Editorial review from Citysearch 6/19/2012

Even though I am only a college kid, I take my cars seriously and the people that work on them even more. Larry and his team are the only people that I let work on my car when it comes to sound and other technology. I went to other businesses before I met Larry, and even though they might be a couple bucks less, I could tell that they definitely do not have the expertise that Perzan Auto Radio has and do not stand behind all of their work these guys do. Up to last week, a business was trying to get me to do business with them, and I outright refused. In my previous Volkswagen Phaeton, they tinted the windows and installed a bluetooth hands free system. In my current Touareg Hybrid, they have done a Smartstart alarm and remote start system, upgraded my sound system, tinted my windows, installed rear entertainment, put in a radar detection system with radar jamming, and even put in a Mobileye safety system. It was definitely not easy to do work on my Touareg as it being a hybrid and not having a lot of software out for it yet, but when Larry is determined, he will get anything done and get it done right. He even went as far as to get the Smartstart people in Europe to write software overnight for my car to try. He also tried to figure out a problem with a airbag warning light and that is not even his job, but it went off for a while now. Recently, he helped me upgrade to interior LED lighting, replace my fog lights for LED ones, and is going to put in a blind spot system within the next two weeks. I love the whole team at Perzan and you will never see me go anywhere else. This is also the only decal I have on my car, and I am very critical about who I advertise for. Do not trust anyone else. If you want the best for your car and you want it done right, go to Perzan. If you don't trust my word, just go by there and see all the local high end dealerships that trust them to work on cars for their customers, or see all of the people from other businesses who call him for advice and supply equipment for them. Definitely the best in this part of the country. Nathaniel R. Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania more

The Best spot to get any auto accessories /hands free in US 3/5/2012

These guys are more than professional... They went beyond any customer service skills to resolve the hands free problem in my Car; to the level of calling Italy and london to upgrade software in my car. Larry and his team is by far the best in their game. I will recommend any one to them. They requested to keep my car to get things done right. No additional cost. Great job Guys!!! keep up the fabulous work!! Guys like you are a rare breed in this business. Cheers!!! more

Modifications to my Portfolio..Great Job! 9/1/2010

I had been struggling for a good solution for my iphone and Jag Portfolio. It has a lot of custom made parts and assemblies being a Portfolio, so no one had a good solution. I spent a lot of time in various shops talking to folks about the problem of having AUX inputs and controls in the back of my car, that are independent from the controls where the driver is. Larry spent hours with me just talking about the design of the car and how unique the situation was. Needless to say, I dropped my car off and he did a great job giving me control in the driver seat, and charged me just what he quoted. Going out the door, I asked him to take a quick look at one of the back radio panels that was loose. He pulled it into their garage and put two new screws in under the radio to hold it tight (one clip had broken off, which is why it was loose). When I noticed it was about 1/16 of an inch off, I mentioned it, but told him it didn't bother me. But he called in his guy and the adjusted it to be perfect. When I asked how much for the fixing that, he said not to worry about it. Great Job, Great Price, and Great Service. Larry also fun to chat with about topics other than car auto systems :) I'm already getting a price on a video backup camera and replacement of a speaker that has worn out. more

Perzan's install of my 9500ci exceeded my expectations. 12/6/2008

I used to live in the Philadelphia area, but moved to Northern New Jersey. I was interested in having a custom installed radar detector installed in my Mercedes CL, and I had my eye on the Escort Passport 9500ci.\r \r When I was talking to a friend from my old neighborhood, he mentioned that he purchased an Escort portable detector from Larry Perzan. He said he's been a customer of Larry's for years and would not trust anyone else for any kind of car install.\r \r I gave Larry a call and asked if he stocked the 9500ci, and received a quote for installation. Larry was upfront over the phone and was able to give me a rough estimate on parts and labor for the job. His labor rate seemed pretty reasonable. He was knowledgeable on the best placement of each of the sensors for the best detection.\r \r I told him that I would be coming from northern NJ, and he worked around my schedule to make sure I could make it down. He did the job on a Saturday, which was great because I'm usually very busy during the week.\r \r The job was completed entirely while I waited, Larry was even kind enough to offer me lunch when the time came. After the job was finished, David demonstrated the unit to me, and told me how to set the settings to my liking and how to operate the unit. I must say I was very impressed with the way their shop was organized and how the install turned out. The sensors on the front and back of the vehicle are very discreet and beautifully integrated into my front grille.\r \r I've been using the unit for a few weeks and must say I'm amazed. I think it has saved me from at least three or four potential tickets. I commute to the Catskills in New York via the thruway some weekends and am frequently on the NJ Turnpike, so the unit is an absolute blessing.\r \r Larry was kind and patient in explaining everything to me from the start, and I'm completely satisfied with every aspect of my installation. Making the two hour trip was definitely worth it. Pros: Knowledgable and kind staff, great install, installers take pride in their work. Cons: None that I recall. more

Quality work / great customer service 9/3/2008

Larry and his staff do it all, I have been here for minor items like a new remote for my wife's car to a new stereo sysytem for my truck and each time I drive away impressed by the level of service from this store. \r Perzan has not forgotten the little things that go into excellent customer , they take there time and go to the nth degree to make sure you are satified, clean efficent work with attention to detail. I will be a lifetime customer for all the little things they do like clearing a sensor fault on my dash that was unrelated to the sound system that was getting installed. Pros: Great People / great product more

Larry and his team are simply the best in car audio. 6/28/2008

I met Larry about two years ago, when my friend referred me to him for an audio system I wanted in my car. I was clear about what I wanted to spend, and Larry put together a system that would work for my specific car at the right price. Much of the equipment he sold me was sold at less than the price that I would have paid online retailers, and I have Perzan's support if I ever need it. Two years later, I'm still enjoying my audio system thanks to Larry's support. My front speakers had an issue after they were out of warranty, and Larry went above and beyond to process my speakers for manufacturer repair at no cost to me, even though they were out of warranty. Perzan's work is pristine. I am very careful about taking care of my car and one of the only shops I feel comfortable leaving my car in is Perzan's. Their installation is absolutely beautiful. Larry knows this stuff. He is the sole USA importer for many foreign parts that are necessary to create absolutely flawless installations. Larry kept a couple of his installers after hours to make sure that my job was done when I wanted to pick it up and to make sure that everything was right. After my system was installed, Larry spent almost an hour one on one with me demoing all its' functions so that I knew about every capability.\r \r If you want the work done with quality materials/parts, without compromise, and with a factory high-end look, go nowhere else. I have maintained my relationship with Larry and have sent him a couple close friends who have been thrilled with their installations as well. I looked around at other custom shops before finding Perzan. Not only was Perzan's price less, but his expertise in sourcing parts and his attention to detail for a custom look is second to none. I felt confident in his knowledge the moment I met him after shopping elsewhere. He's also a nice guy, too!\r \r I would go nowhere else for my car audio needs, and recommend Perzan highly.\r \r Erik Waserstein more

Not a happy customer 4/18/2008

Poor customer service, awful wiring. You're supposed to solder a headunit, not tape, silly Perzan. Pros: location Cons: Poor craftsmanship more

Jumping on the bandwagon 4/18/2008

They installed components that 2 other shops said were ""Not necessary until you get into the $25,000 league"" for a smaller system. Overkill.\r \r Very disapointed at their dishonesty and lack of accountability. Take your business elsewhere\r \r Pros: Zippo Cons: Their existence more

Bad wiring 4/14/2008

Used Perzan for some speaker work and very disapointed at the price and work. ASAP in Conshy fixed larry's mess and get me back on my feet with some Focal K2p's.\r \r Stay away from Perzan! They rip off rich people who don't know better than to go to a real pro like ASAP. Cons: All more

best auto radio installation 3/5/2008

In response to Mr. Cavanaugh I purchased the $20,000 worth of stereo equiptment from Perzans Auto Radio, not him. I have been buying my stereo needs from Larry Perzan abd never had a problem. Whether it was repair service or custom installation the work has been perfect. No arguments or failure to perform work has never existed. I don't know what precipitated Mr cavanaugh's probliem but it cetainly wasn't Laryy.\r \r Jack SChwartz Pros: everything more

Poor customer service 2/17/2008

\r \r Perzan Auto Radio boasts an amazing inventory and a good location, but their residual customer service and overall attitude is one that encourages me to look elsewhere for my automotive needs. After spending close to $20,000 with them on upgrades for my Chrysler, the floor manager was very quick to tell me ""I'd be glad to take you're money if you're that stupid"" when I drove over an hour to have an HID headlight issue looked at. Additionally I found the joking about my warranty ""Running out 4 mins ago"" when the rep had no intention of helping me to be highly inappropriate.\r \r **Edit**\r \r As a follow up to this item, I'd like to note that Jack Schwartz is a very kind man who was more than helpful when I purchased this vehicle. I don't mean for my review of Perzan's service or attitudes to reflect on Jack at all. It's rare that we come across people quite that nice in our business endeavors.\r \r BUT:\r \r I've recently begun the task of further expanding the capabilities of this beautiful car by upgrading the head unit and fixing the malfunctioning HID headlights. Upon working on the car I found several bad grounds which contributed to a malfunction and subsequent blowing out of the ballasts on the HID system which Perzan installed. Additionally I've found that the car alarm installation work was substandard. The alarm module was simply hanging behind the dash with exposed wiring. Based on the amount of money Jack spent and the value he received for his substantial investment I would be very disinclined to ever recommend Perzan for any work. They also took HUGE margins on equipment. (The 20K of gear could have been obtained for less than 7k 3-4 years ago) All this was in addition to my poor encounter with the Perzan staff and general poor attitude I was given.\r \r Pros: Large selection Cons: substandard work, bad attitude, dishonest margins on equipment more
