Great Pharmacy for my Patients! 6/10/2011

Whenever I go in there or send one of my patients, the staff is very helpful. If they don't have something, they can get it. If they don't know something, they call someone who does. I love it that they have great grab and go food, too! Liesa Harte, M.D. www dot DrLiesa dot com 1132 South Lamar Austin, TX 78704 more

Friendly, knowledgable, helpful people! 10/26/2010

What a wonderful resource to Austinites! In true South Austin style, the store front is a little, shall we say, well worn? But in truth I'd rather a business spend its money and products and services than fancy shelving and flooring. I'll start with the deli because I'm thinking about lunch: Amazing! Delicious, local food made with love. I always pick up my next meal when I go in. I'm thinking pumpkin pie smoothie...mmmm. The ""wellness"" team: Terrific! I can't believe the wealth of information they have walking around, ready to assist! I am particularly fond of the homeopath, Lori, and her keen connection to patients of the four-legged variety. My dog Maude likes to eat bees and though we haven't figured out a way to stop that, Lori showed me Apis which helps with the swelling. The pharmacy is great, too. So far I've only had to get medicine for Maude there, but they mixed that up in a liver liquid that Maude lapped up in an instant and asked for more. That will be a great resource if I ever have kids of the two-legged variety (Though I'm thinking cherry or grape for them). All in all, I think I'm one lucky girl to have Peoples Pharmacy in my backyard! more

i would us e people over the chain stores any day! i feel that the pharmacists that work here are maybe a bit more experienced and knowledgeable than the chain stores. i order Rx medicine for my business through them once a month and call them at least once a week for questions about possible drug reactions with other medical treatments they are very helpful, and even though i know they are busy, they take the time to help us. Thanks you fro everyone at Elements Laser Spa, and Mad Dog Tattoo removal. more

THE BEST PHARMACY TO SHOP AT AND WORK FOR!! 6/22/2008

I previously worked at People's and still shop there. Bill Swail has picked a superb staff to work at each of his stores. I worked for Mr. Ray Solano for about 2 years and he was always considerate and making sure the customers were taken care of. \r \r You may see a review about this local chain of pharmacies that wasn't very professional. The gentlemen who wrote the review thought it would be nice to lash out at Mr. Solano due to the fact that he was never hired, he was on a probational hire, kind of like a lets see if they fit before we hire thing. Those of you who have worked in a pharmacy know that it takes special skills and great patience to work in this industry. Not everyone is cut out to work in pharmacy. \r \r Back to People's, they have everything you could possibly need to change your quality of life. Most of the stores have a deli which offer organic foods as well as made to order smoothies! Those are the best! As an independent pharmacy, they are able to compound your more

Make sure your wallet is open! 11/22/2007

You can get things here you can't get at other pharmacies. We get lots of medications compounded for our pets here (triple fish flavor!) Apparently they can compound drugs in strengths not available in the typical pharmacy. Their pharmacists are specially trained to do this. \r \r They have a small cafe that serves items like organic soups, breakfast tacos with organic tortillas, organic wraps, an expresso bar, etc. \r \r The staff are friendly and well-trained. The only drawback here is the expense. more

Amazing to find a pharmacy that doesn't want to sell you drugs!! 8/8/2005

I take my children here when they have a medical need that doesn't require a dr. For instance, my son is allergic to ant bites (didn't know until he broke out horribly...dr. told me it was chicken pox...when it occured again a few weeks later I took him here). The people here knew that it was a reaction to an ant bite. (yes, I now have a new dr)!! They gave me natural ways to get past this problem. I like that because I don't want to constantly shove drugs down my children. Since then, I've taken my son in because he had croup. The dr. wanted to give him steroid shots. Peoples pharmacy helped me get him well through essential oils, vitamins and other supplements. Yes, that does cost $...but no more than taking him to the dr...paying a $20 co-pay, then on to the pharmacy for another $20-30 medication. Either way you've spent $50! I, for one, am happy to find a pharmacy that isn't just lining it's pockets recommending what the drug co. tells them to! They are conventional, but also natur more

Out to make a buck 5/17/2005

I went into this pharmacy with a prescription and was immediately met by a pharmacist that was intent on selling me additional expensive "dietary suppliements" and vitamins. This guy was definitly knowledgeable and pursuasive, I'll give him that. But the prices of the things were exhorbitant. I must admit I bought one of them and then priced it at Wal-Mart and it was 1/3 the price. No kidding! So, beware the sales pitch. The prescription was fine. PROS: Convenient location CONS: Hardcore sales pitch for vitamins and suppliments more
