PNC - best seat in all of baseball 3/20/2007

I have spent many sunny afternoons at what I once thought was baseball's crown jewel - Wrigley Field. As a purist, Wrigley Field strikes a certain chord in the heart of a baseball fan that just feels right. But, if I was told tomorrow that the Cubs were going to tear down Wrigley Field and build an exact replica of PNC Park on Northerly Island (downtown), I would ask to lead the wrecking crew! There is no better venue in all of baseball. I have been to Turner, the Jake, Citizen's Bank, Camden Yard, Yankee Stadium, to name just a few, and none of them hold a candle to PNC. Spectacular views, fan-tastic food, and seats so close to the action you might want to wear your cup! Park downtown and take a walk across the Clemente Bridge. This park looks good, feels good, plays good and should at some point be the destination of all baseball fans. Pros: Everything baseball more

It's no 3 Rivers...Thanks be to the Baseball Gods! 3/19/2007

I've been to Wrigley (great experience - SMALL seats)-and ""The Jake"" (very stadium-like)-Oriole Park (excellent-almost as good) and a few others. PNC beats them all! Parking can be challenging (especially on Bobble-Head or Fireworks nights) so park in town for $5 and walk across Roberto's bridge - enjoy the street vendors, have a beer and a slice at Vincent's (but save room!) Concessions are pricey (compared to the $1 menu at McDonald's) though, on the whole, are much less than I have found at other Parks. Like other ""newer"" Parks the variety ROCKS - there's a Food Court themed on Willie 'Pops' Stargell on the left field side. Primanti Brothers, Benkovitz Fish, Quaker Steak & Lube grace you on the Right field side. There are so many Vendor's on the concourses that lines are RARELY an issue. Hebrew National foot long hot dogs (the best anywhere-really-none come close) are available everywhere. Pros: Price, View, FOOD, Friendly fans and staff, A complete baseball experience! Cons: Let's Go Bucs!!! They're not THAT bad... more

Wow, What A View! 3/9/2007

I love baseball, it's my favorite sport. Anytime I travel to a new city I always check out their ballpark. I went to one of the last games of the season last year at PNC Park. It happened to be on a fireworks night. I don't really care all that much for fireworks, but when they turned out the stadium lights it looked like the whole city moved into the stadium with us. It was magical. If you find yourself anywhere near the ""Burgh"" during baseball season, you owe it to yourself to see a game at PNC. For parking either park downtown and walk across the Roberto Clemente Bridge. Or park at Station Square and take the boat over to the park. Pros: Beautiful park, great views of city, friendly people Cons: The Bucs could win a bit more...maybe this year more

Amazing View 7/12/2005

I had the luxury of going to one game when I was at grad school in the area. The view from the park is amazing! I've been to a few other parks and this one has them beat on view and seating. The only downfall is that the parking is dreadfully expensive. You can pay more to park than to buy a ticket. more

Great place to hang out 5/28/2005

This park is the best in AMERICA! Ive been to many parks and this beat em' all. Its already 5 yrs old but it looks like it was built yesterday. The skyline is awesome and thisi s the reason to come to Pittsburgh. Go to Buccaroos, Very cheap food! Pros: VIEW, GIRLS, ATMOSPHERE more

Best in Baseball 4/6/2005

A beautiful skyline and the friendliest people I've ever met! Going to PNC Park was the best baseball experience I have ever had! more

One of the best 6/6/2004

Visited over the weekend. Perfect baseball experience! We started by parking for $5! and then walked over the bridge to the game. We had a great lunch outside the park before going inside. Once inside we were amazed by the views of the field and the city. The park was easy to get around with an appropriate amount of vendors (no long lines, even though the game was a sellout!) Pros: Great parking, Great service, Great views more

PNC Park is Great 8/17/2003

I saw a game there in May of 2002, and I have to say that it is a phenomenal ballpark. It was comfortable, clean and beautiful. The views of not only the field, but also the city's skyline are breathtaking. And did I mention the badass perogie races? Pros: Views, Cleanliness, Atmosphere Cons: Food Prices more

The Fabulous PNC PARK 1/30/2003

I've been to PNC PARK twice now and even though the Bucs lost both games, just being at the park was worth the trip. On a scale from one to ten I would rate it a ten because of it's riverfront setting and it's features. I love the city of Pittsburgh and was sorta disappointed when Three Rivers Stadium went down, but this new park is even better. I especially love the fireworks when the bucs hit a homer and the steaming PEPSI bottle in right field on the grandstand. A great park for a great team!!! Pros: Great infield, Awsome food, Memorable statues Cons: Parking? o.k. more

PNC Park 8/7/2002

Parking goes up as you get closer to the park, I would reccomend parking in the city, or at the Mon Wharf and taking a boat, concession stands have varying prices so shop around. Pros: New, attractive, Concession variety, Riverwalk Cons: Pirates can't win, Scarce Parking more

Pittsburgh's Temple of Baseball 7/24/2002

What a beautiful place to spend an afternoon or evening. There's probably not a bad seat in the house, good food and one AMAZING view of the city. more

Baseball like it used to be 7/23/2002

I lived in Boston for five years and enjoyed many a warm summer evening at Fenway Park. When I moved back to the burgh I couldn't stand baseball games in Three Rivers. I missed Fenway...and Forbes Field. PNC Park brings it all back. This place is awesome. Pros: inexpensive, great food Cons: Bad parking more

pleasingly perfect 7/15/2002

I had the opportunity to visit the park. Having been in Tampa for 7 years ,I haven't been in the city since 3Rivers. It was a wonderful experience. The beautiful skyline comes shining through as the night falls. The homerun balls that are hit land in the river of which you can see.The seating has NO BAD SEATS.Really, the design is favorable to high dollar seats as well as inexpensive. Give your self a treat when visiting the city. Its worth it! Oh yeah, food has great choices all over the stadium and of course.. theres beer. Pros: food choices, staff helpful, seeing all great Cons: $15 parking yuk, $7 close by parking more

""Fan Friendly"" 7/10/2002

PNC is a wonderful place to take your family for a night out! (As long as you're not hungry). The only thing we didn't like about the stadium was the concession prices! They are a bit pricey for a family of four! The park is beautiful and the staff were all friendly and very helpful! Now if we can only get the Pirates on track!! Pros: great staff, great views, very accessible Cons: concession prices too, parking prices high more

Good Park/Lousy Team 7/7/2002

I visited Pittsburgh this past weekend, and took in a Pirates game at PNC Park. It is a very glamorous park, and probably has to be one of the better parks I've seen in awhile. Unfortunately, the team that plays on the field seems to be still finding its way around it. However, almost every seat in the park is a good one. Because it also sits right near the Allegheny River, one can drive his motorboat on a fine warm day and just dock near the park, and wait and see if a player will hit a ball completely out of the park(just like Daryle Ward of Houston did). Anyways, I reccomend the ballpark, but go because of its beauty, not for its team! Also, it's easier to walk to the park than drive, since it's right near downtown. more
