I have not had a bad or even an ordinary meal here.in the many years I have eaten there. First, it really isn't a Mexican restaurant, it is a Tex-Mex or New Mexican restaurant, s...

yummy! 8/14/2008

If you are looking for bland typical "american" mexican food-this is not the place for you. Pepper Sisters food is full of flavor and spice, the portions are perfect for bringing home some lunch. Try the mashed potato relleno and the cilantro pesto chicken platter. You don't need to buy dessert (altho delicious) because they give you yummy sopapillas with honey butter. Great vegetarian and carnivore selections with a wonderful childrens menu. more

Pepper Sisters 3/5/2006

Pepper Sisters serves southwest done the northwest style. With a host of vegetarian options and fresh fish the food is clean and healthy. All meals come with a basket of sopapillas and honey butter. The lively atmosphere is energizing and the service is friendly and helpful. Serving only beer and wine as the alcohol choices the sangrias and local organic beer offer perfect options with the flavorful foods. more

Slow service, small servings, over priced 2/25/2006

As much as I love to support small, local business (and this place has quite the loyal following so they must be doing something right for somebody!), I just can't get into Pepper Sisters. Their service is generally slow, the waitstaff aren't usually very friendly and the food is priced about 15% higher than I think it's worth in terms of taste, serving size and location of restaurant. more

If you're not in a hurry, you can't go wrong here! 4/18/2005

Mmmm... I have never been disappointed by the food (or service) at Pepper Sisters. Bear in mind, you should come hungry. I have not been able to stray from a few "standards" that I've adopted while dining at Pepper Sisters. The Chicken Elote Enchilda is what my wife always gets; I usually get the Blue Plate which is a chicken enchilade with blue corn tortillas (hence the name), cheese, olives, and I'm not sure what else in the enchilada. It comes with a salad, beans, and posole. Accompanying sauces vary in spiciness... I would imagine they'd be very receptive to accomodating any requests in that manner. The wait staff is always VERY professional and really make you feel at home. Most dishes at Pepper Sisters come with 2 of the following: rice, black beans, baked beans, posole. All 4 are wonderful; my favorite is the posole. As a NW born and bred Scandinavian, hominy is not usually a huge draw for me, but when Pepper Sisters does it up in posole, you don't want to miss it. Finally, I have a healthy appetite and I have not yet been able to indulge in a dessert after a meal at Pepper Sisters. The sopaipillas (spelling?) are dessert enough. They're a deep fried dough that puffs up and the way I usually eat them is to slice them and fill up the puffed up gap with the wonderful honey-butter that comes with them. I don't know why they bother with a dessert menu after that. more
