The complaints about cost are likely unfounded. You can't compare what would happen if a child went into the ER vs a dog/cat. Most people have health insurance. And if they don't,...

Worst

Extremely expensive! Approximately 40% higher than surrounding veternarians.. I assume that's why they are usually empty, no problem getting in, however, the cost is ridiculous.

Best Vet Around! 1/30/2012

The complaints about cost are likely unfounded. You can't compare what would happen if a child went into the ER vs a dog/cat. Most people have health insurance. And if they don't, the cost still gets swallowed up by tax payers. If you have ever had to seek medical help with no insurance, I'm sure you are aware of the level of care you receive... it's not good.. Pros: null Cons: null more

The WORST vet clinic i have ever been to!\r They tried charging me $500 to apply stitches to a small \r laceration my dog had under his arm and claimed my dog needed all types of blood work done.Luckily being in the animal care industry i knew all the test weren't necessary and i managed to get the price down to $200, which was still ridiculous for four stitches.\r The receptionist was extremely rude!\r If your looking for a place with good customer service,compaction for animals and reasonable prices i suggest you look somewhere else.\r will never be going back and i hope by writing this review ill save someone a horrible experience. more

Caring Pet Owner 12/16/2011

I have been using the services of this hospital for my pets for over 30 years. The doctors have changed, but the service of the staff and care have been consistant: PERFECT! I love that my dogs get excited when we pull into the parking lot. The receptionists know them on sight and they treat them as their own. They have cried with me and consoled me on my losses and celebrated my newest additions. I would not take my fur persons anywhere else! more

Pedley Vet is the BEST vet around. The receptionists are very helpful and ALWAYS greet us (myself & my dogs) with a smile.If you want your pets to be treated right this IS the place to go! Prices are reasonable, but like i said before you pay for what you get! =) - If you really cared you wouldn't mind to spend the money in the first place,or maybe you shouldn't own a pet! - 1 HAPPY CLIENT....THANKS TO ALL THE STAFF more

Expectations 12/15/2010

If an estimate does not meet with your expectations, then certainly you can take your pet for care at another facility. Why return to Pedley with estimates from other vets if Pedley's is too high? Would you not go to the cheaper one if that is the only criteria you have for determining the best course of action for you animal? Medical practices for humans are not perfect, nor are those for animals. I have developed a trust of this facility, including under new ownership, over the last 12 years.I have not seen one review than states objective criteria for evaluating the practice. It's unfortunate that whoever answered the phone was not compassionate to your loss. It is certainly something to discuss with the office manager if you feel the response was inappropriate. In the last two months, the staff has stayed after closing to complete the care required for our unscheduled visit. Last night the attending vet stayed two hours after closing to ensure continuity of care and determine a tr more

This Clinic is only interested in your money 11/22/2010

I had an emergency with my cat on a Saturday. Being the closest clinic around that was open on a weekend I did not hesitate to take my cat here. The whole time I was under the impression that they were competent and reliable. I was informed that my cat had a hernia from a spaying gone wrong. They told me that she would be ok and that it was not something to worry about, that the surgery was simple. I was given a quote of $700; a price that was WAY out of my budget. I was crying and did not know what to do so they said they would "knock off" some the things that were not necessary from that quote. They took out the blood work since they said it wasn't necessary given that it was only a hernia. I picked up my cat later that day and brought her home. I was told that the next day my cat would start eating and would feel better. However this was not the case, my cat could not eat at all and could not even walk. I gave her the medication once and then I bought her a protein paste to substitu more

Best Pet Hospital Around 9/19/2010

This is the best staff around. I find their prices fair for the work they do and the treatment my pets get. I'm always greeted with a friendly hello (including my dogs), and they love going there. If my pets are sick or hurt, Pedley Vet is where I'm going. I love them their. more

Don't take my word for it -- be attentive and be your pet's advocate 9/16/2010

As with any vet (or doctor or other professional), one needs to ascertain the person with whom one will be dealing. Have there been times I regretted the care I received from people there when they were someone new or with whom I had not dealt? Yeah. But when you find someone as caring and committed as Dr. Bocanegra, it's worth the price one pays for one's companion. And, yeah, any of us regulars could probably bet who it was that "sounded" mean or uncaring to the one complainer, but it has been my experience that no matter how rough around the edges she is, she cares too -- my own guess from the years of dealing with her is that the roughness is a defense mechanism from having to deal with so many people who have an animal that needs care but then when told how much basic pet care costs won't expend it.\r \r BTW, dissing another vet in a review of this vet is bad form. While we no longer use Dr. Butchko, what he did for my Irish Wolfhound and my wife's ol' rescued spitfire cat earn more

They saved my Kittys life! 9/15/2010

Excellent Service! I have taken my pet to other vet in the area since she has been sick for a long time and nearly dying and nobody could figure out what was wrong with her. I took her to Pedley vet and they were able to figure out the reason of her sickness and she is now happy and gaining weight. The doctors were very thorough and clear when they explained what was worng with my kitty! I highly recommend this place. more

I cannot believe the audacity of these people! When asked how much they charge for neutering a 160 dog I was told $310.00, but interestingly enough I was just charged a little under $1,000.00 for fixing a broken toenail! When I asked how they could justify charging 3 times as much for a procedure that requires much less medical attention, I was told that I signed the estimate! The estimate was for a broken toe not a broken nail. Even in the worst case scenerio, I cannot imagine charging this excessive amount for a toenail! I was basically told that as I had signed the estimate they could charge anything for what they "deemed" necessary! They fixed a toenail!!!! God forbid that you would really need extensive medical care at this hospital - They might take your house!!! When I showed the bill to other veterinary hospitals they were amazed, one hospital told me that my dog would have had to have a much more serious injury and stayed for a number of days to be charged this much! SAD NON CARING 7/8/2010

My Husband and I went to this office regarding a stray that that we were concerned about, she was so thin and must have been left to die at the Pedley Animal supply on limonite. We spoke with the lady at the front counter and asked for the phone number to the animal shelter, she gave us the number to some emergency care clinic and was rude and short with us, like we were bothering her. We also had in mind at that time to make an appointment for our dog, so my husband asked her what the office fee was and she answered in a rude manner. She had no caring in her voice for the animal (STRAY) or for us as new patients. I came home and called and I spoke to her on the phone and she was still a rude person on the phone. This is sad for customer service. If everyone else is like this person I would never take my pet to this animal care facility. NO HEART..IN THIS FACILITY more

Best Vet In Town 1/15/2010

My family has used Pedley Vet forever. Back when the vets made house calls for large animals as well as there at their facility. We love them, they?re the best vet around. They were able to diagnose my old dogs cancer with just one x-ray when the other vet my mom took him to had him for over a week running all kinds of stupid tests! Low cost spay and neuter clinic on Wednesday and shot clinic. Wonderful staff. more

WE LOVE PEDLEY 7/12/2008

He fixed my dog's ear (always getting infections), when a nearby vet clinic couldn't fix it, and they charged almost double of what Dr. Butchko charged me! It was well worth it. His staff is great as well. W love Dr.Bocanegra we found our new vet ;) Bring your pets here if you want them treated right... more

I wish my doctor was as thorough as my dog's doctor was 4/2/2008

The vet explained my dog's x-rays to my son and I for 20 minutes. He showed us every joint and explained every place that might explain her problem. He was very kind and thorough. We have found our new vet. more

nice veterinarian who helped us out greatly with a complex case. His prices are higher than Dr. Butchko's, but his office is a lot nicer and very helpful. more
