This roughly century-old mansion offers probably the best views in the NW section of Portland. Situated at 900 feet in elevation and surrounded by hiking trails, on a clear day you have a panoramic view of the city framed by Mt St Helens, Mt Rainier, Mt Hood, and Mt. Adams. You can roam the grounds for free, but a tour of the mansion itself -- once owned by the publisher of The Oregonian newspaper -- is $6 for adults.
