Pike Place IS Seattle! 7/1/2008

LOVE IT! There's somethign about the Pike Place Market in the Summer Time! I love this place. And apparently so does everyone else! We live in Kent but when I come to town the PPM is the first place I go! more

Our FAVORITE Place to go in Seattle.............. 6/6/2008

We LOVE Pike Place and we go so often that several of the vendor's know us on site. They've even gottin to know us to the point that they know what we want when we come here. Pros: The Vendor's are very lpful, patient, and knowledgable Cons: Never go on Weekend afternoon that is unless you enjoy crowds. more

You have to go when you visit Seattle 11/18/2006

Pike place is as much a part of Seattle as the space needle. If you are visiting or even live in seattle, you have to go. For me, I thought it was ok. I liked looking at the things that the vendors and the shops were selling..but they were expensive. It's a good place to buy flowers tho. I have only been there a couple of times..and for me, it was enough Pros: Good tourist site, fun to browse more

Tourist fave, local mob scene/ 10/16/2006

Definitely a must if you've never been to Seattle, because everything you could want from the city is available in this half-mile stretch of covered booths. But if you've seen the sights and are just here for the produce, avoid the fanny-pack packed weekends and be sure to go in the morning, the produce is at its freshest and the vendors are more available to talk and barter. more

The best market in town--and possibly anywhere 8/28/2006

I love going to neighborhood Farmer's Markets, but Pike Place is the only place around that's a farmer's market 24/7/365. Love all the fresh fruit and veg, cheesemongers, butcher counters, fresh bread, etc--it's almost like shopping in a European market. I also love all the little bites you can treat yourself to while you shop (basically anything from the Crumpet Shop, pain au chocolat from Le Panier, tomato soup from Beecher's, souvlaki and turkish delight from Turkish Delight, I could go on and on). And who can forget awesome stores like Metzger Maps and Bavarian Meats? Pros: Great atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food Cons: Hard to park, very crowded in the summer more

Pike Place Market is a must! 4/5/2006

What's not to love?! Gorgeous flowers, beautiful art work, aromatic multi-cultural food everywhere. Everyone is very friendly. Stop at Pike Place Nuts for some ""Banana Walnuts"" then on to Market Spice to choose from their huge selection of Teas. No trip would be complete for our family without bringing home some of Beechers Award winning Flagship cheese! You can't leave without visiting the "" Original Starbucks"" !! The flying fish are good but the characters who make them fly are GREAT! Quite a novelty! Will always go back for more! Pros: great people, great food, great atmosphere more

Parking Prices going UP 5/14/2005

Us locals have always used the free Hour of parking to nip in and get our shopping done. No more - they've done away with the free Hour, and are now charging $3.00 an hour. Be warned - there's NO FREE PARKING at the Market any more. more

Pike's Place Rocks 7/22/2003

Pikes is an awesome place with lots of culture and fun. The diversity of this market is the best part of visiting it! You can find everything you want from produce to off-the-wall merchandise! I love Pike's Place and highly recommend it to anyone stuck in Seattle for any length of time. Seattle is a wonderful city and Pike's is the best place to go! Pros: Interesting and Fun, Wide Selection, Cultural and Diverse Cons: Crowded, Loud more

Cool 6/29/2003

Pike Place was cool. My wife loved all the flowers. The fish throwing thing is kind of overrated considering there are only one stand doing it and they did it when people bought fish. My wife loved the saltwater taffy in the little candy shop. Also the roll place had good cheese and jalepeno rolls. A little crowded but of course it was Saturday! A good place to go and see! Pros: Flowers Cheap!, Fun to see, Salt Water Taffy Cons: Crowded, Expensive Parking more

Very Clean City 5/6/2003

I was really impressed with how clean Seattle is. I was visiting from Chicago for a wedding there and I had a great time in your fabulous city. I loved the Market it is a wonderful experience. Plesant to see the vendors wares and I enjoyed the crowds it made the whole experience. You can't leave without getting some fresh seafood, they really know how to do it. I will definitely return when I can have more time. Great City, great Food. Go to the market you will love it too. Pros: Ambiance, Uniqueness, Quality more

Crowded, expensive, uninteresting 4/16/2003

The only thing worth seeat Pike Place is the fish market. It's too much of a hasle to fight the crowds especially on weekends and find a place to park just to wander there with nothing all that interesting to see. more

Best place to take visitors 3/19/2003

Pike Place Market 2/21/2003

This place truly reflects the liely, colorful spirit of Seattle. It can't be missed. If dodging people isn't your idea of fun, avoid the weekends. Be prepared to spend several hours as there is so much to see and do. There is a parking garage near the market...or park in the downtown area and walk to the market. Best enjoyed on a sunny day! Pros: good shopping, fresh produce, great salmon! Cons: often crowded more

Fun Place to Be 2/1/2003

Pike Place Market is an excellent place just to hang out and get your hands on all the fresh produce and fish you need. They also have a lot of beautiful plants, alive and dry flowers. Pike Place Market truly expresses everything that Seattle represents as the Emerald City. Pros: Fun, cobble stone street, always see filming Cons: a little crowded, a lot of pigeons, limited parking more

The market was lots of fun. You better like fish though. There is lots of fish to be found here! Pros: fun, different more

Flying fish are fun! 1/12/2003

My husband and I take our out of town guests here. The market is fun to tour, and it's diverse shops make it interesting. They have the most beautiful flowers, but make sure you get them in the stalls instead of the shops for the best pricing. Pros: diversity, inexpensive flowers, flying fish Cons: parking, crowded, sometimes smelly more

More than Just Flying Fish 1/3/2003

Every city has a distinct culture that emerges from some of the most unlikely places. New York has Greenwich Village, Chicago has Uptown, and Seattle has Pike Place Market. Enter and see a rich tapestry of cultures melding together in a frenetic yet somehow soothing setting. No matter where you're from, you'll feel at home at Pike Market. Pros: Obscure Artifacts, Fresh Foods, Good Prices Cons: Crowds!, Parking??, Bathrooms are messy more

TACKLE PIKE 12/21/2002
