I love this hotel. Right when you walk into the lobby, you're swept with the feeling for grandeur and romance. There's gold everywhere (I think i'm just particular to gold), and t...

This was my first time traveling to Las Vegas, my trip was booked as a package deal with 6 other family members, who have been to Las Vegas over 8 times.

Grand Style 12/1/2006

I've visited the MGM Grand casino and shopping areas several times (though never stayed in the hotel). The casino is nice. It's large and has a feature with live tigers right on the gaming floor. Really neat! The sports book is pretty nice--large and comfy chairs. There are lots of restaurant options with several upscale selections. There is a pedestrian overpass right outside the doors that leads to NYNY. I'm not too sure about the customer service though--there was a man sitting at a slot machine outside the restrooms holding a small baby and an employee made him get up because he wasn't playing the game. I know it's probably a rule, but come on! more

The MGM Grand is a huge casino/hotel. The rooms were clean but the room was rather warm. Of course, it was 105 degrees outside, but I guess I expected the air conditioner to be blasting out cold air. After all, I'm sure the hotel can afford to have a great air conditioning system, with all the money they haul in on a daily basis. The casino area is fun. They have a huge variety of slot machines for the very high rolling gamblers as well those of us on a budget. I spent a lot of time on the penny and nickel machines. There is a great variety of restaurants and entertainment. There is no need to even leave the hotel. Like I said, the hotel is huge. It would be nice if they put "You are here" maps around the place. I spent a lot of time trying to find my way to the elevators and if it weren't for my cell phone calls to my sister, I would still be wandering around lost. more

Though it has thhe vague theme of the movies/hollywoood//the wizard of oz (?), it is vague and not terribly impressive (or even visible unless you are looking for it). The casino is not terribly impressive either but when it comes to restaurants and entertainment, this mega-hotel packs a punch. Now it is one of the foody hot spots in Vegas competing with the Bellagio and Mandalay Bay. The rooms are also top notch -- roomy, elegant, and not too themey. If you are a gourmand, stop by and you'll be in heaven the entire length of your stay. more
