Best

This is the fast food version of PF Chang's. The best part is that the dishes are half the price and no tipping is needed since it is diner style. The pad thai is awesome. But ...

Worst

This place is supposed to be a fast food version of PF Chang’s. The food is marginal for what you pay and the service is fair at best. The edamame is usually overcooked, therefo...

What Tex-Mex is to Mexican food, Pei Wei is to Chinese food...Tex-Chi? 3/14/2008

Cheap as in quality, def not price. Wasn't nasty food, but it wasn't delicious either. I paid $8 plus dollars for a bowl of noodles and 5 shrimp. Leaves something to be desired. more

Horrible! 5/2/2007

Are you kidding me houston? This is a city filled with Asian people everywhere, and you're telling me that the best tasting chinese food is Pei Wei which is a place started by non-Asian people? It's a cheap knock-off of Chinese food. Ask any Asian person- they wouldn't eat Pei wei or PF Chang's ever. Come on! The best Asian food in Houston if you want Chinese is all over Chinatown! Go to Bellaire in houston and you will find so much variety, amazing authentic cuisine, and all at amazing prices. Pros: Ambience Cons: Horrible food more

hidden treasure 11/17/2006

This is the fast food version of PF Chang's. The best part is that the dishes are half the price and no tipping is needed since it is diner style. The pad thai is awesome. But you can not go wrong with anything on the menu. Pros: Cheap Cons: not open late, parking more

Great food 8/27/2005

I would like to add a correction to a previous members statement... there is absolutely NO msg used in their food. That's apparent and posted on the menus on the wall. The food is good at peak times otherwise it can be a little old tasting. Other than that great place to eat and hang out with friends. Pros: cheap, fun, NO msg Cons: non peak times more

great place to meet friends 9/15/2004

GREAT place for a quick bite ... GREAT food GREAT price..best idea for aresturant they have in a LONG TIME more

Inconsistently Good 1/5/2004

The food is good but not consistently. As long as you order your food during peak times you will get it fresh. If you order it at non-peak times you will typically receive food that looks like it's been sitting under the heat lamp for awhile. It does feel like you're getting P.F. Chang's at a discounted price, but you learn that you pay for the service. It's pretty much do it yourself at Pei Wei. And often your meals and those of others in your party will arrive at all different times. Love the honey chicken and brown rice. Pros: Food, Independence, Price Cons: Food, Independence more

Narrow Minded 11/18/2003

This resutraunt is fantastic!, Anyone who thinks other wise, is mistaken. All authentic asian restaurants serve the food as it becomes availble. The noise is a little too loud but, the food, design, and atmosphere make up for that. It's really a warm and inviting place. I recomend Beef Blazing Noodles, if you enjoy spicy food.. Pros: Tasty food, Fast Service, Value!! Cons: Noise more

Just a gimmick for a trendy place 8/7/2003

The food is okay, but they brought my entree out 10 minutes after my friend received hers. The acoustics there are awful and the seating system is strange. It is fairly fast and inexpensive fake Asian food. There are much better Chinese/Asian places Pros: lite Asian food Cons: crowded, noisy more

Unique Food 6/30/2003

Food is unique and great tasting. Spices seem to be just right. Twice my group had difficulty getting all the orders to the table at the same time. Seems there's a black hole back there in the kitchen. Pros: trendy atmosphere Cons: tables too close more

Pei Less, Wei Better! 6/2/2003

This is one of the best Asian spots I've been to! Everything is better, from the crunchy snow peas to the wonderful cuts of meat. You really notice the difference with the food here. I'm used to soggy veggies & meat you can't trust. I'm convinced that someone here takes the time to pick the best out for Pei Wei. I'm already a regular, lucky for me I work close! I;ve already chose Pei Wei over PF Chang's on 2 occasions! I hope they don't mind!!! Pros: Food Quality, Location, Helpful staff Cons: Loud inside more

Baby Changs 6/2/2003

If you want PF Chang's, but don't have the time or money, this is your place. The food is essentially identical in taste, with less bravo and production. Like Chang's, the dishes focus on the flavor, not quantity of sauce, which means great taste without a gallon of sauce in each bite. The waitstaff is wonderfully nice, and although they aren't full service (you purchase at the counter, and the staff brings your meal to your table), they will happily get you refills, etc if you ask them. If you like Asian, this place is fast, tasty and reasonably priced. Pros: fast, portions, flavorful more
