I loved this restaurant! The whole premise was built around Scarlet's Aunt Pitty Pat. There a plenty of pictures from the movie Gone With The Wind too. I had Pork Tenderloin with curried Peanut Sauce which made my mouth do a happy dance!! It was topped with a curried peanut sauce and fresh peanuts. Also on my plate was a sweet potato and apple dish that was to die for! I wish I had the recipe. My friend and I shared desserts so we could have more than one type. The Georgia Peach Cobbler and the Bourbon Street Bread Pudding were indescribably delicious!! If you are in Atlanta, you've got to eat here, I promise you won't be sorry. more

We went to Pittypat's Porch on August 31, 2010. This was a return to great memories for us. All of our trips to Atlanta included this restaurant for many years. We were immediately greeted by a host who found the perfect table for the two of us. The menu was explained in detail. All of the staff smiled, took care of us, and acted as if they were genuinely concerned and happy about us being there. And...the live music from the piano just topped it off!!! Even he looked up from the piano keys to greet us. The food was perfectly prepared along with the presentation. Totally out of this world!!!! We were constantly being monitored by the staff to make sure that we had enough of everything. This is a great place to eat, relax, and/or entertain. If we lived in Atlanta, we would have to go at least three times a month! more

I don't understand the reviews on this place at all... This restaurant was great! If you like Gone with the Wind you'll definitely love this place. The decor is very southern as is the ambiance... Our waiter was great considering the place was PACKED and they were understaffed. We were in no way in a hurry so we didn't care. To drink I had their moonshine punch which was very good! For an appetizer we had Fried Green Tomatoes and they were so good! I could have just made a meal out of those! For dinner of course had to try the fried chicken and it came with yummy cornbread, muffins, or biscuits of your choice, mashed potatoes and gravy and a trip up to the sideboard which had a spread of several different Southern Salads. It was terrific! To top the night off we had a piece of their Classic Pecan Pie which could have been legally termed a candy bar it was heavenly! If your in Atlanta definitely check this place out! It's a great place to eat if your looking for a little bit of Country in the City! more

Whoa, I forgot about this place. It's one of the first resturants I tried when I first came to Atlanta. It is a bit difficult to find, since it is tucked away across from the Westin - so it is best to slow right going west on Andrew Young and watch your right until you see the sign. FYI, I am not sure if there is free parking. When you come in, you are greet with a nice Southern, Antebelum environment (could be a good or bad thing, depending on what side your ancestors were during the Civil War and whether they were owned or not). From there, you walk downstairs and then get seated. The food is quite good, AFAIR, no complaints with the service. more

Damn I am surprised how badly the previous reviews slammed this place. I used to go here as a child with my very Southern mother when the Peachtree Plaza was just built. I think this place is great if you are looking for good Southern Food in a very pleasant piano player filled surroundings. Calling this place touristy is funny since it is surrounded by chain restaurants and is located in a very touristy area. Of course this place is touristy, but that still doesn't mean that it isn't good and it isn't like their web page says ' an Atlanta institution'. I had a great time here. The restaurant is full of last century kitchen implements and pictures of the cast of Gone with the Wind. I agree that it is tasteful, but bordered enough on camp to inspire me to do my best Ret Butler, Scarlet O'hara, and Sally Cato (Auntie Mame) impressions. The waiter put on his best Southern accent too. (The Scarlet O'hara punch helped fuel my inspiration no doubt too). The sweat potato biscuits were to die for. You must have some with your obligatory helping of corn bread. The pecan encrusted Cat fish fingers and the black eyed pea cake appetizers took me back to my childhood travels to my relatives in Charleston. I loved the fried chicken and the Savannah crab cakes that reminded me of what my mother used to make when she felt like cooking and not ordering out. We finished our meal with some very good pecan and key-lime pie. Overall a very satisfying experience. Yeah I am sure if you are a local Atlantian you are way too 'sophisticated' to admit you would like this place, but if you are a tourist this place should be on your list of places to eat. more
