I liked their efficiency and knowledge, as far as the fluids and things. They were really honest about what needed to be done and what could wait. Their timing was great. I didn't have to wait very long. The discount cards they sent us really helped. more

Good place 7/22/2011

I like that they don't bug you while you are having your oil changed. They don't come back to you with a whole bunch of requests and sales pitches. I think they are doing a good job. more

Really Like this Place 7/14/2011

I like the fact that they keep the service within ten minutes. Even when there is a wait, they manage to get to you right away. I used to be a Jiffy Lube member until it closed down, but I now like Pennzoil 10 Minute Oil Change more. more

I can't complain 6/8/2011

I don't hate this place at all. I've been going there since 2002. They try to sell you some other things, but all you have to say is 'NO!' They put in some new wiper blades for me and it didn't cost much. Overall, I can't complain about their services. They've been around for a long time, so they must be doing something right, Quick, fast, easy oil change . . . that's it!! more

Ive never had a problem here 5/27/2011

I went to Pennzoil for an oil change today. Its the third one Ive gotten at this place. While I was there I was curious and checked the yelp reviews.`I was pretty surprised. Ive never had a problem here, and today was the first time they tried to sell me on other stuff besides the oil change. I declined. This place is kind of pricey, but my oil has always been changed in 10 mins or less, regardless of the number of people in the waiting room. (which by the way is bigger than a lot of mechanics or auto shops. I saw someone complained about this). The workers here are as friendly as you can hope for in the 5 mins that you actually deal with them. Id recommend it if you dont mind paying a little more for waiting a little less more

I kinda like the pennzoil guys because they give me a diagnostic mechanics dont seem to give me. Twice I've brought my car to this place only a week after someone else has looked at it and both times they pointed out where the last mechanic failed. I mean they're not gonna fix it, but I like the fact they will tell me straight up "This is messed, I'm not gonna fix it, but you should get that checked out." Then I go back to the person who originally did the work and they fix their errors. Perhaps I just need a legit mechanic who gets it done the first time. Anyone know of someone like that for a passat? my coolant is leaking and I don't want to take it back to the same guy...he messed it up. more

Amazing Service 2/7/2011

I go there and stand and watch them work. Wouldn't go there otherwise. Some guys know me and I try to go to their station, some others don't really pay too much attention. The time it takes to get oil change is proportional to the line, usually not more than 40 minutes, saves me a trip to the dealer, and they do carry Mobil 1 but you have to ask for it. more

I've been using this place for no-frill oil changes for years and I've been happy with it. This last visit, however, was dramatic. First the mechanic told me that my 19 yr old BMW will not take regular oil, only the substantially more expensive synthetic oil. That's total dishonesty and bs. I'm no even sure if synthetic oil existed when my car was new. Then when my car was ready, the gas gauge mysteriously dropped by a quarter. I happened to have filled up just 2 days before, used a little of it, and now the tank is only half full. Avoid this place at all cost. It is now operated by crooks. I'm not going back. more

If you're up to date on maintaining your car it's easy to say no thanks. 1/20/2011

Usually they get me in & out on time. Yes they do offer cross sale of other services, to be expected. But if you're up to date on maintaining your car it's easy to say no thanks. They also provide a historical sheet of services provided and at what millage. Part of their sales approach. I noticed they seal the oil drain plug with some yellow goop and also replace the washer. Lastly since they use Pennzoil oil and filter, it can account for some of the additional mark-up vs somewhat cheaper oil other $20-25 oil change places use. If one were to buy the same oil & filter and DIY, it would cost about $20. With that in mind it's not that bad of a deal since they take care of the oil disposal and you don't have to get dirty. more

10 Minutes! 1/11/2011

So when they say 10 minutes they mean 10 minutes. And my car ran better after the oil change, which is always a good sign. They check everything, don't try to sell you extra services, and even have a clean, quiet waiting room with free coffee & tea. more

I've been coming here on & off for as long as I can remember. If I don't go to my local gas station guy on San Jose Ave., I come here. I WAS gonna try out Sunset Service Super Lube down the street b/c they get stellar reviews on yelp, but they CLOSED on me today! It says they close @ 6pm... I got there @ 550pm (yes, I looked at my cell), ask them if they could do one more oil change... denied! So, I speed down to Pennzoil, and @ 559PM, they take me in... how sweet! It really does take only 10 minutes! Of course, if it was busy, I would've waited, but my luck, I was in & out! He did recommend two services, but he didn't push or scare me into anything (as in, if you don't do this, your car will explode).. "just a recommendation, he said." So, after paying (& showing my coupon on my iphone... score!), I go on my merry way... & my old friend is driving like new... If anything bad happens to my car, I will update, but really, I've never had problems w/ these guys in the past... more

Fast service, good service. Expensive, but no nonsense when it came to getting things done clean and without trying to sell me something else. What do you expect for that high of a price? Hey, at least I got a free air freshener out of it. And at least they're nicer than most other competitors I've been to, especially those who have a golden touch. *Ahem* more

I was just there today around 1pm. They seemed busier than I remember, but the whole process was a breeze. I wasn't asked to upgrade my air filters, or my window wipers, or any of that kind of stuff. I read the Guardian while I waited, checked a few things off on my iPhone to-do app, and was out in no time. Was it exactly 10 minutes? I don't know, but if you are in a rush you probably shouldn't be getting your oil changed anyway. more
