that is very nice. We try their pizza about once a year just in case it has improved, but so far we are stilling waiting for that day. The sauce is flat and needs more spice. The crust is pretty good, however the sauce and cheese only cover about 2/3 of the top. Since the slices are V shaped, this actually leaves more like 1/2 of the whole slice without any topping, just dough that puffs up. At the very steep prices they charge, the 20"" easily hitting over $30 if you add an extra topping, that's allot to pay for bread dough. The owners should do themselves, and their customers a big favor by focusing on getting out better pizza, and reducing the high cost. Pros: Very nice place. Cons: Pizza needs a makeover. more

OK pizza + terrible service = bad time 11/1/2007

Since I moved to the Woodstock Neighborhood I've visited Pizza Roma several times.Trust me, I want to like Pizza Roma. After all, It's close to my house and I'm more inclined to buy locally whenever possible. The trouble is, everytime I have visited Pizza Roma I've had a negative experience. The last time I ordered a pizza for delivery the driver couldn't find our home. No problem, I'm a patient guy. I called back to give them directions and the manager accused me of lying about our address and refused delivery. Wow, I'm not sure why I would lie about our own address when I'm waiting to have dinner. There are so many good pizza joints in PDX I doubt I'll return to Pizza Roma. Cons: horrible service more

Don't eat there...Get your food for takeout if you really want their pizza 9/22/2007

The staff clearly doesn't comprehend what it takes to provide good customer service. The girl working the cash register was incredibly inept. I ordered a pizza and two drinks (to be consumed on the premises). After signing my name on the credit card slip that was the last interaction I had with her. A previous customer swooped in and expressed his concern that the two slices he had ordered a few minutes ago were not ready. I was left standing there waiting for my credit card receipt, my drinks and my bread sticks while she proceeded to take this guys money and go get his two slices that he had apparently ordered. She then went on to help another customer who had previously ordered slices that were not ready, completely ignoring the fact that I was standing right there! After 3 or 4 minutes of aimlessly waiting (they weren't that busy) another employee asked me if I had received the bread sticks and I said ""No and I haven't received my beverages either."" She stopped what she was doing and got me my beer and soda and eventually brought out the bread sticks (about 10 minutes later). The pizza was so-so. I don't think I'll be going back. Try Flying Pie, or my all-time favorite -- Round Table. Avoid this place! The pizza isn't that good (a companion had the ravioli and it was inedible because of too much marinara) and the service is terrible! Cons: Parking, Service, Ambience, Food more

this place has great pizza but whom ever the guy that in the back cussing all the time is a complete j--k if I were one of his employee's I would quit right now I have heard the way he talks down to them and is always cussing at them I even over heard him tell someone that thay were a stupid b---h and that put me over the top I walked out and swore that i would never step foot in that business again I would hope that the rest of the woodstock neighborhood would do the same WE SHOULD ALL SEND THIS GUY A MESSAGE AND STOP GIVING HIM OUR HARD EARNED MONEY PORTLAND HAS TO MANY GOOD PIZZA SHOPS TO PUT UP WITH PEOPLE TREATING EMPLOYEE'S BADLY more

pretty average 12/8/2006

Great location, good ambience with open dining area and several small tv's for sports watchers. The place smells great but what pizza parlour doesn't? I recommend a slice and a beer if you have to but all in all it's about as good as PaPa Murphy's. the ambivelent and unattentive staff ignore waiting customers and are slow to deliver cooked pizzas even when the business is slow, the pizzamakers neglect the pizzas while they cook resulting in several large space consuming bubbles which should be popped while they are small. I have eaten here probaly 10 times because I like to spend my money in the neighborhood I live in but with so many pizza choices out there it's hard to settle for average. Pros: neighborhood, nice big windows Cons: pizza, service more

high quality takes time 3/5/2006

I just want to let the real pizza livers out here know that this place has some of the best food i have had in portland they make everything right in front of you from the dough to the garlic ranch (the best I have ever had) almost all of the salad dressing are made from scratch. I have looked for a better place to get a great meal and a great value for many years and I must say I have finally found it!!!!! just remember like the sign that is posted by the cash registers GREAT FOOD TAKES TIME!!! and it does take time but hey they will give you free breadsticks to munch on while you wait Pros: great food , clean , friendly Cons: its on woodstock more

Great Pizza but... 2/11/2006

I have been on a tour of pizza places around Portland and I would definitely put this one in the top five. The pizza is very good. The other food items (and I have only had a few) were just mediocre. The only real problem with this place is the service - they are obvoiusly understaffed and so everything takes a long time. Also, some of the staff are unfriendly and impolite, probably because they are over worked. Well worth the difficulties if you have the time and patience. Pros: Great Pizza!!, Decent selction Cons: Slow service, Poor service, Delivery problems more
