I am a college student who receives care from Pediatric Endocrine Associates. I am 21 years old and have been going to pediatric endocrine associates since I was 15 years old. I do not want to leave pediatric endocrine until it is absolutely necessary. Regardless if it is just for a check up, serious health issue, or problem with insurance they are willing to do everything in their power to help. The staff is friendly and professional. I have never had one problem when visiting this practice. more

This letter is to show my appreciation for assistance provided by Carrie Kay and LeQuarius Stephany at Pediatric Endocrine Associates. My daughter has been a patient with there since 2011, the year she left for Boston University.\r \r I was very apprehensive about allowing her to go so far away from home for college, but everyone from Dr. Rappaport to the young ladies that make the appointments for PEA, have been wonderful in helping her manage her diabetes while at college.\r \r She needed documentation from Dr. Rapport/PEA for school, she telephoned Carrie who facilitated the request through LeQuarius. Mark, I know how busy the office is; the fact that Carrie and LeQuarius took the time to assist our daughter in the manner that they did is greatly appreciated. \r \r Additional thanks to Carrie for making sure our daughter knows the value of good nutrition and for ""getting in her face"" about doing the right thing when necessary. Parents often times need someone else to say the same things to their children/young adults in order for it to be heard.\r \r I hope you all know how much you are appreciated.\r \r \r more

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/18/2013

We have been taking our daughter to this practice for 11 years and I have to say we were surprised by some of negative reviews. The staff has always been friendly and professional, if not downright funny at times. We've seen two doctors in that time, and while each had their own personality the care we received was excellent. The lab tests are very specialized and sometimes take longer to get results than we would like, but overall we have been very happy. Communication could be better at times, but that was mostly playing phone tag. But maybe most important of all, our daughter likes going there (well as much as you can like going to the doctor - lol). Excellent care. more

I can see why they get bad ratings!!! 2/28/2011

We were referred to Pediatric Endo.....so I started researching online and saw all the terrible reviews. Having tried to schedule an appointment for 6 weeks without success, I can understand why such negative feedback. Their new patient coordinator, Ms Leontyne Price, is useless. She won't return calls. I guess these doctors are just so good they don't need any new patients. We went somewhere else and were able to get in right away - with very helpful and polite office staff and doctors. more

Great Experience 2/2/2011

If your child has to be referred to an endocrinologist, you are having concerns, right? I had heard it was difficult to get an appointment, but I have had no issues. I have brought my daughter several times now, and we are in and out, easy! The doctors and nurses have all been so nice. They have a nice waiting room with toys so your younger ones can be entertained. Bring cash for parking. more

Horrible Horrible Horrible!!! 11/10/2010

I couldn't even get off the ground with this office. \r \r After getting all the tests done for my son that the office told me he required, I've tried and tried to contact the office to find out what is next - phone calls and emails - to no avail. Email bounces, phone calls not returned. And the voice on the message is very threatening - ""don't leave multiple phone messages as this may delay the response"" - like they're going to PUNISH you for trying to follow-up! What gives? So here I sit, waiting, waiting, waiting. That's no way to run a railroad.\r \r I would not recommend starting with this office. Perhaps the doctors are good. I never got the chance to find out, thanks to the new patient ""gestapo.""\r \r Go to Emory Children's Center instead. What a difference!! more

My son LOVES P.E.A.!!!!! 2/8/2010

This practice is very busy and I don't think many parents realize how important it is to keep their appointments and to get here on time. Yes, some of the doctors do run late but we have to realize that emergencies happen. All patients are treated equally and my son has a wonderful nurse. The staff is always helpful and witty. My results are given to me in a timely manner and phone calls are returned. It may take a day to hear back or two if someone is out, but they are returned. Sometimes when I'm @ registration, I feel bad for the ladies up in the front desk because they have been bombarded with questions regarding things they could have called ahead for. Some of the parents can be nasty with these hard working front desk ladies and I think it is unfair and puts them in a bad mood. I have never experienced such rudeness coming from other adults in front of their children and other children to see. Other than that, I have never experience anything other than great customer service. Pros: My son loves it! Cons: Very Busy Practice more

!!!MY KIDS LOVE THEIR DOCTOR!!! 2/5/2010

We have been going to this practice for 5 years, and I love the staff! They are a VERY BUSY OFFICE because unfortunatly there are not alot of Endocrinologists for children like there are for PCP's. Alot of times we don't get a live person when we call but as long as I follow the prompts and leave my message with the correct person, and what info they need we get a call back same day.... if not the next morning. I am always on time for my appointment and never wait long in the waiting room (but of course I think that is in all who you see!). i would recommend this practice to my friends if the needed an Endo Dr.! Pros: Best staff ever, more friendlier then my PCP!! Cons: They are busy more

Worst practice EVER 8/12/2009

My children have been patients there for 3 years (I didn't know where else to go) and have gone through EVERY female Dr there in hopes of finding one we liked. It is extremely hard to get in and when you do go. they are so RUDE. The Drs have horrible bedside manners. My daughter gained too much weight one appointment and she felt horrible as it was, (as any pre-teen girl would) but Dr Carlucci proceeded to yell at her for the weight gain. Nothing like kicking a child while they are down! My daughter walked out in tears asking me why she would get mad at her when the Dr is FAT herself!! You would think she would have more simpathy over a few pounds on a pre-teen girl. \r It is next to impossible to get lab results back before your next appointment and forget trying to get a refill on a RX before your next appointment. (My daughters had to go 3 WEEKS without meds because we couldn't get a hold of them to refill)\r If you are missing school for appointment, make sure to REMEMBER the school forms otherwise they CHARGE you if you have to go back for them. In fact they CHARGE you for EVERY form you need unless its during an appointment, but then they complain about needing more time and want you to leave it. (to get more $$ from you)\r I'm currently trying to get a hold of them to take our medical records to Emory. Once again, impossible to talk to someone. All I can get from them so far is their fees to get medical records. (Can they even charge me for my records????) Take your children to Emory's Endocrine office. They are so much better. Your kids will thank you. Pros: Not a darn thing Cons: Where do I begin... more

REMARKABLY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE 5/12/2009

It took me 4 months witha referral from our pediatrician to get an appointment set with a doctor. I have never called the office and had a human being answer a phone and it typically takes 3-5 calls to get a response at all. We were told that we'd have lab results in 2-3 weeks, and after 8 weeks when we finally had to show up in person due to no one returning our calls, we were able to get results. If you can find another practice to go to, you'll save yourself a lot of headache. Everyone from the check in staff to the billing dept are incredibly rude, clearly don't understand what its like to have children and do not value your business. The doctor however has done a great job with our child. Pros: Once you finally get to a doctor, they are good Cons: Interacting with the office and support staff is a nightmare more

Worst Customer Care I've Ever Received! 12/29/2008

After waiting months to get an appointment with any doctor in this office, getting only an answering machine every single time I've ever called and being ignored by the physician & staff, I want to warn anyone against taking your child to this office. I tried politely taking my issues with this office to the office manager who in turn told us this is a repeated problem. Could not get a return phone call for an entire month! Cons: Customer Care more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THIS PRACTICE!!! 11/19/2008

Our daughter was diagnosed with Congenital Hypothyroidism at 10 days old. We chose this practice because they were able to see our daughter first. We were worried because we knew nothing about this condition besides what we read on the internet. We were hoping that on her first visit we would have some understanding of her condition. This was not the case at all, INSTEAD our daughter was used for teaching purposes to medical students. Dr. Anderson did not explain her condition to us in a what we were able to understand and even scoffed at me for reading up on her condition online before coming in. It took over a week to get her lab results after repeat calls to the practice only to find that her Synthroid dosage she was prescribed at Egleston had been too high. We expressed our concerns on our next visit only to hear from the PA that we saw that she had heard many of the same concerns from other parents. The nurse came in to draw our daughters TSH and T4, but was unsuccessful. She gave us a LabCorp slip and told us to go to our local hospital, which for us was in West Ga. It took TWO WEEKS to get the results only after threatening legal action and having our child's pediatrician call them. We were immediately told to find another practice. This was back in August. We received a letter (THREE MONTHS LATER) in the mail today telling us that it was our fault in a nutshell that we should not have taken our daughter to our local hospital, even though their nurse was the one who told us to do so. We also received a missed appointment fee bill for an appointment in October after we had already been ""kicked"" out of the practice. This practice does not care about these children at all. It is sad that our children have to receive such deplorable health care. We are trying to be responsible parents and get our child's condition under control before permanent damage is done, and this is they way we are treated?\r Please DO NOT take your child to this practice. Cons: Everything associated with this practice is a con more

Would not recommend taking your child to this doctor 10/13/2008

I don't know about the other doctors in the practice but Doctor Stephen Anderson was not helpful at all. I would not recommend going to him. more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS DOCTOR'S OFFICE! 8/29/2008

It's testament to an already poor healthcare system, but when doctor's follow along the same lines as our failing healthcare system, it's a sad day. The worst is that 'Pediatric' is listed in the name, so when you fail in patient care, it's the innocent that are hurt.\r \r We have experienced failed lab result work which leads to repeat visits to 3rd party lab corporations, and traumatizing visits for our daughter. Also, this means more visits to the doctor's office, another co-payment and insurance money to the doctor. They never address the issues of concern we have for our daughter's thyroid condition. All the while, the doctors at this office have also failed to comfort our daughter and her thyroid problem; failed to address her symptoms; and failed to follow-up in an appropriate manner. Once, after I had enough of the bad treatment and tried to confront the doctors on their terrible patient care, they had a nurse rush me out the door with no explaination of our daughter's current symptoms nor remedies. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS DOCTOR'S OFFICE!!!\r \r We are good people looking for good care for our daughter. You should not have to experience the same!!! Pros: The ladies at the front deask are nice, and the nurses are sympathetic Cons: Doctor's are not attentive to patient concerns! more

Best DR's To My SON 6/16/2008

The team of Dr's have been the most helpful and kind people to my son and me.He was 1st seen at Scottishrite 4/1/08 .They have answered all the ?'s me and my husband had at that time. When we have been to both offices the staff has always been helpful. All calls have been returned ASAP with in 1 hour.I want to thank them for there help in a time when it was dark for us.We will keep going to this office and the cobb county one till Dallas has to goto an adult office which since he is 5 years old it will be along time.Thank you. more

Go see someone else. 1/16/2008

I am in the process of switching practices to an adult practice that has agreed to see my child. They heard before how awful this practice is. When we first went to see Dr. Schultz they did lab work for thyroiditis with no feedback to us at that time. Some weeks later we received a prescription in the mail with no explanation. It took me 6 weeks to get a return phone call to get some kind of explanation. Go see Dr. Van Meter in Peachtree City. They are so much better - or beg an adult endocrinologist to see your child. Anything is better than this practice. After 3 years I have had enough of them. Pros: one nurse practitioner is worth seeing but you have to beg for her Cons: everything else - what an arrogant group more

Worst medical practice I have ever delt with. 12/4/2007

If you want good quality care for your child avoid this practice like the plague. As mentioned by previous patients, phone calls are not returned, mistakes in medical history, mistakes in appointments, waited 6 weeks for a return phone call regarding lab results. There is not enough room in this forum to convey the mistake upon mistake that has been made by this practice. When I was waiting for medical records to change practices, there were four other mothers doing the same. The staff in unprofessional to say the very least. When I mentioned this to my sons pcp, he stated that he had had several such complaints from other parents. They are one of only two pediatric endocrinology groups in the area so I guess they feel they are the only game in town. more

Poor customer service 11/2/2007

I have been waiting almost 4 weeks just to get my son's lab test results. I have left message after message, with different people, but no one seems to care enough to return my call. I even left a self addressed envelope at my visit so they could mail them to me, but that hasn't happened either.\r I waited 3 months for an appointment, I guess I'll wait another 3 months for results. more

EXCEPTIONALLY POOR PATIENT SERVICE 6/14/2007

I had to see Dr. Anderson regarding my sons thyriod problem. I do not not have any big problem with Dr. Anderson personally but the first line interaction at his office is horrible. The Receptionist/ Nurse one has to speak to for appointments does not even know how to speak to the patients. I called her on June 14, 07 to reschedule the appointment of my son who recently ran out of his medicine. This lady was RUDE, UNACCOMODATING and UNCOURTIOUS. She even hung up the phone twice and was listing to any problem for which we wanted to reschedule the appointment. I even wanted to ask her if she may ask the doctor to at least call in more prescription, but she would not let any chance for the conversation to go ahead. She would not even say her name. She should be reported to the governing authority and must be dismissed from service where she has to interact with patients / customers.\r I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THIS OFFICE EVER AND ALSO I AM NOW LOOKING FOR SOME OTHER DOCTOR FOR MY SON. DO NOT GO THERE. THANKS FOR BEING SO CALLED TOP DOCTOR... do not need this kind of top doctor Pros: BE CAREFUL WITH RECEPTIONIST more

Dr. Anderson is wonderful! 3/26/2007

Dr. Anderson treated me from 1993 - 2001 (ages 9-17) for a thyroid disorder. He is a wonderful, highly intelligent doctor. He is very thorough and looks at all angles of treatment. He was able to give my greater personal Also very kind - as a child I had difficulty having my lab work drawn; knowing this, Dr. Anderson would actually come into the exam room and draw my bl00d to make the process smoother. Would recomend to anyone - especially people still looking for answers. Also, never had any problems with the office. The wait was a little long, BUT so is the wait for most doctors in Atlanta. Pros: Dr. Andersons knowledge Cons: Location more
