Pianos could become a great spot in the LES with a few minor changes. First, the music which is just OK to begin with, is blasted so loud you and all your friends will be sounding like Demi Moore with a hangover the following day. Second, after 10:30 on Friday/Saturday it gets so crowded plan on waiting a while to use the restroom, cross the room or order drinks. Speaking of ordering drinks, I was there recently and I am convinced that both of the upstairs bartenders were sharing a single brain. I can't comment on the live music they have, but the set-up is similar to Mercury Lounge. I don't believe I'll be back to Pianos any time soon as my first 4 experiences were ultimately dissapointing. I will, however, try it out again in a few months time with the hopes that their growing pains result in improvement.
Pros: Atmosphere, Location, Multiple levels/rooms
Cons: Inept Bartenders, Too Crowded, Extremely Loud
