We bought our Nikon CoolPix, which, by the way is the fourth camera we have purchased from Pete’s – for ourselves and as gifts, and it was a great experience. The unfortunate thing (if there is one) is that the well-informed sales assistant, John Wombacher, has left Pete’s and moved to Maine ? However, they are all very educated about cameras, from our ‘point and shoot’ to cameras costing thousands of dollars. And friendly is an understatement.
Here is a short story to demonstrate the customer service we always receive from Pete’s – About three months after purchasing our Nikon, the power switch fell off, we took it to Pete’s and they sent it back to Nikon for a repair under warranty. BTW this was 2 months before we were leaving for Hawaii and we really wanted to take our camera. About 3 weeks later Pete’s called and told us that the Nikon service department said that our camera must have been dropped and it would cost $113 to fix, I knew the camera hadn’t been dropped and explained this to the service manager, he told me he would call Nikon back. The next day he called and Nikon was going to fix our camera under warranty. 3 weeks later we had our camera and have wonderful digital memories of Hawaii.
